-- Making some cool theme ieas in the theme section
-- Dessuss the accesories that look good/bad in thee accessories sections
-- Looking for cool new apps (thats always fun)
-- Pass the time catting to fellow HD owners to be in irc (freenode #DesireHD)
-- Reading this thred you probably spent 10-15 seconds reading this you have now gotten 10-15 seconds closer to getting your phones (yay !)

Well guys I am going to buy a desire 2nd hand and then see what the reviews say about the DHD and make a decision then.
After all how much can I lose £50???
I just purchased desire brand new £250.00 already sold to someone for the end of the month pickup.

I just got pipped at the post on ebay. I dont mind paying £250 but its difficult finding one at the right price.

The iPhone really sucks. You have to wait for a jailbreak (and that's going to take a while) and you can't tweak the iPhone. Just wait for the HD.

A bit extreme - personally, I will never use a "closed" device again. Android is the light in the Apple Dark.
Well guys I bought myself a second hand Desire this morning and the seller rang me up to confirrm despatch.
The great news is that I can get rid of my iPhone 3GS and have use of a "better" phone for me.
That means that I can be less anxious about the DHD release but will wait for the reviews etc and then decide whether to skip the DHD for the new dual core phones out post xmas and which should run Andriod 3.0

OK....so you guys wont believe this.....
I live in NewYork....(flushing) to be precise...which is an area dominant by chinese people....
so I took the subway.....and it was jam packed.....
but thats not it.....
about like a metre away from me I saw a chinese dude with a huge ass phone in his hand....i was kinda curious to know what phone it was untill he flipped it over to do something and I saw....the HD2 buttons.....and thot.....no big deal...i have a HD2 too.....
BUT TO MY SURPRISE !!
I SAW WP7 running on his phone.......he had the Zune music player on it....
NOW i know a lot of you guys will be like....ohhh it might have been a theme or an add on !!
but ! NO
he pressed the start button and it had the same transition.....he even pressed the VOlume UP button and I saw the Notification feature on top of the screen in WP7.....
I so wanted to talk to him about it...but the train was packed and the dude left at the next stop....
now I want to know what you guys think about this ???

if you ever are in a position like I was today...you would come to know...how tough it is to take your camera out and snap a pic or a video with like 50 people around u in a jam packed subway car !! come to NewYOrk once and I will make u experience this !!
Seems like every chinese person around the globe is running WP7 perfectly on their HD2....except the fine folks here at XDA.

I am thinking of getting this phone but if heard some bad things about it. ive had non stop issues with phones since the HTC mogul. i had the HTC mogul replaced 9 times due to keyboard failures, then HTC touch they sent me and HATED it, then they sent me HTC touch pro and it was decent but had it replace 23 times due to keyboard issues even after the redesign of them. then i got the palm pre and after the 3rd replacement they gave me a HTC Hero which i love. but i dont like how slow it is tho but the style and sense system i really like..
so is getting the HTC evo a good idea?

with verizon i had 39 replacements in 2 years (i broke the front screen of one of those phones, everything else wasn't my fault) Since switching to sprint i had one replacement since june.
If you liked the Hero you will love the Evo has all of the features and so much more, plus FASTER!
Go for it, there is always the 30 day return option.

lol the 23 replacements were with in 6 month's. they were internal issues. i always use a case, screen protectors. i am very careful with these phones since there so damn expensive
im looking for something as close to the Hero as possible. ive heard alot of good about the Evo, but also alot of bad.

I have never had to replace a phone -- I guess that's just me though. All I know is that if I ever had that much trouble with a phone maker, I would never again buy their product.
Edit: I have never had an issue with my Evo and I have done a lot of flashing. I have also switched 10 of my friends to an Evo and the only complaint has been battery life - which was easily handled with rooting.

i really enjoy the HTC phones and the things i can do with them. and with the android system im am very pleased. i just always get lemons. im not exactly on the lucky side lol. but i have had no issues with the HTC hero. only issue i screw up loading a new rom and it locked the phone up but i fixxed it.
I had a hero before my evo too. I loved that phone to death, but it was so damn slow. So when the evo came out I got it, and ive only had 1 replacement since july because the phone broke inside. Overall this phone is amazing. I dont have any problems with battery and the phone is super fast. Definitely get this phone!!!

