Or is it the DI07 update?
G27..H..I07...?
This is how Samsung has always named their releases. It's supposed to correspond with the month. All the information about the letter pattern can be found at SDX, I don't remember how it works off the top of my head.
correct.
g27 would be august 27th
i07 would be sept 7th

The rumors are true! Android 8.0.0 will officially launch on August 21st along with the day of the solar eclipse.
Information regarding the countdown can be located on the official android site at : https://www.android.com/eclipse/
Yes, old news and just two threads down from yours
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/how-to/evan-blass-pixel-o-week-august-21st-t3656083
I like your thread title better though.
It has been confirm by evan blast that it will be OREO
Will this just be an announcement or does the official release date mean that we will get images and OTAs on the same day, or maybe on the September security patch day?

From what I know, the countdown is when they will reveal Android O and push the OTAs, although the OTAs may be delayed due to update delays and such.
If that's the name of the latest Wi-Fi bug discovered recently...
I updated with no problem but wanted confirmation this had been fixed.
Edit: yeah, that's the name https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KRACK

Yes. Google is your friend.
... right.
But XDA is my best friend!
Jokes apart, I searched in this forum and not finding anything I thought it hadn't been covered elsewhere. I was wrong. Sorry.
A different question. Is it normal that Nexus 6P is not getting November 6th 2017 security patch level but only November 5th 2017?

Is the latest update on the Nov 5th or 6th patch? Google's announcement states the Nov 6th security patch specifically resolves this exploit:
https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2017-11-01#top_of_page
Edit: I'm still on 7.1.2 but I've seen some 5X/6P folks say we're on Nov 5th patch level.

Yes, the November update for the 6P has the November 5th patch date, and so it does appear that the 6P didn't catch it this month. It was only this morning that I went back to discover it was not on the 6th, and so my earlier response was incorrect. I just assumed we had the patch latest date... because we always have in the past. Sorry for that.
Previously, the patch levels have always been the 1st and 5th. This is the first time I know of that there were three patch level dates, and the notes are clear the KRACK vulnerability is addressed in the November 6th patch. Other supported devices may have received the 6th patch level this month. Looks like the 6P will have to wait until next month (or 8.1 DP2).

All good. Hopefully Google will push another factory image for Nov 6th. It's weird there is no mention of the KRACK vulnerability on the Pixel/Nexus specific bulletin below:
https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/pixel/2017-11-01
But there is on the Android security bulletin I linked in my last post. Maybe that is to distinguish that the vulnerability is Android wide? I do think it would help clarify that they addressed this on Pixel/Nexus devices per the respective bulletin. Guess we'll see if another image is released this month.
Edit: Extra info about the Pixel/Nexus specific security bulletins btw:

This is why I was asking about this being normal. By reading the release notes I suspected KRACK fix was not included.
Not patching KRACK in November seems like a bad joke to me. They explicitly promised to patch it in the November patch...
Anyone having idea when oreo will be released for our device? Confirmation from Google?
December 2017
Company has said to provide update before 2018 so we can expect during half of December maybe???
I thought it'll be on November? Now it's moved go December? That's sad. And they haven't released the kernel sources too.
We have not even gotten the november security patch yet

Security roll out post 15th of the month. So we may receive it in week or so.
I hope this update isn't crap. I plugged my SM-T813 into SmartSwitch to do a backup, and it said there was an update available. It is version T813XXS2BRB1/T813XAR2BRB1. It is only 60MB, so clearly not a major android version change. I'd put up a screen shot of the What's New, but it is utterly useless. It only gives a completely generic "A software update can include..." statement. January 1, 2018 security patch level, which is good.
Other than the expected extra long reboot, I don't notice any difference. Except for the rainbows shooting out of the top of the tablet, and the fresh spring scent it's emitting. That's new.
Yep, I got the same one yesterday.
It's just the quarterly security update - boosts you to the January security date. I haven't noticed any other changes so far.
Got this update today March 5 2018. I have a tab s2 t810. My update was over 300mb. I was thinking I was getting the Oreo update but I was wrong.
Downloading new update right now... 378.85 MB
Version T813XXU2BRB2
the only change i seen from this update was a different updated splash screen. i cant beleve it took till March to get a security update from January. i really wish google still made affordable nexus and pixel tablets
Leaks suggest that August 20 2018 Google will release Official Android P.. name is still unclear but it will be the name of a dessert (treat) starting with P.
Last few Android major releases were all released at about this time in August, so this makes sense. Then we will get a .1 bump when Pixel 3 is released in November.

If I remember rightly Oreo was released on 21st so makes probably would call this leak legit
Seems about right. Google said it would be released in the 3rd quarter and last year Android O was released August 21st.
Official Android p is coming this month signs of release
Now I've been paying attention to Google I know every month on the 5th Google releases a security patch update well I believe that Augusts security patch will only be included in the official Android p update coming later this month on the 20th..
