[Q] Who has link of Footprint apk for Desire - Desire Themes and Apps

I flash a new rom, but whose footprint is not available. I really like this app but can't find on internet.....

You can take it in a rom like Leedroid. Take it directly in the zip. (I think you might have a sense rom to work)

i get footprint from another rom, and move to my sd to install, but shows can't

[Q] Just put 2.3 on my HD2, prefer 2.2?

Hello guys,
Very new to the flashing business, I decided to have a play with "NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.2" Android2.3.2 but I think I prefer 2.2. 2.2 had more of an HTC feel to it, I like the flip clock and the weather animations, live HTC wallpapers too.
Can I bring these features into 2.3?
Many thanks

Shame
Do you know if these's a ROM to support my HD2 (512mb) that'll copy the HTC Desire HD's layout?
Thanks

yea u can flash the latest clockwordmod recovery with 400mb. then download a .zip ROM to ur sd card. reboot into clockwork and install from zip.
theres a few more steps but youd be able to find the answers in the rom thread ur looking to download.

I'm not to familar with the Clockwordmod and how to flash like that. I've only ever flashed using MAGLDR which seems to be very easy so far.
I've seen lots of talk of flashing from the SD card and things but I do like the idea of the OS running of the NAND rather than an SD card.
Thanks again.
flashing thru clockwork is similiar to nand flashing. in fact, it IS flashing to ur nand, the only difference is that u have a backup on ur SD card whenever u need to re-install or reboot instead of using ur computer to re-flash ur rom.
so basically, instead of flashing from computer to nand its flashing from sd to nand.

I believe we will see HTC make Sense available for Gingerbread. There's a few articles floating around about it, just do a search in Google.

You mean AT & T finally released 2.2 for Aria? Holy crap! I have CM so I could care less, but my wife's phone needs an update.

If your wife's phone is rooted and you install this, you will lose root. If that's not a big deal, then go for it.
does the update delete everything on your phone?
if so, how do u backup/restore stuff? and how do you get the apps/games u purchased back without rebuying?
any other issues to know about? does the update reinstall att bloatware? do i have to put it back to stock to update?
i rooted to uninstall that stuff and to be able to install 3rd party apps, but never used a custom rom.
i'd really like to be able to use my 8gb sd card for apps since i have no space, so i am thinking of updating now and rooting later once it's available.
Why does everyone pay for apps that's what 4shared is for :-D

If you are already rooted, then you should seriously look at and consider Liberated Aria FR008. This ROM is based off the European Gratia complete with HTC Sense and does not have any AT&T bloatware, has an OC kernel and also used Dark Tremors Apps2SD which is much better than the native Froyo App2SD feature. If you like HTC Sense and want the Froyo 2.2 features, then this is the ROM to use.
If you choose to install the AT&T Froyo 2.2 update, it will wipe your phone clean and you will loose root and you will be stuck with all of the AT&T bloatware with no way to remove it.
For apps that you bought and paid for in the Market, these apps are tied to your gmail account, so if you reset your phone, you can reload the apps from the Market without any additional charges.

where do i get this rom, instructions? what about the cm7 2.3 version?
will using roms delete anything currently on my phone?
also, the wife has an aria. i guess she should just use the regular update, all she probably cares about are her contacts. how would she back these up?

Yes, flashing a new ROM will usually delete anything currently on your phone. If you are rooted, You can use "My Backup Root" to save your apps and settings, text messages and phone log and then restore them after you flash a new ROM.
Here is the official thread about CM 7 RC1:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=956223
Here is where you can download CM 7 RC1 and the nightly updates. Starting with Nightly 11 the code base is now Android 2.3.3.

i was waiting for this official 2.2 update for some reason, but now i realize i shoulda just used a rom. so i can backup with myroot (which i already have), but i'll have to reinstall the app before i can restore? reinstalling wont overwrite the backup folders on my sd card will it?