@ Maximiano, i kno i keep going back to HTC but its the style of them i like. im bound to get a good one eventually and the hero has worked so far. as for the battery..... im use to it. the palm pre had a HORRID battery life. i was lucky to make it 4 hours out of the few i had.
Well I think the battery on the Evo is good. I unplug my phone at 6am every day and plug it in at 10pm every day. At 6pm im at 50% so this phone holds up durring the day. As for use:
30 mins of calling
50 txt
5 emails
20 mins of internet
Angry birds 20 mins
(Angry birds ****s on the battery)

Honestly i say yes. The Evo feels good, its fast. Even stock sense isn't that bad. You have the option to root your phone, can stay on a sense rom, and with different kernels, you can make your phone perform faster. The Evo is all touch, so no keyboard to replace.
lol angry birds rules. its so slow on the hero. but by the sounds of it. seems like its about the same life as my hero.
i do:
50-200 txt messaging.
15 emails
2 hours of music/movies
15 min-30 min of talk time.
15min-1 hour of a game. (zenonia, angry bird, ect.)

The EVO is an amazing device and you wont go wrong by getting it. The stock software is passable but we have an awesome development community here and a TON of great ROMs to choose from. That being said, im sure Sprint will be releasing its successor come summertime so if you can stand it, i would wait to see whats coming out. 22 months is a long time to wait for an upgrade so you'll be kicking yourself if you buy the EVO now only to have the EVO2 (or whatever it will be called) come out a few months into your new contract.

i kno of a few phones coming out later and 1 of them i guess has a duo core processor by the sounds of it. but i dont need nothin super fast. just something alot faster than the hero and the evo seems to be good. just was curious if it was a good idea. some of the replies here have helped me too. thank you all. i probably will be picking it up next week.

fedex is pretty quick! try 2-3 days for delivery.

My point was it would be more than one week, and you supported it
Re Fedex - what if the customs stop your package out of all, decide to open it, and then send you a bill for the customs fee? Such packages often spend extra 1-2 weeks at customs, and end up costing more to the recipients.
I have no info on the number of packages checked by the US customs though. I never ordered anything expensive from abroad. I bet the chances of customs intervention are very very low.

Looks very fast in that video, but in this video when its compared to the lg optimus 3d its dog slow, takes around 8 seconds to load the benchmark while the lg takes 1 second, could this be the dual channel memory advantage?

it could also be the pre-production model disadvantage. we will never know exactly what those pre prod models are doing and why they are so slow (relative to other dual cores PROD models). For sure Samsung has premature drivers on them, extra software that is logging everything for troubleshooting and performance follow up, etc. DO not even judge SGS2 by the pre prod models .

Lmao dual channel memory.. given that this LG has 512MB of RAM and that this "dual" thing means that it is cuted in two, there is not much left for it to shine vs the 1GB DDR2 RAM of the GSII...
it s just that it was a very early prototype of GSII, that's all story
Aren't they all prototypes? Even with paltry 512mb of ram that optimus 3d seems to load that game pretty quickly, almost too quickly you gotta admit that.

Hello my friends here at XDA!!
It brings me great sadness to say you wont really really see much of me round here for a while. I originally planned to make this thread in about a weeks time when i leave for my holiday to Florida for 2 weeks but im going to post now as today i have sent my beloved X10 for repair due to accidental damage. My x10 is not due back till wednesday, the day before i leave for my holidays.
This leaves me phoneless, i do not own a laptop and tbh i rarely have the patentience to use my **** old pc which sounds like its about to take off with the fan spinning so loudly! I odnt know if any of you notice but 99.999999999% of my posts and pm come from my xda premium app or tapatalk for this very reason!
On the plus side when i get back from my holidays i will be up for an upgrade on my contact and be able to get a better newer phone. When i find something i really like and want i will be leaving you guys. I will pop in of course to 'visit' and when i can i shall post before my holidays. I have a full time job and girlfriend and fairly active social life so dont expect to see much of me is all im saying and when the time comes to move on permananltly il leave you all know.
So really this is just to say you wont see much of me round here for perhaps about 3 weeks give or take a few days.

I want something brand new, not that sgs 2 is old but i want cutting edge newt time around and to follow developemt from the start. I dont like touch wiz and if i were to flash custom rom id want it to be like wb rom, remaining close to stock looks.

It is strange not seeing you around today as i know you will be missing all the fun of the bootloader unlock. What a time hey to get your phone drunk, i bet you not do that again mate lol.
Well i hope you get a phone sorted quick and that you enjoy your hols, maybe when you get back you can sort out another cheap x10 so you can play around with the unlocked bootloader with us all but if you get upgraded maybe you will not want to bother as you will have something better, well hopefully.
