[Q] Galaxy S vibrant plays back H264 video but lacks audio

So i downloaded two videos both in mp4 format encoded in h264 with acc audio, it plays the video fine (and looks amazing by the way) but there is no audio... any one care to help me figure this out?
IS the audio like 5.1? if o you gotta use headsets that supports 5.1 audio to hear it.
yes it is 5.1... hmmm i thought this would not be an issue as my computer plays it just fine, and converts it to 2 channel automatically?
is there a way to do this on the galaxy S or is there a way to convert 5.1 to 2 channel in the mp4??
never mind, a quick google helped me out... so for future reference guys: the i9000 cannot playback 5.1 audio natively
Thanks fr the heads up. I had this issue a while ago as well.
(1) Demux (extract) the audio stream with Yamb, (2) transcode the 5.1 AAC stream to 2 ch with MediaCoder Audio Edition, and (3) mux the 2ch AAC back into the MP4 w/ the H264 stream with Yamb. Since it only involves reencoding (transcoding) the audio, it doesn't take very long and the video quality will be unaffected
Yamb
Mediacoder Audio Edition
(1) Demux audio w/ Yamb:
(2) Transcode 6ch AAC to 2ch w/ mediacoder:
Note: Before being able to transcode 5.1 ch AAC to 2 ch you will have to find & paste a enc_aacplus.dll and nscrt.dll to the Mediacoder codecs folder (C:\Program Files\MediaCoder Audio Edition\codecs). If you have WinAmp installed you can find them in its installation folder or if you don't have WinAmp you can probably find them by doing a web search for "enc_aacplus.dll".
I found them linked in another vid forum comments at the first search result for me.
Also, the first time you try to run mediacoder it will open a webpage. You can just check the 'do not open next time mediacoder starts' box and then click 'open mediacoder' instead of doing the online setup.
(3) Mux 2ch & vid stream w/ Yamb:

Video player with selection of audio

Does anyone kow a video player where you can choose the audio channel you want? I have a lot of series in dual language, but for instance with rock player (gorgeous player) you can´t choose the audio channel.
Thanks in advance

Video converter for galaxy tab HELP

Anyone know of a good video converter? although its not really the video thats the problem at the moment, its the fact thats its multi channel, how can i make it stereo?
Thanks
If you use the inbuilt converter in Kies you can't go wrong.
yea but that inbuilt converter starts to change the video resolution and bitrate, i dont want it to do tht, all i want to change is the audio from multi channel to stereo
Handbrake is a good piece of software. It's free too.
Use the iPhone/iPod touch preset, then boost the resolution to max. Works for me.
Can you point me to a write up or some more info on this? I thought I could watch avi's on it and tried to load some last night but couldn't get it working.
Have you tried mkvideoplayer?
strange AC3 multi channel audio is working fine for me. Its only DTS that isnt working
dts will not work... in all other cases there are players that will help
What player are you using to get the multi channel audio to work?. handbrake doesnt let me just leave the video though, see i just want to change the audio to stereo and not touch the video

ffmpeg will probably do that. Have fun!
I use the pre-installed video player and it plays .avi and .flv and .m4v. Do I have the only device that plays all the formats?
No, mine does it also. We are the lucky ones ;-)
Sent from my Galaxy Tab using kung fu.
To MizGarfield and nobnut, What TAb version are you using GSM or CDMA and what ROM and KErnel? Wanna make sure that this issue (multi Channel audio unsupported) is not ROM or VERSION related!

using MK808 for media streaming?

does anyone have some experience doing this? i've got a pretty pricey sound system that im using a PS3 for streaming on right now, but due to some issues, it wont play some movies. do these sticks work good and support a full 5.1 DTS system for audio and video?
5.1 pass through is not supported - only downmix to PCM 2.0, unfortunately.

don't think so - on freaktab there is a thread with some details.

i thought it down streams to 2.0, reading all these posts people having issues, im still waiting for mine in the mail to open it up and look for the sound chip, but it will all be in that soc judging by the pics,
found a document about the rk3066 SOC but that would be depend on the unit you have - not sure if this is true

Media player that outputs lossless native sample rate to Chromecast Audio?

Does anybody know of a music player app that will output hi-res FLAC files to Chromecast Audio without down converting to 48khz besides the built in LG Music app? Using the LG app I can play a 24 bit 96khz file and send it to the Chromecast Audio connected via optical cable to my Sony AV amp and the display panel shows that the file is playing 'LINEAR PCM [96kHz]' so I know that the V20 hardware is capable of passing the hi res files to the Chromecast. However, the native LG Music player is pretty awful a far as features and playlist support. I can use the built in Android screen casting feature to send audio and then use any app (including my preferred Poweramp alpha), but then all audio is downconverted to 48kHz.
Any other decent apps besides LG Music that offer casting?
