[Q] Appointments and 3G connection - Desire HD General

Hi there!
At the moment, im using a HD2 with windows mobile and S2U2 as my lockscreen. But im thinking about switching to a Desire HD with Android. So i have 2 questions:
Is it possible to see my appointments on the lockscreen of HTC Sense? Ive read about flyscreen, but i dont know if it will work with thee HTC Sense lockscreen...
And the second question is about 3G data connection. On windows mobile, everytime an app needed the 3G connection, it was established and disconnected afterwards. I dont have a data flatrate and the only thing i found so far on android was an on/off switch for 3G. So either it was permanently on or completely off and i had to control it manually. Is there some way to get the windows mobile behaviour on android?
Thanks!

Data vs. Wi-Fi in WinMo 6.5

OK, I am using the latest Miri cooked rom and I run 6.5.
The purpose of this thread is for me to better understand how the Touch HD work as far as data access is concerned.
Now I come from a 1st gen iphone and things there are pretty straight forward: the phone automatically connect to wi-fi in priority and will only use data channels if no wi-fi is detected or no wi-fi can be accessed. If you have pre-selected networks it will automatically connect to these. Incidently, if you see a wi-fi connection signal in the taskbar, it means its accessing data through wi-fi.
I am still confused as to how it works with the HD (and by that I mean winmo of course). If I look at the taskbar, it seems that the phone always favours the non wi-fi options. Only when I disable data access and push email does the wi-fi signal sign appear... Another issue I have is that there is no way to know, within critical applications (email, web...) which data access option is used... Obvioulsy, I'd like the phone to access wi-fi in priority since it's cost effective and faster.
Anyone here capable of letting me know what the systems is on the touch? Do I have to disconnect data to have wi-fi used? Is there some software to could force the phone to access wi-fi in priority?

How do you disconnect a data connection

Hi just got a HTC Hero, I also have a Touch Diamond 2, I need to know the quickest easiest way to end a data connection.
Which data connection?
Do you mean usb or 3g?
Presuming 3g, add the widget called mobile data from settings folder under add widget,
... or hold the power button down.

[Q] Phone gets frozen when turning on/off the internet connection

Hi guys,
Maybe you guys already know this, cause when i want to use my Internet, it says that there is no connection. But when i go to the settings, it says that i've been connected. So I turn the internet connection off and set it then back on. And after 10-15 secs. my whole phone is frozen.
Just by clicking on the on/off button of the phone. The same happens when i place it in the Flight mode or even when I use the APN widget.
I use HTC HD2 ROM Artemis V30 NL Custom Rom and my Radio is 2.12.50.02_2 and I use the Android 2.2 FroyoStone Sense
V2
Does someone had the same problem and can tell me the answer please??
I hope this is known.
Thanks,
Same happens to me too, and sometimes when turning on/off gprs.
Same specs as you..

[Q] Mobile Internet stopped working since Androird was put on

Hey yall,
I have a strange mobile internet problem with android on my HD2 Black Leo. When I use WinMo I can use mobile internet but with android it stopped working. It only worked in the beginning when I just put on Android and then afther awhile it stopped working completely. I can see the 3g and HSPA logo but the up and down arrows show no activities and I cannot connect to the internet. no app can connect. I can only use wifi to connect. I tried to resset the apn manualy but no luck I have a Tmobile NL contract with a dedicated internet connection. So it should be no problem, and as stated before I do have internet with windows mobile. Just in android I do not have it.
Can any of you gus help me out. I would really appreciate it.
I am running mdeejay_froyo_sense_v1.5_NOAXI rom

[Q] HD2 phone still using data connection even though WiFi is on

i've been using my hd2 a long time now, still like it. A problem id like to solve is,when i switch wifi on i manually have to switch off data connection otherwise although the wifi icon is in the display, the phone is using the data connection.
is there a setting which does this? and switches back on once wifi is off?
you'd think it would do this automatically
Sounds strange, mine always does it the correct way around.
Have you tried a resert on the phone?
you could always switch off the data connection but that is far from elegant
Are you still on win mo or have you flashed a custom rom yet?
I am running Coredroid 1.7 currently
I'm still using Windows 6.5 didn't want to switch to Android or something incase it screwed my phone up. i've done various resets since having the phone, hard soft, did upgrade to htc ROM on their site.
by the way the only way you can tell it is or isn't using the wifi is if my modem is flashing etc as its being used
my work around is just to switch off the data connection when using WiFi but its not ideal
Settings menu all settings connection connections manage connections( I think, working from memory)
Should find a screen with two dropdowns to select which connection is used for auto and non auto connections. Usually the auto one defaults to the mobile data, but set them both to "the internet" and they should use whichever is available.
As I said, working from memory, so wording may not be correct.
i've found the two drop downs, ive dabbled with them before. the option which seems to mean internet is "my ISP" but when i select that there's then other settings which it isn't clear what to update.
I'm not sure that's the answer. i reckon a lot of people have this problem but think the wifi is slow where in fact its using data connection.
must be another solution?
hmm, its been a while since i used winmo, and i also know different providers call their connections by slightly different thibngs when the initial setup happens, but thats essentially where its set.
However, a much better option would be use the toggles in cookies hometab (or a standalone toggle) and use that to toggle data on only when needed, then when its off everything will default to wifi.
My workaround is i use data controller to switch the data connection off then switch wifi on. The data connection comes back on automatically when there is no wifi and the phone needs to update via internet.
If only I new the setting to avoid this workaround....
Touch tools has an option to make the phone use Wifi first, I don't know if it works well because I don't use my data connection, and never will. Anyway, it's called Wifi on demand or something like that..
stock or custom rom?
it was a rom from the htc website
