Stuck - Wildfire General

So I'm having 2 issues which kinda work against each other in a way.
I rooted my wildfire to use to jailbreak my ps3, now that worked out at least it seemed like it, I was able to jailbreak my ps3 and all, but now my phone won't charge unless it's off, I tough that it was an issue with the rooting so i decided to unroot it and I downloaded the shipped rom, but when i connected the phone on the usb of my computer i noticed that the pc doesnt recognize the phone at all, and same for the phone, it's like it doesnt know that it's plugged in. But the pc and the phone can communicate if i boot the phone and go into the bootloader, is there anything I can do to bring the phone back to the normal unrooted state?
Thanks

Have you tried a nother USB cable?
Have you tried connecting with a different cable? Are you trying to connect from android or MAGLDR? What do you mean by "adapter"?
Just a couple of questions that might help the community better diagnose your problem.
Also, on that note, you don't need the USB to go back to Windows Mobile, the SD card method is also always availible. Unless of course you wish not to lose HSPL and MAGLDR. Though i realise all of the above is of little use to you currently if you cannot charge your device.
i feel you bro
bro,
i tried everything also the sd card method it did not work out for me.
The only way was just to struggle with the cable in order to charge, it took me alot of time cuz i had to hold the cable the hole time like a statue.
if i moved a little bit i just easily lost the connection with the charging or the usb connection with the pc.
with a lot of effort i managed to install the official wp 6.5 os and remove the hspl.
I just send it for repair to htc so i dont have to worry about it anymore.

yeah thats happened to me. some hd2s have an issue with mini usb port not really being soldered right, so it seems sometimes its "loose" and i remember what time i was flashing a rom, and it just paused and i got an error. im sure you had to hold it a certain way just to get a charge huh? lol
if you have a know how, its pretty easy to solder the usb on real tight, if not just send it in for repair.
ahaha nice man,
But i was holding the whole time the phone with the charger and in the same time i was giving my little sister instruction to start the program to flash an go on. Other wise i would lose the charge opportunity, it was really hard.
yea, theres a thread here that i followed to fix it permanently the first try. was real easy. but glad you got it fixed and returned it to stock

I think I cooked my USB functionality.

Hey gang. Wondering if you can help me with a strange issue I've got. I can't seem to connect my phone to my computer via USB. Wondering if anyone could help determine if there's a possibility of repair or not.

So, my USB is acting up. Has been for the last few months, where although it charges when I plug into a computer, it's not connecting to allow data transfer. I haven't been too terribly worried, this happened before then cured itself when I did a factory reset. The thing that usually triggered it was when I tried connecting to my linux box in media player mode. The phone would just kinda lock up, I'd have to restart it and then USB wouldn't connect. But after doing the factory reset it was fine the first time. THIS time however, since I'd just left it stock now I'm itching to flash a custom rom but even though I've wiped the whole stupid phone totally clean, it still won't connect. I'm trying to follow a method on an article on dkszone.net called "Bypass E - Signature Verification Fail Issue On Vibrant Android 2.2".
So it seems I need USB for the debug mode.
What I think my main problem is, and where I need some help, is that I had purchased a super cheapwad USB car charger off of amazon for like 35 cents. Every time I connected to it, my phone would ask me if I wanted to connect using kies, media player mode, or data storage mode. I thought it was annoying but didn't really think it would harm anything. But now that I'm thinking about it, it's probably been pumping 5v into each pin on the USB port, whereas the USB functionality uses probably 3.3v, and I'm afraid I cooked something.
The random part here though is that about 5% of the time it does (sortof) connect. It brings up the USB options when I want to connect, brings up the icon saying it's using debug mode, etc. But my machine just reports that it didn't recognize the USB device. So, I'm thinking it's on the fritz, but figured I'd check here to see if I could possibly find a ray of hope.

You can use ADB over tcpip. There's many a free widget to enable it on google play or Do it manually
Thanks for that, I had been wondering if there wasn't a way to do that over wifi. My issue is that sadly I haven't even rooted the phone. ADB over WiFi requires root, whether I do it manually or use one of those super sweet apps.
So anyways, guess what?
My brother in law has the same phone I do, and I grabbed his phone one day and plugged it into my computers and had the same problem as with my own, and I know he hadn't plugged into the same charger I had, hadn't tried the media mode on Linux like I had (which were what I thought were the big contributing factors). SO, I kept digging, found that I hadn't quite yet cleaned it properly. I'd tried my best to clean it but until I swabbed it well with some rubbing alcohol it wasn't as clean as it should've been.
Long story short, I'm backing everything up so I can start flashing roms.
Moral: just clean the dang thing really well

Fully bricked Nexus 7 2012, not the same brick as always. Just read it.

