hello, i flashed my phone to energy X to can use android, now i dont like that energy so i wanna know is there a option to have my normal winmo 6.5 interface and everything in my Language (dutch) and still the option to boot android?
thnx, Iefem
yes thats possible.
you just need a radio above 2.07 (its necessary, that its a .50 and not a .51 one).
hf & gl
DN41
okay so if i just have the normal winmo and i upgrade to a other radio and i download like froyo 2.2 or something like that and i open the clrcad and the haret then it suppose to work?
btw i cant open clrcad?
and is there some tut how to downgrade to winmo 6.5 cause i have now the chuckyrom
you don't really downgrade to stock winmo, it's just another NBH file. You can get the stock roms with a short search in the WinMo roms sections here. You've already flashed at least one rom so the process is exactly the same, just with a different rom base.
clrcad when you open it appears to do nothing, don't worry. so long as you've clicked on it before haret you'll be fine.
so if i install a winmo rom and i have radio 12.50 it work?
thank you guys for the help, greetz iefen
Well that's some of the requirements yes. Please read the stickies in the development thread, they contain lots of helpful links, howto's and other good info.
sory but i cant find it. can you say the requirements of winmo 6.5 and android
and do u know where i can get other langeuge winmo 6.5's
thnx

Hi all,
I was wondering if you guys could help me getting Android on my HD2.
I've been digging this forum for several weeks now, there is so much information that I don't know what to do!
I've got a European HD2, not the T-Mobile one. The reason I would like to have Android running on it is because Windows 6.5 hangs quite often and it's too slow in my opinion.
After finding out how to check my SPL version, I found that I have 3.03.0000. Is it actually possible to run Android on it?
I've also seen some topics about dual boot and switching back and forth between Android and WM. That's not a requirement for me, I actually prefer just running Android without having the opportunity for WM.
Some specification which I don't know it's useful, but I'll post them anyway;
- OS Version; 5.2.21913 (21913.5.0.94)
- Manila-Version; 2.5.20181527.0
- ROM Version; 3.14.404.2 (04666) NLD
- ROM Date; 10/06/10
- Radio Version; 2.15.50.14
I would appreciate your help a lot!
Kind regards,
Jerome
Flash from SPL to HSPL might going to work, but work better with custom ROM along with the HSPL.
Some user reporting that they can run Android with their stock ROM and SPL, but I don't know. Try it. You should wait a few minute for the first boot....possible at least 5.
If it don't work, then I hope you use the statement I mention in the first sentence.
Could you tell me what do you and what SPL and HSPL is exactly?
I don't have much knowledge yet, but I'm willing to learn!
Thank you for your reply anyway!
If you are willing to learn then you best option is to actually read the threads that already exist instead of creating a pointless one.
First go into the HD2 Rom thread and learn how to get HSPL on your phone and a custom rom and updated radio.
After yu have done that come back to the Android sections and learn how to boot android.
First.. Check what ROM you have currently. By the looks of it with radio 2.15.50 you look to have the latest ROM from HTC installed. Unfortunately there is no HSPL Software for the latest ROM from HTC so you will have to downgrade your rom which will let you use HSPL3 (Linkage)
SPL is the "software" on your phone that stops you flashing non HTC Roms. You use a utility called HSPL (above) to install HSPL on your phone to enable you to flash a custom rom.
Once you have HSPL on you can them flash a custom rom from the forums. I use the OzDroid 1.11 as it has been very stable at running android.
Once that is Flashed to your phone you will need to choose which android version you require. I use MDJ FroYo HD V4.3. Download it and copy the ANDROID folder onto your SD Card.
Re-boot OzDroid and you will be presented with the Choose screen. Windows or Droid. Select Android and it will boot into android. You will need to wait 5-15 mins for android to boot on first run.
Hope this helps.

man its not that easy, if someone has little background knowledge in all this all the unfamiliar information and new terms can be too confusing. Sometimes you just have to ask questions...
...although i do understand that there are probably thousands of posts started by asking the same exact questions ("which is the best android rom for HD2")and that can actually make it that much harder to wrap ones head around.
Do you need WM ROM, or can u run just Android?

Q: Do you have to load a "custom rom", I assume you mean WM ROM?
Isn't there a way to load Android straight onto the EPROM Memory of your phone, so that only Android runs and not the full WM in the background? Surely that would save RAM and battery?
I found this thread useful, also trying to wade thru the info.
Thanks

no there isnt a way to do this yet without WM on the phone as well.
however, the "full WM" is not running in the background, its just needed to get the linux module started and then boot Android. Nothing is really "running in the background" but it is running from the sd card.
hope some of this helps.

