Hi there, desperate dutchman here!
I´ve been searching like crazy to get my problem solved. Uptill now everything was working fine!
Getting this error with every build I've tried (Mattc 1.5(b), Xcelsior, Darkstone, shubCRAFT)
Right after booting up, I get the notification that the SIM-card has changed. When clicking on the notification I get this message:
I keep getting this error message: sorry the application com.android.settings stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I get the same message when I go to Settings -> Wireless & networks -> Mobile networks -> Access Point Names
I can't get 3g working this way.
Thing's I've done:
Task 29 and reflash ChuckyDroid (most recent ROM)
Format SD card (using Windows Vista: fat32, allocation size: default, not quick)
RADIO: 2.10.50.26
HSPL: 2.08
I only have a folder called "Android" on the SD-card.
PLease help me out. I've been reading like every single topic on this forum and still no answer :'(
thanks in advance
All of this happens on mine too.
Radio: 2.08.05.02
HSPL: 2.08
Darkstone FroyoStone Android and stock O2 UK 1.72 Windows Mobile ROM.

Ok this is weird. I just replace ChuckyDroidROM with Energy barebone:
http://hotfile.com/dl/60712595/1d3e34f/Energy.Leo.21911.Barebones_WM_Build.For.Android.7z.html
Rebooted, started Android, got the same error when clicking on the notification about having changed my SIM-card. Same message when I want to select an APN.
BUT, when I check "Mobile network" it doesn't fail anymore! Well, it goes on and off, and on and off, and then it stayed on (for 5 mins now...)
Still, need someone who can explain this to me/us
Try Radio 2.12.50.02_2. What class is your microSD?

Class is 6, 8 gb, have tried a lot of build with them, also with my current radio (2.10.50.26) and different kernels. Never had any trouble.
Maybe I should try another kernel? I'm looking for a way to start analysing this error: is it kernel related, or module related, hardware, rom, radio?
Installing Energy's bareboneROM suggests it has something to do with the rom. But birkoff didn't make any great changes to his rom (the version before the on of 16th august worked fine), only another Droid-loader.
I get this error too , but i think its just a bug which will be fixed soon , i just click force close , and everything works fine
Same problem here. Get the same message.
Radio 2.12.50....
Android FroyoStone by darkstone V1 07-08-2010
WM ROM Artemis V17
Vodafone NL
'G' works great. '3G' goes on and off all the time. 'H' too..
So I went to 'networks' (Netwerken) --> 'Mobile networks' (Mobiele netwerken) --> 'Netwerk mode?' (Netwerkmodus) and turnt it to 'only GSM' (Alleen GSM).
So now I got only GPRS and no 3G/H. But got a steady connection.

I have no idea why, but using a program like "APN Backup" (free on marketplace) to delete all the APN records seems to fix the error. Only thing is you need to make sure you have the correct APN settings to re-enter for your provider, otherwise you'll lose your data connection. I can't for the life of me remember where I found the APN details I needed though... I'm sure it was on XDA.
If you do use APN backup, remember to back them all up before you delete them - so if it all goes wrong you can restore it back to how it was.
more or less the same
same issues, with most of the ROMS apart the shubcraft.
regards
happened to me several times too
seems like i only happens when i was using Titanium backup...
so how its breaking GMAIL. i reformatted and just reinstalld everyting manually and it haven't had the message yet.
Regards,
I had this problem with Froyostone - on shubcraft now and it's fine.
The following works:

...but in my case had the side effect of disabling all sound, inc calls, rendering the phone pretty unusable.
APN details for uk providers here:
http://www.unlocks.co.uk/gprs_settings.php#uk
Not sure if the rest are on the same site - haven't had time to look.
I use 12.50 radio and am a t-mo UK customer, though my handset was sim free.
Hoping this is absent in the V2 of froyostone, cause i'd love a working sense rom to play with

Thanks a lot, I'll test it as soon as I can!!
EDIT: ok, I got rid of the error message, so far so good. I manually added my APN (vodafone), but still no working network connection(3g/H). When I check "Network connection", I get the message (translated from dutch) "connection failed".
I got the same error message related to the sim card, but everything else works just fine 3G, wifi etc. (same as Jalaluddin).
Not sure if the sim card error is related with your 3G issue.
I run a stock WM rom with radio 2.10.50.26 and mattc 1.5b froyo with sense.
Update: I've just tried [BUILD][17.08.2010][mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense 1.5b][Kernel: huanyu 2.6.32.9 #6] to use it's full title and have encountered the same issue.
Not sure if it's directly sense related, but it seems to be happening with every sense build i try. Gutted!
a bit of a niggle but not a problem, unless someone can relate this to the current problems facing us atm. like screen freezes, delay in waking up etc.

