Hello guys,
I have a Hero with official android installed(updated too), no rooted... It´s unbranded.
My question is:
Everytime i receive a MMS it just gets 1kb picture.
I read a lot of threads about it and found a lot of apk files to modify the useragent.
To install those files, my device needs to be rooted?
If it needs to be rooted, is there another way(i dont want to root)?
Thanks
Sérgio
edit: I rooted my phone... but still don´t know what or how to do... Please, help!
no one can help me with that?
I had this same problem a while back.... you get a MMS msg which is 1kb in size that you cant open!
It turned out.. it wasnt a MMS message at all... someone had sent me a text that was too long to fit in a SMS, so it was converted to MMS. I forget how i fixed it.. maybe i changed something in the MMS settings. Have changed ROM's so many times now i dont know where/what i changed. or might have contacted my carrier to send me MMS settings.
Make sure your phone is set up to reccieve MMS from your carrier! I think thats what fixed the problem for me.. not 100% sure tho

Hi,
I'm using a Sim Free Touch Diamond 2 on T-Mobile UK. Got a strange problem going on at the moment.
When someone sends me an SMS (From any network T-Mobile, Orange, O2 etc). I usually get the MMS with the picture downloaded within a couple of minutes. I can view this on the phone as you would expect. BUT, two days later I will then receive a TXT from T-Mobile saying that someone has send me a MMS, please go to http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/pmcollect - When I go and login the same picture message is waiting for me...?
Anyone else had this problem? Strange thing is that this only appears to have started happening since I returned from a trip to europe.
I've tried T-Mobile customer service - all they can suggest is that this is probably a setting on the handset....
Can anyone help or throw any light on this?
Cheers,
A.
Hi
I am having the same problem.and also experiancing sms coming through late or not at all. however i actualy work for T-Mobile.. and know its not a problem with the D2..it is more likely network issues. but am not aware of any issues..i will speak to technical next time i can and will let you know what they say..i is starting to bug me as well but it is some thing that started for me back in June and i was using my D1 at the time..
Hi there,
I have a similar problem.
When I receive a MMS I only get a sms/text notification saying that I have received a MMS and that I have to go to the t-mobile website. I can't view the mms on my phone.
Is this because I need to install a program to view the MMS?
I am able to send MMS, I just sent a MMS to myself and I received it without a problem, but as a sms/text message, not the MMS itself.
Really annoying!
Hoping to get an answer.
Cheers!
It sound like a problem with your settings...
Go to the t-mobile website :
http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-support/index?page=home&cat=SOFTWAREDOWNLOADS
and send the settings to the phone once installed do a soft reset.
you should install both MMS and internet settings...
if this still doesnt work then you may have to try setting them up manualy ..
Heres a link to the manual on how to do it and the settings you need:
http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-support/index?page=selectphone&phone=HA176
if that still doesnt work you will need to call customer service there maybe a problem with the settings on your account. tell them you have done the above steps cos they will want to do them again with you and if you get someone in the phillipines this not a easy task.. they should transfer you to technical support and they will sort it..
any more problems just ask as i have worked for T-Mobile for nearly 4 years..
Thank you!!
It worked!! Thank you very much!
The first option didn't work as I have a dutch number. I did try to send the mms options to my phone via the dutch t-mobile site but they don't have the settings yet for this phone!
I then googled for "t-mobile mms instellingen" (settings) and I found them. Did it manually and now it works like a charm.
For the dutch people interested, here is the site with the settings:
https://www.t-mobile.nl/persoonlijk...lgestelde-vragen.aspx?q=algemene instellingen
Thanks for pointing me in that direction!!
Cheers!
You normally get that text about going to the website to get your MMS when the network thinks your phones not MMS compatible or you don't have MMS messaging live on your acc.
Hi sorry only just getting back..
managed to speak to technical and what they said is they need 5 examples.
date time number and postcode of area you where in.
so they can raise the problem and get your mms profile reset and should then be fine.