I have read every single thread that exists on the internet about this problem, the bootloops, the faulty bootloaders, the wrong rooting and image installations, every single posible way to brick this piece of device that everyone seems to have problems with. Yet none of them has gave me a solution. First of all, it's my girlfrinds tablet, she told me that one day, she tried to upgrade the android software and while it was installing it, the tablet bricked. She was able to go to fastload mode (power + volume up) we've tried recovery mode, factory reset, every option there, nothing. She gave me the tablet, I plugged it on my pc and used Nexus Root Kit to install a new android software to the device. After a painful search of how to make the Kit recognize the tablet because usb debugging was not on, I was able to start the process of installing the new software. Yet, in the middle of the installation, the micro-usb moved a little bit and the tablet got disconected. The process was cancelled and the tablet screen froze. I turned the tablet off and that was when it just bricked and never wanted to turn back on. Neither with any combination of the buttons, nor while leaving it charging a long time, nor any possible solution the internet may have about this. Just fully totally and simply bricked. Yet, when I connect it to my pc (windows 7 ultimate 64 bits) sometimes, it reads it as an unknown device, sometimes it reads it as a random APX device, and when I install any kind of drivers that already exist on every thread that there is about it, it reads it as an ASUS Transforme Prime APX Interface, yet the tablet never displays anything, and I'm not able to access it in any way nor make any changes to it whatsoever. I live in a country were there is no google or asus techical support, and third-party technical supporters are dumb as f***. My girlfrind took the tablet to 2 other places before giving it to me and they said to her that "it didn't have any software installed" (which was wrong) and that "it was beyond repair" (which was also wrong). The only thing I want to know is: is there any way to fix it now? or do I just have a very nice and fancy paperweight in my hands.

Hello,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.

Ha, yes...same boat and similar situation happened where USB became disconnected during bootloader flash. Surprised there haven't been any snarky comments made on your (and now my) situation. I have a totally non-responsive device now and Windows is also not recognizing the USB device (because it does not respond back when attempting to connect/mount). Looks like the only magic at this point would be cracking open and trying a completely different path to restoring, otherwise it is time to find a nice door needing a doorstop!

Broken screen, USB debugging not enabled, want to extract data

I dropped and broke the screen on my XT1575 the other day and the touch screen is not responsive. I didn't have USB Debugging enabled, and when I connect the phone to my computer it is not recognized. Since I can't access the screen to allow access or enable USB debugging I don't know how to pull the files from my phone (mostly pictures that i hadn't copied to the SD card.) Hell, I can't even turn it off. I tried booting into fastboot and recovery, but that doesn't help. The phone is completely stock on the Nougat OTA. Short of buying a USB OTG cable and using a mouse to interact with the phone, is there a way to enable USB debugging so i can just use ADB commands to pull files?

If you've never used adb, I think you're hosed even if it was enabled. The first time you use it there's typically a popup on the phone screen you have to acknowledge to trust a new computer before it will allow a connection.
If you happen to have your bootloader unlocked you could fastboot boot TWRP, and TWRP will automatically start mtp and adb shortly after boot, no touches required. If you're not unlocked, this won't work for you either.
I have used this phone with usb otg and a logitech wireless keyboard/mouse. I was just fiddling around to see if it would work, and it did flawlessly with no setup required. I think that was on stock M rom with a custom kernel, so I can't guarantee it will work with stock N. Probably worth a shot if you can get your hands on the gear and don't want to fix the screen.

Thanks. I figured as much. This phone is completely stock. One of the reasons I chose it was that I can get close to pure Android and have the few Moto apps that I actually like. Also, the fast updating to new Android versions. Then Lenovorola took over and updating became a distant memory. I really like the phone, especially since the Nougat update fixed my bluetooth problems. But fixing it at this point wouldn't be worth it considering the value of the phone. I decided to get a OnePlus 5T. Still waiting for it. I may fix the Moto at some point to have as a backup, however.

Having it as a backup comes in handy. I always keep my Nexus 5 around and just last week my Moto G4 broke (accidently crushed it). Its better than insurance lol. I'm actually picking up a used Moto X Pure here tomorrow. Enjoy the OP5t! Awesome phone.

Problems with Nexus 6p not mounting to my computer.

First and foremost I already have the drivers installed properly on the computer the OEM cable and a few others to be sure it wasnt a cord or computer issue.. But when i plug the phone into the computer the nexus doesn't show up either as i mass storage device or even in device manager. To see where I'm coming from I bought the nexus online and the seller sold it for parts and said the phone was in alright condition and said that it works in excellent condition before he wiped the phone and that it had no OS and that he didnt know how to fix. So I thought it was just a simple fix and bought it. Lucky the phone came with twrp already so i plugged in the phone and nothing happened, and I tried sideload and also didnt work. like i said before i installed all the drivers and everything so thats not the problem. I tried the Nexus Root Toolkit and didnt work. I even did the OG way by manually using fastboot but the computer didnt detect the phone. The only method i have left to use is the OTG method so i wouldn't need the computer. Has anyone had this problem before? I searched everywhere to see if anyone had this problem but couldn't. But if you guys already made a thread for this specific problem shoe me. Im thinking its a hardware issue something to do with the port
That's a tough one hopefully it reads OTG and you can flash something. I would grab latest udated twrp and flash first in current recovery. A lot of the new stuff requires it.
this happened to me after owning my Nexus 6P for almost a year. When I plugged the phone into my computer's USB port. Windows didn't acknowledge it BUT the phone was charging.
turns out I needed to get my daughterboard/USB port changed. Sent it in to HUAWEI and they did it for free under warranty (I was without a phone for like 8 days).
I am actually starting to have this problem now... I am certain I am well out of warranty. Plus... I don't trust Huawei.
