Boot loop - Droid Incredible General

I used unrevoked on my DINC and then flashed HBOOT 0.92 which skyraider said was required for 3.3.3 I have also been having problems also getting radios updated. I now cant boot my phone up it just cycles back to HBOOT over and over again? Did i screw something up or am I missing a step? Any suggestions?

Mytouch 3G stuck and no recovery

i have looked and couldnt find a thread that matched my problem...i have a rooted mytouch 3G (32B) and i cannot get back into recovery. i am able to get into hboot and fastboot but thats it...and when i try to boot regularly the phone will either get stuck in a boot loop or if it does boot (which is rare) it will go to the android tutorial screen and ask for me to touch. at the tutorial screen there will be a whole bunch of error and force closes...before these problems i had used clockwork rec and tried to flash another recovery from rom manager but it would flash a new recovery...then the problems followed and i could no longer flash either clockwork or amon ra....please help if there is any
Post your fastboot info. If your not locked with a perfected SPL you should be able to permanently flash a custom recovery and then flash a new ROM.

I would just apply SAPPIMG.nbh, then use flashrec.apk from 1.5 to flash amon_ra. Then flash whatever you want.

Pull the battery and reinstall, and while the phone is OFF, hold POWER + VOLUME DOWN until you get to the update/bootloader screen. Not sure what it's called. From there you can apply SAPPIMG.nbh from your sd card.
Obviously you'll have to use an adapter to copy the file directly to your SD card without the use of the phone itself.
That will put everything back to oem, then you can use flashrec.apk to install amon_ra and go on your merry way. Try it before you insist it won't work.
If he can't get the regular ROM loaded up he's not going to be able to use flashrec. You need to flash an engineering SPL using the goldcard method and go the old school route of flashing a custom recovey, then flash a new ROM. I'm guessing you rooted before using Androot. When I get to a computer I'll link a proper guide to help you out. You can't get to recovery either (holding home and pressing power)?

You load SAPPIMG.nbh from the bootloader screen - you don't need a ROM at all.
Applying SAPPIMG returns the phone to 100% oem and should allow him to boot up again.
Applying the stock sappimg will return his bootloader/radio back to stock, not the ROM. You have to run an RUU to get back to complete stock.

[Q] HTC legend z4root

I've managed to temporary root my HTC legend with z4root.It works.Butt z4root eats up 20mb of space.
Anyone tried this?
Thnaks in advance
???...How do You mean temporary root?
Can You now, in temp root use Titanium Backup or ROM Manager ?
I ask because I was upgrade to WWE Froyo last veak and want to try BLaY0 and AllWin ROM-s, but I do not know which steps I need to do ...
Any sugestion or guideline was more than apprechiated
Temporary root like it use to work with universal androot on Eclair. You loose root after reboot.
Visionary also works for temproot in Froyo...
Swyped from my HTC Legend
I tried temporary root on 2.2 OTA legend, no problem. it also gives the superuser access. But after reboot, the superuser access no longer works but icon still there.
When I tried permanent root, it will reboot the phone by itself, say in 30 seconds time. After reboot, nothing happen either. I try many times to do permanent root but still fail.
P/S: using z4root 1.3.0
I went the z4 thread, did a quick search, 2 people said perm root works for 2.2, 1 said it didn't.

Anyone else has a verdict on this?
I can make a temp root, but when i try to perm root it, it reboot and i'm not rooted (checked with root checker)
Using visionary saves a lot of space...it does the same as z4root but way faster and only requires like 3 mb.
You can not permroot the legend with either one, because the legend is one of the devices where the manufacturer added another security measurement to make rooting harder.

You can only root temporary. Yes you can use titanium backup and rom manager. With rom manager you can't install roms. If you install clockwork recovery you will be screwed since the only way to get your recovery back will be to run a RUU, then you might as well downgrade and root permanent.
Yes I also lost 20 mb of free space.

If you just wanna use apps that require root like titanium backup you're fine with temporary root.
But if you wanna install a custom rom you'll need to do it the hard way.

This is wrong, as installing clockworkmod recovery via ROM Manager on Legend will just put a fake-flash update.zip on the SD-Root.
So its like:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698404
If you flash clockworkmod like you mean you'd need S-OFF.
S-OFF requires ROOT afaik.