Well, it's more than just a niggle for me, because the proposed fix breaks sound, and after a restart it always goes back to FCing on the APN settings page and data calls not working. So I can either have sound or data, but not both
But i take your point, it's hardly widespread, and there are non-sense builds (like shubcraft, which i'm using atm and is awesome) which don't exhibit the problem. Wonder if it is a sim card issue though. Are the other people who've experienced the bug UK T-mo users like me?

In the first post I explained what is causing the problem (telephony.db file) and how to fix this.

Update: Unfortunately not even this worked for me! First tried the backup->delete->restart->restore->restart but the settings page still FCd.
Then i installed root explorer and replaced the telephony db with the file you provided in that thread, then restarted the phone, but still no luck.
Seems determined not to work. Back to shubcraft i go
EDIT: OK, looks like i spoke too soon! The phone still FCd if i followed the notification about sim card having changed, and it still FCd if i tried the htc setup wizard, but if i navigate directly to the APN menu under settings, hey presto, i have three valid entries I doubled checked, and both data and sound work. Just restarting the phone to see whether the "sim card changed" notification comes back and the problem re-emerges...
EDIT2: Annoying "Sim card changed" notifcation came back, and sure enough FCd if i clicked on it, but data calls still work and the APN settings page is still fine. Just have to put up with the notification every-time i rr. Many thanks for the help Rogerek!
wow. by now I think I've tried everything I could find in almost every thread... but.. I just can't get the combination of a working data connection together with keeping the sound after sleep..
When I use NRGZ28's minimal WM, I have a working dataconnection. but after my phone has waken up from sleep my sound is completely gone.
When I use Chuckyrom, my sound keeps working all the time but I have no data connection. I've tried with the 24th zImage and modules, the rootpppfix posted in MattC's thread as well as the RMNET without luck. I also tried to copy the telephony.db to the providers.telephony database, with that I resolved the error appearing at the apn settings but still no connection. Have tried to delete apn's with the apn backup & restore, then manually added my apn, and the 3G icon appears.... but no connection..
It happens with every build by the way.
What am I missing guys, who can give me the golden solution?
I'm on Vodafone in the Netherlands, Radio 2.12.50.02 and the above ROMS (also tried a Miri ROM, no data connection)
I really respect the devs of all those builds, great job!!
Thanks in advance!
Greetz, San
Ok.. right now I've searched, searched and searched some more..... nobody in here with a solution? I've tried everything right now..
however, got it working just 1 time, with the Energy minimal WM and Bangsters RC1 CM6... Had both sound and dataconn, even after sleep. but rebooting, and the connection was gone again, as well as sound after sleep.....
I'm running on radio 2.11.50.20 right now, since most of y'all say that's the most stable radio..
Anyway, I'm not giving up..... and will search even more again....
With Artemis HD2 v30.0 (NLD), on first boot I had both again, sound and 3G, but after reboot only sound, no data connection.....
BTW, before flashing I use Task 29 to completely empty my phone and format my SD (8GB SDHC) with 32K cluster format. I'm booting Android with the Exceller Android Loader
Are you formatting the SD card?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Yes, and with different methods as well, simpy within Windows 7, within WM6.5, tried a few WM format tools. also tried a different SD card, same outcome..
with NRGZ lite rom i have the same issue of the sound not working after sleeping. SO far what has worked for me is *NOT* to let it auto boot into android and doing it manually. Before I boot I have to make sure my audio is working in windows as I notice it stops working there also. If its working it will be fine in android for me.
I would love to finally resolve this issue also!
Good luck

