Hi all
About 4 weeks ago my XDA 2 was out of Battery and i wanted to charge it in the craddle. But when i put the XDA 2 in my craddle (with attatched power supply) the status led only turned RED and nothing else happend. After 30 minutes the status led turns off. I can not power on the xda, not with a soft reset and even not with a hard reset. So i thougt that the battery is maybe dead (too old or whatever ) and i bought a new one....but..... still the same problem!
When i charge the battery directly in the craddle (that works! led on the craddle changes after a few hours from orange to green) and put it after that back into the XDA 2.......... nothing happens....
please help
Hi,
I have the very same problem since month ago, I upgraded to wm2k5 2.03.32wwe, did a change in the system, and after 24h, my phone went dead
Did you do a rom upgrade or in any way altered something in the system? Let us know if you get it work, ok?
J.
The only ROM Update i made was the official one from O²... And this was half a year ago.
Well but..... I SOLVED IT! But i cannot say how... The only thing i've done is that i opened the XDA2 and deconstructioned it in its parts... Well and when i "just for fun" tried to connect the battery to the battery connectors..... DING DING So i assembled it again and now it works fine!
I also cleaned a lot of dirt out of it, maybe this was the reason. I will keep an eye on this...
But thanks for your efforts...
Greetings Ben
Da*n it, you lucky guy,
I wish I get off with such a simple solution. I do not have the right tools but I am out just now and getting the things I need. Fingers crossed
Red light means, you have problem with battery. At first check, if you have closed red lock on the bottom of battery. There is no switch to sense rear cover, so, it doesn't matter, if it put or not.
If battery is installed, lock closed, but you still have red light - try to obtain for a minute working battery from another Himalaya and have a try. If it does not work too... seems it's a hardware problem there.
Same thing happened to me I just took the battery out and left it for a few minutes then back in and it works

Thanks for your reply guys. I've tried everything you guys suggested, but I've been unsuccessful in starting my PDA. It's been like this for 2 months, I've tried taking out the battery, changing the battery etc, but still nothing. So I figured out it's probably a problem with the b/l mode, since I'm unable to enter b/l at all. I gave it to of mine who's a little more tech savvy, he's got the right tools to take the chip out, and if he can manage to flash the b/l. Has anyone done that. If yes, please advise. My friend has fixed some BIOS's for laptops etc, but this will be his first PDA. He said that he doesn't have a board for the PDA chip but will try to work it out some way around. Perhaps someone can advise me where to get that board from?
Anyway, I will keep you posted, and if you guys have any more ideas or experiences, please share.
J.
Hi there y'all,
my xda neo / Prophet is always blinking green while he has got an telephone-connection with my provider and i hate that blinkin light, especially in my bedroom.
Has anyone got an idea how to disable this? Is there any possibility via Registry?
Thanks for any help!
a piece of black tape perhaps?
Try
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\AllLEDMgr\Index
change the value to 0

I used LED Toggle which I attached. It works fine.
You do have to watch out though: disconnect your phone from power or your computer before you activate it. Using it once stops the light and using it again turns it back on.
It looks like the effect is gone after a softreset.
And another thing: some hours after using it my phone didn't respond at all for a few minutes. The only solution was a soft reset. This has happened several times now and when I keep the light on it seems to be working normal again. I don't know if it's just my Prophet but if you encounter the same problem we know where it's coming from.

Thanks Jay, your little program works perfect. I'll see if i'll get the same problem and report it here
niketkumar, thanks for your help. I first try Jays Software, if i get the same problems i'll use your registry hack.
Thanks to both of you from my girlfriend, too - cause now it's less greener in our bedroom
So? Any news?
I stopped using the software and my phone hasn't crashed once. How's yours behaving?
Had the exact same problem, when using LED Toggle my device occasionally hangs. Since I stopped using it everything works just fine..
Man, that just sucks. I was so happy to be rid of that stupid light.
Now about that registry hack. I can find everything up to "\builtin" but the rest (AllLEDMgr\Index) doesn't exist. Do I have to create a new folder with an index file which has the value set to 0 or what?
Don't remember if I've tried the registry hack mentioned above, but I followed the thread about this issue in Modaco and tried numerous registry hacks before ending up with the only solution (that I'm aware of) that currently seems to work.
Which, unfortunately is the LED Toggle attached above, which in hand makes your device quite unstable..
So, back to the drawing board guys - hope someone finds a solution!
Just checked the corresponding thread on Modaco (http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=243948&st=0) and indeed this solution is not working flawlessly on our beloved Prophets..
Why not just place it face down on your dresser at night?
this has to be one of the dumbest hack request on the site!!! do as blunt man said and put it face down if it's that annoying!

this has to be one of the dumbest comments i ever got in an professionals-board.
Jayxz, any of the workarounds i found generated problems so i just painted the light black. Not really the best solution but it sucked so badly
I find the green light annoying too, but i'd still like to have the orange warning when i received a msg or missed a call....
I hope that somebody could find a working solution for this
You can try the attached File i found at the MoDaCo Forum.
It works on my Prophet but some Users told that it drains the Battery

Hello to ya all, greetings and respect
I have a ORANGE SPV M5000 for some 9 months now or so,i bought it new decoded from some other network, and i'm very very happy and satisfied with it and all the software that comes on regular basis for it
But when i bought it one thing i didn't realise at all,i saw it later home but then it was too late. For refund or anything ofc. I got used to it for all this time but anyway i would like to know what it is,would be nice if it's fixable, but i doubt that The thing is : on the screen, there is this red vertical line from top to bottom,in the left half of the screen.it's mostly visible on black backgrounds, not so much on other colors. does anyone maybe know,is the screen ****ed up,or maybe a software mess while decoding the phone ? And if so,is it in any way fixable. At least i would be at peace, knowing why that is. On it it's the original wm5,i never had guts to try upgrade to wm 6. Cuz my fiancee lives in anither country still and i use IM+ over gprs almost 24/7 to be in touch,so i can't risk to lose that lifesaving option.
Thank you all in advance !!

not sure but i guess its a problem with the screen, you should check the cables that connect the screen to the mb, maybe that fixes the problem...