Thanks for the reply.
Is there then a way to get both android and WM on the ROM of the HD2. Since its about 512MB, there won't be space for much else, but that should save the battery, since android wont be running from the SD card.
5haddex;
Thank you so incredible much on helping me here! I've got OzDroid running now, it looks awesome already, now I need to find my preferred Android built, but that shouldn't be a problem.
Again, thank you so much!
I've got OzDroid up and running now, works great too!
But when I try to boot into Android with the provided CleanDROID, or with CLRCAD and hared, the phone hangs after showing the command line;

Even when I let the phone untouched for 6 hours, it won't do anything.
I've tried several Android builds, also trying to "repair" startup.txt with CleanDROID which gives me an error too.
Any thoughts? Maybe try another custom rom? Any tips or links on that one?
Cheers
edit;
what about the EnergyROM with Sense 2.5 Reference?

I would appreciate your help a lot!
Different Android builds don't fix the problem too. HSPL 2.08 running..
I've changed my radio to 2.10, the HD2 proceeds to the HTC booting logo, but stays there for an hour now...
Any ideas?
i was thinking of getting a miui rom for my hd2 but upon reading how to flash hard spl i came across something that said that not all builds are compatible with the tmo hd2 is this true? does this mean i can run miui on my hd2?
i saw this video an it seems his phone is tmo also, so can i just put any build on my tmo hd2?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRRWBp5l9jk
I believe you just have to find a certain HSPL first for the TmoUS HD2. I have one and I have no problem running any of the Android builds. There is a separate guide for HSPL the TmoUS HD2. I believe it was this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614 . As for the android builds, just set up T-Mobile APNs if its not already there, and if you're in the US some of them may require you to download Morelocale2 from the Market to change it to English US.
Here's another recent TMOUS build, found this on page 2 of this forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=820696
Hi all! i have tmous, and i can use the more of android rom. Currently used by vbn rom, it's good because stock 885 mb and 443 Mb RAM and frees me up in it autoboot. MIUI ruins only problem I've tried the ringtones do not play I do not know why. The cyanogen and running and the evo is going to ruin. The definition does not always succeed in ruins.
My phone TMOUS
Radio 2.15.50.14
rom 3.14.351.1
I have used alot of builds on my tmous HD2 for ages, even without putting HSPL on my device. All these builds should work even on a completely factory device. Although, i think you have to enter apn settings to get data working for tmo, i have never used tmo so i have no experience with that.

Sergio76 CoreDroid v0.8 is a perfect build. It is available in 2 versions: TMOUS and NON-TMOUS. As I live in the Netherlands, I use the non-tmous of course and that build is very good.
You could read the threat first. There is plenty abous TMOUS.

Yes, you can flash ANY Android ROM you see in HD2 Android development. They ALL work with all HD2's including T-Mobile.

First of all, your question doesn't belong in this forum. If you'll post your question in the proper place, you will probably find more help.
Secondly, HSPL has NOTHING do do with android on the TMOUS HD2.
The flash update programs (and HSPL) will not run on a MAC. You will either have to use a Windows machine OR use Virtual Box with Windows on the MAC. If any of this is over your head, you should probably do some more research before trying to flash your phone.
I did some research i didnt know it would be a problem that i was using a mac... so i download virtualbox an then?
Bootcamp is your friend
ok so after i install hspl do i still need windows to install builds or am i ok with a mac to install builds?
first...let me be clear.....you don't need to do hspl, you don't need custom rom to have android on your hd2. all you need to have is a radio version of 2.08 or above...since yours is a tmous, it mostly will have a radio above 2.08
you run android from sd card, so all you need to do is to drag and drop the build of android onto your sd card...windows/mac doesnt matter for dragging and drop files to sd card
all android builds in this forum run on tmous well, so just stop losing yourself too deep into the forums, check your radio version..if it is.>2.08.xx....copy any android folder to sd card and you are good to go ! ..if radio is less than 2.08, then all you need is to do hspl, flash only a higher radio (no need for custom ROM)
hope that makes it clear to you
Gents,
Apologies if I have missed this in another thread (I did do a search!) or if this si the wrong forum
Has anyone gone from Win Mo 6.5 to Android on their HTC HD2? Was it easy to do? What files would I need to back up etc? And is it worth doing?

