Can we enable fastboot after the phone is rooted? I know it had to be off during rooting but I haven't seen anything about being able to turn it back on after. The phone does come on really fast with it on and really do miss it..hope it can be turned back on after root

I don't see why not. All it is is a kind of hibernate state(forgive the windows speek).
That's what I was thinking but thought there would be something more to it since it had to be off to root it

Think it just had to be off for root since the process involved full restarts/shutdowns & with it enabled the phone would've gone into "hibernate" vs full shutdown.
Should be fine to re-enable now that you have perm root.

You didn't have to turn it off if you choose restart. Fastboot was for when you hit power off, it didn't actually power off. Restarting goes through an actual restart. Rooted 3 phones now, 2 of them I left fast boot on.

Make sure usb debugging is enabled on your phone. Before using the one click package reboot the phone while connected to usb. Profit.

One thing i saw, not sure if it makes a difference... but since dl09 its recommended to edit the "start root" file to change pm sleep 60 to 120, this adds a longer pause between reboots, apparently helps

The way I got it working was running the 1-click, after the first restart I pulled the USB plug then waited until I got to unlock screen, then plugged it back in. Unlock, then waited for finalization.

You can look at other forums about the same problem and a few tricks you can try. It can be something as simple as replacing the battery.

Your phone got disconnected when using odin
Well it kinda of a hassle to get the computr to read it, and get it into download mode, but I can assure you your phone isn't bricked! just keep trying

I had this problem before also, I fixed it by rebooting my PC, and then booting into download mode, and Odin back to stock. It did take a few tries though.

I've had this before. You need to purge the power in your phone. Take battery out and hold down the power button a few times.
This will purge power and memory.
Then boot into download. # 1 and power and then odin.

Try using different usb ports. After rebooting the computer. The pc will try to find ur phone again but if u get it to the download screen. Its just the matter of getting odin to work for you

I had my phone do the exact same thing (die during flash). What you can try doing is leaving your battery out overnight, and in the morning, plug the phone in to your computer/wall, then plug your battery in.
Really what you need is to get your battery charged. If worse comes to worse, you could go to a Sprint Store, and tell them your phone died and you don't have insurance, and ask them to charge your battery, OR if you know someone else with your phone you could swap.

This is how I have delt with the same problem.. that and rebooting computer with phone still plugged in, with battery removed
I've Odin'd before and had the process freeze in the process and was forced to pull my battery in the middle. I got that same symbol described with the pc and the cell phone when trying to use the phone again after putting the battery back in. All I had to do was pull the battery again to get it back into download made.

I was pressing random buttons on my phone when it suddenly turned off. I was pressing Power + Vol Down + Trackpad at the time when it turned off. I booted up the phone and reproduced the same results again.
Did I just discover this or does everyone know?
That's the easy way to turn off the phone.

Hey, I'm new to the site and relatively new to Android. I had a Nexus One for a while, got rid of it due to not having a decent way to sync music to the phone and got an i*hone. Had that for about a year and just got rid of it since I was tired of living in the walled garden and got an HTC Incredible.
Also, my phone just froze up on me and I used this trick to shut it down and then restart it. Way easier than having to pull the battery and then restart. Thanks for the tip!!

Welcome to the site! I'm sure that you'll love the Incredible much more than the iPhony
I didn't know that it worked during a freeze also. I guess I'll do that instead of a battery pull the next time I press the "freeze for 5 minutes" button in Dev Tools on accident.

It boots the phone into a mode where no apps besides system apps boot up, so u vs unistall any apps that prevent the phone from booting like set CPU if you overclock to high

cool tip, wish i knew this before i had to do my first battery pull...
after flash to stock ,phone stop on vibrant screen and this
whoa, i have never seen that before. i'm sure the dev's here have.
try to hold down power to reboot/reset. if not, pull the battery, get back into d/l mode and ODIN again to be safe.
you might have missed a step or something during your ODIN flash. post your steps you did.
You clearly missed step 2. Which was to remove that pesky little tab. ;-)

On a serious note, what exactly did you do to go "back to stock"?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
i've had that screen before when i was messing with framework pngs and whatnot.
theres 2 solutions:
do the download mode method and get into it.
-that may be the download mode itself, so just connect to odin and see if your phone is seen as a downloadmode?
I had this awhile back. It scared me a little bit because I have to play around to get to download mode a few times so I can get back to odin.
i get this everytime my phone crashes on my revolution rom.... i startes getting it when i flashed the 2.2 froyo bootloader.

Yep . Same exact thing happened to me when running rom revolution and flashing back to a froyo bootloader.
I had this same thing the other day. check to make sure your cable going to your computer is good. I was holding vol-up and vol-dn and trying to get into download but it would bring up this screen instead. switch cables and see if that helps.
I had this awhile back with trigger my phone just stopped working and that screen appeared, i think it's a kernel crash i just held power down or pulled the battery and it was fine when it rebooted i haven't had it happen for a few months. Ya it scared the crap out of me ;-)

Try plugging it into a different charger and see if it powers on, or into a computer and see if it is recognized and just acting weird.
Try holding power and volume down and maybe itll go into the boot loader... if not might have to take it back
Check this post. May help.

Not really actually. I helped my friend with hardware issues..he had to send his 7 in so we used wug fresh toolkit to flash stock and unroot then OEM lock the boot loader... google/Asus had no idea. I have also heard that if its bad enough shape(like won't EVER turn on) then they don't know I assume they somehow get the boot loader back on there and just reflash firmware.
