I created an application that loads a url. Problem is when I click a link in it - the progress bar shows up, showing the url it is going to. Is there anyway to remove/not show a url when its clicked and goes to the new url?

This is just an idea.. but I think it would be nice to be able to setup the background of the Today Screen to a web page.
possible uses are:
1) webcams image pages that are updated every minute
2) traffic pages that are updated every minute etc.
3) other type web mini dashboards
etc.
possible options are
1) reload every xmin
2) reload olny when there is a open data connection
3) reload schedule
3) green icon in bottom left if last refreshed < 1min
etc

Tap/hold/save image(pop up) on the webpage, find saved image, tap on file, tap menu, tap set as today background. For the best background image should be set at "0", click OK(on top), this can also be done going to IE5 temporary internet files and following the same above procedures.

To have the whole webpage as tbg, capture the page using a screen capture utility, find the capture in file explorer, tap, menu, set as today background.

As an example, I'm using this webpage (1) as a today background. Pict. 2 is the page that comes up after "set as today background" from menu at bottom right.
I dont think he wants a screen shot of the webpage.
Im guessing he wants an active webpage as the background, much like the windows active desktop thing. Its a great idea and i would personally use this.
an active desktop kinda thingy is not present for windows mobile, but i guess there can be a "workaround'. e.g., a program can pull an image from a server every x seconds and change ur background with it.
Sometime down the line (if this has not already been done by then) I might include this in my timed wallpaper/theme cycler proggie..
if you follow the instructions from ms on using the compact framework to create a today item you will end up with a web page item. It would then be a more simple task to load content from the internet. I know it can work because i did it a while ago. I got as far as using html to set the window colour then went back to purely native today items.
Warning: it is a major pain in the back side to do that project. It involves a managed side and a native side that work together.
Id like an active webpage, but an active image from a web site refreshed on an interval would be nice

Hey Guys,
I'm running MightyROM6 (and loving it, thanks Mike) but as soon as I flashed it, I was missing the weather tab. I'm always looking at the weather for work, so I started searching for a weather tab.
I found Showaco TitaniumWeather 4.2 and read about them and installed. I read the reports from many people that they get nothing but the red icons....I do too.
Here is the process that I've done:
Download Cab.
Disable 'Windows Default' in the items tab of the system settings.
Install Cab.
Soft Reset.
Enable Windows Default.
It wasnt working so I did some more searching and found out about the mortscript deal, so I put the new mortscript file in the program files/titanium weather folder and it worked...sort of
Now I can have my current weather, and my weekly forecast but I still have the red X icons. Also, I dont know how to get the Radar to work. Additionally, when I click the widget, there is an error message.
I'm going to go through the whole process and repost all of the error messages I'm getting...
Thanks for reviewing this.
Mitch

immediately upon soft reset: ".mscr and .mortrun extensions registered. Please run any .mscr/.mortrun file or read the manual."
*my response to this is to overwrite the .mscr file called TitaniumWeather.mscr, then soft reset again.
**i still have the message

"setup needed" this is the first thing I see in the tab.
*my response is to click menu>enter my zip for the city, enable auto updates, choose my icons from the icon pack i downloaded, click save/exit>full update
and gull durn it I have my icons after like eight times of trying this...
BUT
message 3 (when selecting the radar)
"An error occurred on sub_main_nextimage_click. Value does not fall within the expected range. Continue? (I click yes)
*Now I'm going to press and hold on the radar 'map' (which is just a grey screen) until I get to edit the url. WHAT URL DO I USE! weird...

on clicking zoom out, a dialogue box flashed like eight times and then: "An error occurred on sub_main_zoomcontrol. StackOverflowException Continue?" (I'm going to assume that this is because I tried to zoom out of a map that doesnt exist)
message 5
on clicking the msn weather widget: "Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename." I'm assuming this is because I need to enter another URL somewhere?
I made the mistake of changing my home page, and I've lost the default custom Android Google search page (with the location options).
Can someone please post it for me?
try goin to www.google.com/m
That's what I changed it back to, but even though I have the Location information enabled in settings, and "www .google. com" is allowed access to my location information, I don't see the new "Near Me Now" feature or any location options on Google?
I can remember before the default URL had some "client" information passing to Google ... "?client=android" or something like that ...
Just checked my phone (which I just flashed) and the default seems to be:
http: //www. google .com/m ? client=ms-android-google & source=android-home
Hope that helps
EDIT: I added the spaces so you could see all the address instead of having to look at the status bar or copying the link location, don't enter the spaces on the phone ofc =P
I just upgraded to HD2 and found that some quicklinks icons are no longer what it originally looked like. Using a reg editor, I found the key - "HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/0/IconPath" has the value \Windows
Starhub_GEE_logo_120.qtc". By the way, I installed the 16 links cab instead of the original 9 links.
However, the icon had changed to something that looked like the webpage that the link points to. Likewise for the Web Browser tab, in which the icon changed to a screenshot of the web page.
How can I get back the original icon? Having a webpage-shot as a link sucks and I'd rather it show a pictorial icon instead. Any easy way to get this back?
Like the browser links, is there anyway to show, say, a logo of the webpage instead of the page itself?
As far as I am aware web links are always displayed as a shot of the actual page you are linking to, with the exception of the 'Launch Browser' icon.
Does anyone know how to change the internet favorite icons on the HD2? I set my link and the icon shows a picture of an internet site that isn't the favorite.
Sometimes the picture doesn't even come up. It's still the empty black box with the name of the favorite in it.
After you set it as a favorite in the visual bookmarks, you have to shutdown the browser, then open it using the new tab. After that, it will show the first page of the site thats assigned to that tab.
If you want to get rid of the existing site on a tab, just long press on it then drag it to the edge till it turns red. Tab is now empty and ready for a new bookmark assignment.
Hope that helps
I tried that. It worked for most of the icons but there are a couple that keep putting up the Wikipedia page for a favorite that isn't Wikipedia. It's super annoying.