Are you running any SMS replacement apps like Handcent and such? If so did you delete the stock texting app?
If you did delete it, then that's your problem right there, apps like Handcent use the stock app to send and receive MMS.
Actually, I found what the problem was, it was the version of Froyo I had on. It was the old one. I reflashed to the new one and they send now
Hey i have the same problem can u help me out please!!!!!
(verizon motorola droid 2.1 rooted but flashed on metropcs) ok i was deleting files on my 16gb sd card an my phone rebooted all the way to sign in to google account i had to go look for a wifi connection to sign in an my internet an mms messages don't work any more an i was wondering can one of you guys help me out to put it back in were do i go to on the phone thanks .
Hi!
Sorry if there is alredy a similar topic for this. I searched before, but can't find any information to solve my problem.
I have an X8 / E15i, with 2.1 running on it.
BTW I've alredy rooted it, but the problem was the same before the rooting, too.
1. I can send SMS messages, but I can rarely receive some. Sometimes, I never get the message, sometimes there is a very big delay. HOW???
2. I can't use the MMS service. Can't send and can't receive, either.
My MMS configuration is good, data traffic is on, but modified the APN, to prevent expensive data costs (not the MMS APN!).
Please help me, if you know some solution to this
Thank you very much!!
Well regarding your problem that your not able to receive SMS - is your internal phone storage full? Do you see that warning in the notifications?
That's a pretty annoying issue Android still has, it also bothered me before...
Incoming SMS never reach you as long as your internal phone storage is full.
Try uninstalling some unnecessary apps and reboot the phone, if that's the case. And then: Wait. I had to wait like 24 hours until all the undelivered SMS finally reached me.
Aaaaaah, I can't believe that. It's a shame, but let's give a try
I uninstalled some, now I'm waiting. I hope it will be OK. Thanks a lot!
That's why I want to install app2sd, but I can't...I did everything they wrote to install it, but it's not working...and after that, my phone can't connect to WiFi.
So I restored it...
edit: my message arrived...you were right....it's a BIG BIG shame to SE
...but I still have the MMS problem...

try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014585
I haven´t found answer to that question. I searched everything. I tried everything in settings. I asked everywhere, but here. Hope someone will know, what is the problem.
JP7 was the last firmware, when MMS worked 100%.
Then jpx, jpy, js5, js7... MMS does not work properly.
Situation:
I can send MMS with no problem. Everything is fine.
I can receive and OPEN every MMS from my friends Galaxy S.
When someone send me MMS from Nokia i CAN receive and i CAN OPEN MMS which is smaller than 100kb. I am talking about size 100kb on senders(Nokia) telephone. If image on Nokia is lets say 104kb(everything above 100kb), i receive MMS, but i CANNOT open the image. If i press the "play" button, i get force close.
I really dont get, what is wrong. Because on JP7 i was able to receive and OPEN the SAME image from Nokia, but i CANNOT OPEN it now.
What could cause such problem? I tried everything - from auto/manual retrieve. I even made 2 APNs - one for internet, one for mms. Nothing helped.
I have the same issue. I long-hold the message, select attachments and download to sdcard to view them. But I would appreciate a solution as well.
Obviously, nobody had this problem.
So I can tell you, that after i upgrade firmware to 2.3.3 I can receive all kinds of MMS.
Everything is working fine now.

It migh be that you are messing in your firmware upgrades the standard MMS app with AOSP MMS, and that gives you Force Close.

Hey there,
I have an Unlocked Verizon HTC 10 running Viper10 5.11
I've been loving the phone and Viper10, but I must have overlooked something or maybe there was a glitch somewhere because I can't send MMS messages, and I'm pretty sure I haven't been able to since the beginning of using the phone (I immediately installed Viper10 after buying, never used it stock).
So my problem that I'm hoping someone can help me with is that I can't send MMS messages at all. If it helps, I installed Viper10 without the stock Messenger app, and I use Handcent for all texting. I'm using the default settings in Handcent for sending MMS which auto-downscales images to be 1MB if they are larger. But it fails to send anything over MMS regardless of size (it even fails to send pics/audio <100kb).
In trying to research the problem on my own, I've read that the issue might be related to some, any, or none of the following: Preferred Network, Network Preference, wrong APN settings, or incorrect firmware version for my setup.
So I'm a bit unclear on how to proceed. I'm hoping I can fix this without reinstalling Viper10 but if it comes to that I will.
I've attached screenshots that might be helpful. And I'm happy to provide more if it helps. I'm sure someone here knows how to get me in the right direction. Thanks!
