Hi everyone at XDA,
It seems many people are having this unresolved issues. I've seen 5 threads that are asking basically the same question but no replies.
My SIM is full and I made a 'Save to Phone' but I do not know where the SMS are saved. I browsed all over Astro and couldn't find it.
Do you know:
1. Where did the phone move the saved messages from the SIM to the phones' directory?
2. How to set preferences to store received SMS to the SD card? I don't even know where the default is.
Thanks again everyone!
Hi I noticed no one ever replies to this question in all the threads in XDA
Does anyone have the answer? Thank you!

Hello
I've done a couple of searches and read a lot of threads about messaging but can't seem to find what i'm looking for. If this is allready mentioned in another thread then call me a dumb nub
Is it possible to let my wizard save the sms messages to the storage card? I found out the hard way that they are not synced to outlook. All sms messages are gone after my rom-ugrade :?
thanx in advance for your overwhelming wisdom
not sure about saving to the storage card, but...
http://xpocketpc.fw.hu/smsbackup/
and
http://www.jeyo.com/extender.asp
might be worth taking a peek at
Great, i've installed the jeyo extender and it enables me to download the messages to a special sms foldergroup in outlook. (similar to folder layout on the phone)
So thanx a bunch for the tip.
But if anyone knows how to put the sms messages on storage card i still would be glad to hear about it.
Hi,
I've been searching the forums here trying to find these answers and have tried all different word configurations in search and still haven't found anything so I thought I would post and ask.
1. I moved my documents to the Storage Card is there anyway to get them to sync when I sync with my computer now? When I sync it still looks on the phone instead of the Storage Card. And I want the My Documents to sync with the folder on my desktop.
2. when sending a Text MSG a pop up comes up saying it was sent this drives me crazy... I just need it to tell me when I get a text MSG not when I sent it.
Thanks for the help... If this has been asked before please give me the Thread and I'll read it, but I've been searching and haven't found anything yet.
I'm on VP3G's V3.0 WM6 Rom on a Cingular Hermes 8525

I think that's for WM5 not WM6 because I don't have a Settings folder under Inbox in the registry.
Morning all, sorry if this has already been answered, I did do a search, but had no success. I currently have a Hero, but am due to have my HD2 delivered tomorrow. Is there a simple way of transferring all of my SMS and MMS settings to the phone.
Please dont flame if this has already been answered, I did look first before posting.
Cheers
Are you talking about transferring settings or the actual messages?
The former isn't really needed, you'll have that set up automatically for you. Re messages I've never heard about a tool that would transfer stuff from Android to WM and I would seriously doubt such a thing exists.
Its the actual messages itself, just wondering if there would be a simple way of backing up my messages, then putting them onto the HD2 when it arrives. If it cant be done not overly worried, just thought it would be cool if I could.
Hi guys,
I've searched the forum but couldn't find an answer so here goes...
In the HTC (SMS) messaging app (conversation mode) I am getting two entries for every person. Pressing either one, for the same person, brings up exactly the same messages. I've had a look in traditional mode and the messages themselves are not duplicated, neither are they when displayed in the Sense UI thingy!
I'm hoping this is just going to be some sort of database/text/xml file problem which if deleted will be re-built but things are never that simple!
I'd prefer an answer that doesn't involve a hard-reset as there are LOTS of text messages I'd rather keep (and again, the messages themselves are not duplicated, just their initial thread display entry in conversation mode)
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Check your contacts and see if they are not duplicated...
Have you used PIM backup? I get the problem when restoring messages from that?
Hi guys,
Thanks for your replies.
@DeadVirus: I've just checked my contacts and there are no duplicates on my phone and my SIM has no contacts on it.
@corny2007: I haven't used any kind of PIM backup software.
However, rather oddly, the problem has sort of fixed itself. By "sort of" I mean everything has returned to normal for all except one thread.Typically it's the one thread that probably gets used more than any other (you guessed it... its for a woman! ) and its probably the one that I least want to lose texts from!
I'm wondering if this is being caused by duplicate texts on the phone and SIM. Is there any software that allows the deleting of text messages on a SIM?
Once again, thanks for your help, any further assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Okay, so I've found a "fix" for the one remaining duplicated thread: Delete all the messages and then undelete them one-by-one (which is no small task, given there is probably about 200 messages!).
Anyways, its fixed now. Thanks guys for your help.
Hi All
Have searched for similar threads with no luck, so I hope this is in the right place and not going over what others have sorted out.
My phone is at HTC Touch Diamond 2 with WM6.5. I used to be able to store 100s of messages on the phone, decided to clear them out, and now every time a message comes through it says that the SIM card is full and I need to delete messages to free up space. When I look there are none, I have checked the deleted and there are none left in there. Is there a way to have messages saved to the SD card instead of the SIM, or is there something I am missing.
Thanks in advance.