Apologies accepted since you missed alot of threads ! Most of us have Android on our HD2's .
It was very easy but you must do somethings first to guarantee a working Android on your HD2 . (Read the Guide on my Sig. )
You don't need to backup anything as the current Android doesn't touch your internal device memory (i.e. WinMo system files) It will run off your sd card.
Have fun

I ran EVO android from SD without having to mod my OEM phone.
Just make sure you do follow the directions and update the kernel as some may leave the kernel out of the bucket of legs and thighs.
It did mess with my time and date everytime I booted back into the phones OS but everything else pretty much was the same.
No speed improvements, may be a wee faster if loaded on phones memory.
Evertything the EVO Android had I had on my OEM phone, just different names on some apps.
Once I got my WM6.5 setup properly Android was usless to me.
Like linux it is a sloooooooooo booter. That is the deal breaker for me.
I like 30 second boots at the most. 20 seconds for a desktop is slow!
HD2 will live!!
HD2 with its name LEO is really a king to the jungle out there with its new era of a great processor, an outstanding screen and a sexy look!!
Wm 6.5 is fine but android really excells in combining wm and ios and making a neat interface with user friendly handling!
I'm so meticulous with my device and using stock rom and radio, i tried android from one of the great builds done by MDJ (thanx a lot to him)
It doesn't do any harm coz i didn't need to upgrade rom nor ram and everything is dealt with thru sdcard
if u don't like it; just format or erase the android folders or just leave it there if u have a big memory
it's awesome by all means!! give it a try u wont loose anything!!
TMOUS stock rom 2.10 and radio 2.08

Hi there
Are you saying, that you've managed to run adndroid on your leo with stock Rom and radio? Thing is, that I would also like to try android on my handset, but I'm too scared to hurt it in any way - hence not too keen on changing rom / radio - which seem to be only way according to info I've managed to find so far
Would you care to share your phone configuration, to see what you're running?
Many thanks.

Your current configuration won't run Android. It needs a radio of at least 2.08.50 (MUST be a .50, NOT a .51!!!) The ROM is irrelevant - only the radio matters to Android.
There is an official ROM upgrade available that takes you up to a 3.14 ROM with a 2.15.50 radio, but I don't know if you can use that without HSPL as you have a branded handset.
It may be possible to just upgrade the radio, from the HD2 ROMs thread, and leave your Windows ROM as it is.

They are two separate systems - WinMo in the phone's ROM and Android on the Phone's SD Card.
The only real requirement is that your RADIO must be at least 2.08.50 (any one higher than that with a .50 will do). So you need to know what software you already have:
Settings -> About phone -> Software information. Here you will see the Rom, Radio versions. If the radio is not correct, then we'll go through the procedure on how to update it.
The chefs in the Android ROM section give details on what you download and how to set it up.
As for backing up, there should be no need to (as they are independent systems), but better safe than sorry; install SPB Backup. Even if you weren't thinking of running Android, having a backup is always advisable.
mismatch
I have a bootscreen on WM that shows 3.14 as the ROM but in Settings/phone/ software information it still shows 1.48 and a date of 09/29/10.
Is this normal? does this mean my upgrade failed?
Radio release is same on both - 2.15.50.14

Don't worry about what is says when Windows is running. The value shown then is from the registry, so it can be changed. Have you done a restore from a backup application by any chance?
Ok here we go..
So i've got a friends who haz a Leo HD2 with windows mobiile 6.5 on it..
he got enough of teh crappy windows 6.5 so he asked me to put something else on it..
so i want to put WP7 on it
first of all ; is it possible ?
second..
ive been looking arround and found these :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=912218
wich looks pretty helpfull..
but the first thing it says is :
Before we begin make sure you have Magldr 1.12 and your WP7 ROM installed.
okay but how..
can anyone give some further explanation ?
or link to an other thread..
that would be pretty awesome
Try to do more of your "looking" :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=912416
Download the WP7 ROM package and use something like WinRar to unzip. Ensure that you have a 576MB compatible radio installed. Install magldr 1.12. Use volume rocker in once magldr booted up and select option 5 with Answer Call hard key. Then run DWi from WP7 folder on PC.
WP7 now on your HD2.
How do you know if you have a 576MB compatible radio?
I'm currently running the stock updated TMO OS - is 2.14.50.04 a compatible radio?
2.14.50.04 is 576MB enabled, or so I believe. Many threads on here suggest that you flash radio 2.12.50.02_2 as this seems to give the best battery life.

It really is worth reading everything, watcing every video, and then do it again. Its not uncommon to see a "OMG I BRICKED MY PHONE PLZ HEEELP!"-post from a first-timer that was a little too impatient.
And lastly, good choice! I installed android a year ago, and not one second have I felt sorry for that.

The post above pretty much sums it up, but in future you could easily have used the search tool to find all of the answers. It isn't that difficult and saves you and other people time, as well as preventing people from cluttering up the forums. There must be at least a hundred other threads like this in the forums, with literally exactly the same question.
Another thing I would advise you to do is to update your ROM version from 1.48 to the latest official stock ROM 3.14, this will enable you to skip the radio flashing part (the most risky) as the official update will update your radio as well.
Aside from this, good luck with flashing Android

Can tell you what you need, but how to do it, you have to find out yourself
- Install hspl 2.08
- Install radio 2.15
- Task 29
- Install magldr or clk
- Install recovery (you can find the system/cache size from the OP's thread)
- Flash the rom from cwm
Reboot and enjoy