Thank you for your very very fast reply. As soon as i saw it,i opened my PPC carefully and checked there the connector stuff, but with no changes,so at least i know it is not that. Thank you very much again for your quick help
First time opening, but very easy to open the PPC,not tricky at all like it was on my old SE P800,almost breaking it while opening
So i guess, maybe the screen is defected, but it was new and like that from the first day,so maybe the only thing possible is flashing the UNI ? Any ideas still from anyone ?

To exit boot loader mode: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_Stuck_Bootloader
With regard to restorig WM5 - I have the official O2 XDA Exec files for their last software release. But I think you said your's is an iMate. You could see if the iMate version listed here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Upgrades is still available - if not maybe someone has a copy somewhere.
Hope this helps.

bro thankx for help i actually flashed my uni with kdskamal cooked wm5 bt my jasjar still gets dead on a greenish screen as it used to get before in blue screen wht m i supposed to do...??
Hi,
Try flashing with a WM6 rom (Tomal's ROMs are always good) and see if you get the same symptoms.
If you do then I suspect that you have a screen/cable connecting screen problem.
But lets rule out software first.
greetings bro...!!
i was up all night flashing wms
i used mtty software so many times that its commands are like hard weird in my brain cant get them out now....lolzzz
my stubborn uni was still stuck on the same dead screen but the only fun thing was that every time i flashed a new wm it used to get stuck on diff colours blue red green black...lolzzz
i scratched my head and i scratched my ass to an extent that i guess it started thinking lolzzz
i got some nice screw drivers and opened up my uni..
damn dis thing is wicked and messy it has things dat i dont know about n havnt even dreamd of in my stupidest dream i hav been lost in a computer motherboard with some good virus as my friend n some bad scary virus but in my uni motherboard i would neva..!
so i just fixed it back...n it worked for a while n den i dont know what tickled its ass.
busted again...!!
i guess ill hit the HTC service centre.
thanx allot bro
respect for ur effort and help...
Hi
for some strange reason the option "incoming com port" in the blue-tooth setting on my jasjar has disappeared. i was wondering if anyone else faced the same problem or if there is a way around it? editing registry n stuff.
because of this the previously paired devices are working fine but the new devices are unable to search the serial/com port facility on my uni.
i have tried resetting but still no luck.
any suggestions?
also i would really appreciate if someone could give me a solution for reading arabic and other such languages on uni.
(btw i am using i.e.TML 8.5 Rom and when i installed it at first the functionality was present so it cant be a ROM issue.)
...
lol... sorry abt earlier maite! i just realized the ridiculous thing i just did. i was supposed to post the reply to ur prob and then start with my sad story but somhow i managed to skip step one .
i m not expert on the device but i like it very much so i when i got one with my o2 contract i bought another one sim free just so that one would keep other company. as far as ur issue goes i have faced almost the same prob in the past and the solution was
1) rotate the screen 90 to get acess to screws at the bottom of the screen.
2) open the screws screws ... btw u might wana check if they are properly fastend before you try this step as i observed that if the screws are properly tightened this problem may solve itself... carrying on open the screws and that would detach the screen from the hinges.
3) where the hinge comes off strip open the cover a little bit and you will see two connections, one for the backlight and one for display (just like any other LCD screen.
4) press the big grip like thingee i.e. display connector with a flathead screw driver to assure they are properly in place. because in my case the connector had come off and hence was causing the system crash. although in my case the screen was only going blue after a while not the whole color palette.
just try if this one works because i m not sure if imate people are going to be any help in this case. i tried calling them a few months back for the lenscover and they said they dont support this device any more :S.
Hello,
My HTC HD2 runs with Android (not sure which build, but i don´t think thats too important.) since half a year i think. So when i went to bed yesterday, everything was working properly, but when i wanted to check my messages after i woke up, the display remained pitch black. I connected it to the charger, and took out the battery serveral times now. Nothing changed. I found out that it is still booting, because it vibrates at startup, and I can see the interface barely in direct light. It seems asif the background light doesn´t work, and with it the touchscreen, because i can´t enter my pin-code in this barely visible menu. I don´t know if it could help to install a new android version, or whatever i may do to repair it.
So I´m asking you what opportunities there are left for me..
Thanks in advance!

So, i reinstalled android now, but it did not change anything. Was hard enough to figure out what to do, if you don´t see anything. My last chance is repairing it myself, but i don´t know where to start at. There are screws at the back, i recognized, but i fear it might be too dangerous to open it, and ruin the rest of whats left working.. :/

u right ...why dont u just try to install wm ...there's some probleme that r generated because android ... for example with android i can never use the reboot option otherwise it stuck on android logo ...no matter what i install and no matter what way or rom i use always the same issue but i can reboot with wm ...it works perfectly .. just try who knows ...but if u try to open the screws maybe u will make it worst ...good luck