Thats correct at the moment.
But I just wanted to argue that you dont loose your original Recovery just by installing CWM via RomManager, because you need Hard Root for getting S-OFF (by the way, I had it, but i had to remove it again by using RUU because I've sent my Legend to HTC)

At the time I was using temporary root and were on HBOOT 0.43, firmware 1.31(?), and was new to HTC. I installed Clockworkmod recovery and lost the option as I have mentioned before. Updated to FroYo since I thought that could bring the option back in settings but it stayed the same. Only reset through bootmenu. Oh well, could be I'm wrong in some way since I was new to HTC then...

[Q] Does PD15IMG.zip work just like SAPPIMG.nbh for mt3g and can I flash with S-OFF?

I remember with the old MT3G that SAPPIMG.nbh was like our ultimate safety net. As long as we could get into bootloader we could at least get back to OEM Cupcake. I like the idea of being able to bring the phone back to 100% OEM.
I've seen the PD15IMG.zip for MT4G floating around but not a lot of documentation on how to use it.
Can anyone confirm that it works the same way? Does flashing it override whatever is on the phone and bring us back to a perfectly OEM image, complete with S-ON and root access gone without a trace?
Lastly, is it safe to flash from S-OFF or do I need to turn S-ON first?
Thanks!
Yes and yes. Unless you used gfree to get radio s off in which case you need to use the s on guide at the bottom of that post.

Thanks, Granks!
Nope, no radio s-off. I figure I'll just call T-mobile and ask if I want to sim unlock it.
As for the guide to forcing update - there's a second pd15img.zip file (20mb or so) and then an update.zip. Are both really necessary to unroot, stay stock, and get current to 2.2.1?
Or can I just use the first pd15img.zip (311mb) and then the update.zip and skip the middle part, which from what I've read seems to temporarily root/s-off the phone?
The original pd15img.zip will be 2.2. You will need the second one to update it to 2.2.1.

To flash the file in the OP? No, you flash this through hboot and it will wipe your phone, replace your recovery, unroot you and restore you to S-ON.
Basically it returns your phone to an out of the box state.

I guess I should be a bit quicker on my edits! Anyway, when flashing through hboot over CM6.1 I get "main version is older" errors. I was going to nandroid back to stock + root but it is now bootlooping when nandroiding back to stock. This is frustrating. I still get the same "main version is older" error over my stock nandroid as well.

That's your problem right there. In recovery before you nandroid restore do WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET. Then restore your nandroid and it should boot right up.
Or are you doing this through Rom Manager? Boot into recovery and do this manually so you can wipe/reset before you restore. I just restored from cm7 this morning. Heck, I nandroid back and forth between Sense and CM6 about twice a week. Literally...

I didn't follow the ultimate guide so I just went straight to flashing the image file in hboot but it gives me a "main version is older" error and kicks me out... I am on CM 6.1, what could be the reason?
I have 3 ideas for what my problems could be: 1) CM Kernal (does nandroid restore the kernal?) 2) Not wiping in clockwork before nandroid restore (hopefully I still have clockwork) 3) Bad PD15IMG.zip download (like an idiot I downloaded it from the device itself...)
I will work on it again tomorrow and be back to this thread.
Thanks again for the help guys!

s=off but no root

Hey guys, I'm new to rooting the mytouch 4g so I need some help. Rooting my vibrant was a piece of cake but I'm having problems with this phone. I rooted my phone using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=834225 . Everything went smoothly; however, I ran into a small problem. Hboot tells me that s=off but when I try to use apps that require root like titanium backup, screenshot, and rom manager, I am told that my device is not rooted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you need to run visionary one more time.
basically that method obtains temp root so you can turn s=off. Then when you turn it off it loses root. So you need to reroot one last time so you can keep it. This has been covered many times.
I ran visionary and I have rebooted many times. Do I need to press something in visionary? What should I do?

As long as it says s=off in bootloader and do permroot once booted then you should have a permanent root.
Thanks a lot guys. I really do appreciate it. That solved my problem. The guide didn't mention anything about checking those 2 options and running permaroot once s=off was enabled. I guess it was common sense but I'm a noob so I didn't think of that. Which roms do you guys recommend? I was thinking about trying out the virtuous unity sense 3.0 rom. "RUU back to stock" by what?
If you just installed 2.3.4 in PD15IMG.ZIP form - this IS the "RUU equivalent" for MT4G.
Try installing it again.
If it doesn't help - nothing you can do, besides trying to unlock bootloader (don't know if you can, having no OS to boot to) and then flashing recovery from it and any ROM from recovery.