THANKS. that also works for me, when rebooting without SD card inserted, then in WM inserting the SD card and run Android solves it. would be nice to not having to do that but hey, how often do I need to reboot.... is there a way to disable the autoboot in NRGZ Rom? Can't find it in the start-up, I guess it's somewhere in the registry..
speed is also nice: 3361Kb/s DL and 1053 UL (using the PPP-rootfix)
When I try to open the downloaded android files on my SD card by tapping first CLRCAD and then HARET I get the following eror message: Files can not be opened due to a not signed trusted certificate or one of its componenets can not be found. Please help I'm getting desperate. Have tried reinstalling everything several times. I have radio ROM version 2.06., maybe that is the reason? Thank you.
You have to allow unsigned apps to perform actions/install in WM
something to do with sdkcerts.cab in windows mobile... dont remember exactly.
Wait for sometime... someone will help you.

You answered your own question. New radio is called for I think.
are you running stock if so you need hardspl3 after that you need a custom rom , look for chunkyrom for android it works well , then look in to flashing a radio rom , search and you shall find
oh... forgot Welcome to XDA
Yes, first try changing your Radio to 2.12.50.02_2 (Hope u have hardSPL'ed ur phone)
Looks like you have problems due to ur smartphone not accepting unsigned apps....install sdkcert.cab (search forum) for WinMo
well this problem suddenly started occurring
i've been running android builds for months now and not once have I encountered problems running haret and CLRCAD.
but it suddenly happened yesterday when i tried to run Mdeejay froyo revolution 1.5 for the 2nd time (the first time was successful)
and it started giving me the same error message
radio: 2.15.50.14
Hi all, I faced the same issue above, sudden happen.... Im using Rom 2.15
wow are you guys all noobs?
just download bsb tweaks and enable unknown programs.
its called "Policies" something.. youll find it there.
(btw if you are connected to pc with your phone, disconnect it =\ then try)
Hello all,
after trying diffrents builds, i finally found one that has a stable data connection with my hd2.
Only problem is that, with this build, i get 2 error messages, which i hope can be fixed.
When i try to browse my contacts i get this error:
proces com.htccontacts
and it immediately closes my contacts again.
Occasionaly when i boot into android i get this:
proces com.htc.opensense.pluginmanager
This error also occurs when i try to uninstall an app.
The lather error message doesn't bother me that much, cause its not failing my phone. I can still uninstall an app, only it gives an error, but the app is still gone.
The error with my contacts, is really bugging me, i can't edit anything, and i can only add, when i enter the number, and save it from there to contacts. Possible, but not ideal.
Hope somebody has an option, Thanks in advanced
EDIT: obviously helps when i post my specs
Winmo ROM: Energy ROM
Android build: mattcleofroyo1.8
Radio: 2.15.50
I am using DFT StocK Leo ROM, and i used the same APn &MMS settings as i have on my G1. It works fine for sending and receiving MMS, but when receiving they show up blurry. I would really like to keep this ROM since A) everything else works excellent, and B) its my girlfriends phone, and if i have to flash another ROM and delete all her info again she'll probably rip my head off lol. Any help would be appreciated.
i have the same problem everything else works fine on my hd2 leo, i even get speeds of up to 2mbit per second pics recieved are jus blurry, i think it compresses the image when sending, I also have simple mobile, Im running CMYLXGO's Stock Desire HD[LEO1024], can sum1 please help, any support on here..... I also want to know how I can flash Sergio's Core Droid Evo Supersonic straight from my Desire Build it only comes with a WM 6.5 installation guide, wut do i have to install WM 6.5 back on my device and flash it the dual boot way, i dont want WM 6.5 but i do want the Core Droid Evo Supersonic, that by far had the best look I've seen from any Android Rom
Change the mms user agent to, for example, n95.
Some roms don't have this option, think it might be cm7 builds.
i have the same issue you tube is no help
I have the same problem also :/ from what i know is that you have to go into the root/system and change the build.prop with another build that can recieve 1024k then go to root/system/customize/CID change default.xml then go to root/system/customize/MNS also change default.xml. So far i have the files but i need help on how i can delete the old files with the new files. everytime i try to copy and paste or delete i get "you cannot paste here (or you cannot delete) because the file is read-only" please help i cant stand the blurry pics on my facebook, contacts, and pictures i receive
ps my phone is rooted