Yes, if you backup with myroot, you have to reinstall myroot from the Market and then you can restore the backup. Flashing a new ROM will not wipe anything on your SD card.
For contacts you can export them to your SD card or sync them with your Gmail account. If you export them to your SIM card, the CM 6/7 ROMs cannot read them off the SIM card.

CM 7 is based on Android Open Source Project code. It is almost as pure Android as you can get UI and interface wise. You can still customize the UI with widgets and such, especially if you buy some from the Market. So bottom line is with CM 7 you can customize the phone however you like.
HTC Sense is the UI that is built into the stock Aria and now the AT&T Froyo update. That UI uses special widgets developed by HTC to enhance the user experience and these widgets only run on an HTC Sense ROM. Will you miss Sense? It's hard to say. It's really a personal preference.

i dont think i'll miss it after reading some more on it.
so do i have to start off with the original update-cm-7.0.0-RC1-Liberty-signed.zip
then update to a nightly, or can i just start off with the most recent nightly? wasn't sure since they are about the same MB size.
also, what about this app2sd dark tremor thing. do i need that? why is it better than the regular app2sd?

You can just flash the latest CM 7 nightly, but you need to follow the installation steps listed in the CM 7 RC1 thread first (i.e. format system, format data, format cache, etc.).
DT Apps2SD isn't as big of deal if you are going to run CM 7 IMO. If you were going to use the Liberated FR008 Sense ROM I would recommend it because it does a better job than the Froyo 2.2 APP2SD.

Gingerbread, Sense 3.0 and Ext3/Ext4

I am seeing lots of great new ROMs showing up running Gingerbread, and Sense 3.0. What I am not seeing are ones that work well with the EU versions of the phone. I understand that the EU version has less memory.
What ever happened to EXT3 or EXT4 partitions? I don't see any of the new ROMs using this?
I see chefs claiming that their ROMs work on the EU versions, but the reality is that there is nothing left to install any apps.
Am I jumping the gun here? are there any ROMs being made that work with EXT3/EXT4?
I have tried several, and have had to go back to an older Froyo build, that by the way, uses these EXT partitions very well.
If I am out of line, I apologize in advance. Just a little curious if anything is being done in this direction.
They pretty much all use ext. If a rom says ap2sd or app2sd+ or data2sd or anything similar, then it uses ext.
app2sd
None of them really appear to use it. I have tried several, and am out of space as soon as it is finished installing. Not having that issue on my Froyo install.

Hi,
I'm using the one in my sig.
I started with about 150MB of free internal memory and about 500MB free on my EXT.
You might want ti try an app called SuperBox.Great little multi-tool app.
It has the option of moving most of my apps to the sd card, freeing up some valuable internal memory.
Hi!
What if I don't need the latest Sense (3.0)? Which one is the most stable with 2.0?

the rom in your sig is in fact not a sense 3.0 rom but a sense 2.1 rom which
Includes portions of Sense 3.0 (LockScreen, Wallpapers, USB Dialog, TaskManager, Weather, Messages
theres a big difference in the 2
EXT partition
BoyPPC's version, which force closed constantly, and Derek0228's. Derek0228's ran ok, but failed to use the EXT partition. I was left with 1 meg for apps. I already have a EXT3 partition that's 1 gig in size, and both failed to use it.
I'll give dungphps's a try this weekend. I have never heard of rcmix. I even looked for that name after you brought it up, and didn't see it listed.

this is the link for the rcmix ..but again like the sense of eclipse it is sense 2.1 with parts
from sense 3.0
Dungs and AngelDeaths and Dereks and boyppc are the only ones with full sense 3.0

Perhaps your ext isn't configured correctly? It and the fat partition must be in the correct order, fat32 first, ext second else it won't work.
why ppl manual partition the sd card?
just use cwm to do this ^^

Beta Test for BootManager(multi-boot app)

