Is there a 60 FPS cap on Desire Z? - G2 and Desire Z General

Edit: "Rom Development" is only meant for very advanced technical discussion directly related to ROM development activity and the delivery of actual ROMs and ROM components ONLY. Nothing else goes in here. Moved thread to "General." Please refer to "[REF] STOP! Read before posting!" ~TheRomMistress
I've noticed that Quadrant and Quake 2 and Quake 3 never show more than 59 FPS. If we unlock this, we would be getting more scores in Benchmarks and more FPS in games

Refresh rate/V sync?

Hey guys,
So i have read somewhere that the i9000's screen is capped at around 55 - 60hz, is there anyway to remove this, im really curious to see what neocore and other benchmarks come out at without a vsync or cap enabled
Is this a hardware cap? or is it software, is it the screens limitations?
It's software..
Refer to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=779602&highlight=vsync
But if your benchmarks are running above that speed anyway, they probably can't provide much useful information, because they are too simple.
aha many thanks, i did use a search but it kept on coming up with things for a hd2 for some reason

Temperature on 10.1

Hi folks
As some ppl is concerning about heat generated from their devices, I made some indicative tests on mine, just to have an idea how much heat can our device make.
If you please can take some of ur time to run this tests also on your device and share results here it will be great.
it doesn't matter if you have oem 3.0 or rooted OC'ed rom, just fill the excel file where's needed..
please consider this is only indicative and by no mean a professional accuracy test. if someone want to modify the excel file and add something else, pls feel free to do it.

P7100 @ 1ghz
Max temperature achieved : 37,6°C (this will be edited if more tests are posted)
Average “load” condition : 37,25°C (this will be edited if more tests are posted)

Moving to General

Running 8-Cores Together

running 8 Cores Together
1.2+1.6=2.8
But it Would Overheat
WE can Underclock to 1.0+1.4=2.4
1) Do not make multiple threads about the same issue.
2) You've already had your other thread moved to Q&A, what is it exactly that made you think it would be a good idea to start another thread in General ?

[Q] Gaming Rom

Hello guys, i tried to find some stable, gaming rom for SGY but i didn't found it. I'm looking for stable w/o "Force Close" and w/o lag rom. i saw on youtube ppl playing really cool games like GT-Racing, on my stock rom can't install or "Force close" so if anyone got some stable gaming rom answer please.
There is no such thing as a best or most stable rom
the galaxy y 5360 was not designed for hd games - are you sure you wasnt watching a video of the new galaxy y
anyway there are loads of roms in the dev section - none will cause a force close of any game legally downloaded from the play store
as this is a best rom thread which is against xda rules I shall report for closing
Yes i'm sure, i can't still post link on site but you can check on youtube.
Graphics is low but still its hd game. On play store I can't play any racing game.Sad
and alot more hd games playing on SGY.. search for them.
they use chainfire3d to reduce texture quality
anyway like I said there is no best rom so this thread isnt needed

There is no gaming rom.. Just root your phone install chainfire 3d and reduce the graphics quality
.Also a custom kernel can help so you can set your cpu to performance so the game runs smoother
Mod Edit
"Best" or "Recommend" ROM/kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself.
This is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.
Don't forget to make a nandroid before you start.