We've gotten alot of response from the Desire community so thank you all for your help. At this time we do not need any more testers for the desire. BootManager should be updated with support for the Htc Desire in the next few days. The app currently won't support rom's that use apps2sd and data2sd but our team is working on getting support for those as well. Thanks.
Hey guys my team has developed an app called bootmanager which went into the market today. The app let's you install rom's to your sdcard and boot between them. I had originally done an inc only version here that used your recovery for installing rom's. The new app installs the rom's directly through the app and then let's you boot between them. Anyway on to the point of this post...i'm looking for 1 or 2 beta testers to add support for the desire. You'll need a little knowledge of adb, root of course, and just a little bit of patience. So far has worked pretty well on every htc device wev'e tried so I'm confident we can add support for the desire as well. You can get a little more info about the app from the link in my sig or looking at it in the market. If your interested pm me so I can get the info needed for the desire(.i.e partition sizes and a few other things that i'll tell you how to find in adb) and I'll send the apk for you to try. Thanks for your help....
Very interesting app! Would hboot have to be compatible (ie right size) with all the installed roms or as they are installed to SD does it not matter?

by hboot your refferring to the bootloader? This doesn't change the bootloader. It makes img's on your sdcard which hold your system/data/cache files for the rom, then it edits the boot.img for that rom to point to those img's when booting. Then the app flashes the boot.img for the rom you want to boot too.
I would be very interested in trying this out as I pretty much change my ROM on a daily to weekly basis haha, I just can't stop! This would be a good way to nurture my need for all the ROMs I switch between all of the time.
Would this app work on a non rooted phone? I mean having the stock ROM in the phone and a rooted one on the SDcard. But I guess it wouln't...

No you need an unlocked bootloader to switch the boot.img. And root to do a number of other things involved in setting up the rom.

Once you go MIUI you don't go back I can't bring myself to use anything else LOL!
Oh I tried MIUI-XJ, it's nice to know that you're happy with it ^^ I used it for about three to four days and felt that I was using an iPhone more so than an Android and I prefer the feel/look of Android devices... I loved being able to theme it so easily, though. I like the transparency mods in NeoPhyte ROMs and bits and pieces of many others... I should just figure out how to make my own.
I hope that you got my response, Conap! My sent items folder said I hadn't sent anything but I am most positive that I did so I will wait to hear back from you =D.
Yeah, sure I could help with the testing... Do you want somebody with that knows ADB etc..?
got Miui XJ on phone rom and tried to boot CM7.
working without problems so far!
thank you. gonna look into this now
Should we run the update after the rom has been installed, so it updates the boot.img ? Haven't tried running the update.zip directly from bootmanager yet, but works fine from recovery.

[Q] Choose Rom Android

hello, I tried to find an android Rom, to make dual boot with windows mobile 6.5, my difficulty is to find, a more recent and functional version possible (perhaps by not understand English very well), just do not even know which one to choose, grateful if I could help me.
edit: I find this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1401767 before post, this is just one of the reasons why i was in doubt, is very well done, for who knows what the best kernel, or even a Rom, but for me, i decided to install an Android Rom on my HD2, in the last 5 days, is not going well, you know?
Hmm from what I understood u want a good Rom with a good kernel and not sure what to choose right??

For sense 3.5 there was one updated by boxmax just 2 days ago but I haven't tried it....as for kernels, the Rom u choose would probably have a good one but If u don't like it you can always change
Hope I answred ur question

edit: great Rom, but i'm having problems installing apps...
What exactly is your problem?
do you have acces to the Market?
Let me transfer the first app, the others says, it will do, open the transfer bar, but does not even begin, it seems that i dont have space, is that the transfer is made to the internal memory? (I have a lot of space in memory card...)
P.S. - sorry, my english...
edit: i try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1585420 works fine until now (no problem, install/tranfer apps), but i realy like the other one...
if you don't use any app2sd script , the app will be automatically saved on your internal memory.
Try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21195341&postcount=207
but be sure, you have a ext partition on your sd card.
you can create it with the normal cwm recovery
Edit: i attached the script
Thanks, i will try this...
Edit: Well I tried this: ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824154 ) first, because it seemed simpler, and it worked very well (5*), thanks anyway to everyone, and for everything, by the way, something else, what program i choose to see mp4, with subtitles, without delay, on HD2?
