Torrent-Roms - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi XDA-Users,
Next week is my Private Server Ready and you can all HTC HD2 Roms downloading.[rar files]
Serveradress come on Monday !!!!!
Sorry for bad english
Greetz ZakMcKracken

Private server...... sounds good

The alien mind-benders disagree, there's no need to put builds on torrents unless the creators decide so.

Wow...he has two posts and DONATE sign for his name. Click on it and you are taken to Paypal.
What a ridiculous ploy!
No torrents...who would host an older file?
And as stated so often before, some of these cooks get something back from the downloads they get from megadownload or where ever. Support the devs and cooks, not the schmucks.
J

Yes there is - more than a billion of live in China and all these download pages are blocked. And there are ****loads of us. And we Can´t DL. It sux like nothing else!!!

We share our resources at htcpedia, and dont even get credits around here at xda, its a shame.
Some users post the roms in diffrent sections in xda, and take creds and honor for releasing them...
We dont mind ppl mirror the roms, we expected that, but not giving creds to Tom, who has provided the sources is just sad

just a little consideration from me, the worst cooker of the world

think about it itje,
nothing personal,
today i've posted my rom on htcpedia too

and before you start going on about "other websites" and forums, remember that you've also started working for another website/forum, so it's awee bit hypocritical to moan about others..

If you got it from that source not, it doesn´t matter, i just think that you have put yourself on a position that you don´t really need to be.
But hey, you´re a XDA moderator, you can do/say anything right?
That´s what i think.
Cheers.
i'm pissed off of this situation
you can prove it?
stop acting like a child, we have to enjoy what we have, doesn't matter who share
some people never forget ruff ruff and dutty story
why we can't share everything without problems?
Right, some of the ROMs may well have come from HTCPedia (they aren't all my links) the ones I uploaded weren't, but you'll have to deal with that.
Actually so many people has 1.43 ROMs, it's stupid accuse somebody because he has shared the same thing obtained from an other source.
I know that share a lot of ROMs is great thing, but if this is the result that's not good.
I'm a moderator of some important italian forums, and in that place they call SPAM to link other forums dealing the same argument.
just my 2 cent
I would like to call all XDA friends go pickup the sources from HTCPedia and mirror them at XDA but don't forget to say thank you.
XDA is the roots where we all learned to cook/tweak/develop so I realy think we should do this to keep XDA alive and respect all members that brought so many nice stuff to us in passed.
It looks a bit weird to my opinion that the same people at HTCPedia are moderators here and publishing the sources there don't you think?
They learned here too so what's the deal?
Don't we all like XDA to grow and stay alive?
That's just my humble opinion, don't kill me for it please.

[info] New HTC rom 1.66.* :)

Now I have your attention, well only some of you.
I hate to write this but its getting beyond a joke these days. Every "chef" out to make a $ by releasing their "customised" work of original HTC roms, you get some crazy satisfaction about your ROM's being on others devices. Those base ROM's should be freely available to ALL users, not locked away and not being released straight away to make sure you have the "edge". Sure you have contacts in HTC that give you the ROM's before anyone else, ****, who cares. It will get out one way or another, why not publicly post it for everyone to get access to it? You all know who you are and its pathetic, I'm sure most of you have real jobs out there and if you don't, jesus, get one.
Sure "chefs" might modify some DLL's to get "better" performance but even then, its not your IP, its HTC's/Microsoft etc etc.
At the end of the day, we're all a community who support each other, so why bite the hand that feeds you?
Without commenting on your remarks, I'd be more interested to hear from someone what is new in 1.66 and 2.06, how they relate to each other comment what the differences are.

Barty,
That's the thing, if it was public like it should be, everyone else would know. But it has mainly updated apps (Compass, Album, Camera etc etc), but still requires the SMS Fix.
I really don't think there's a need for such accusations and hostility. The last time this happened (over the whole Rhodium/Topaz leak fiasco) it ended with a lot of bad blood and several good chefs refusing to cook for the xda community anymore!
There are already several cooks working with the new 1.66 base. Have you personaly been denied access to the sources?
Please lets not see a repeat of last years silliness. It was not good for this great community.

I don't care who has it, and all this bad blood is pathetic, children crying over spilt milk.
And being denied to private information, no, but I don't care, I'm voicing my public opinion about it.
And if one goes, I'm sure 20 more will step up to the plate. They're more then welcome to go off and try and create another xda, good luck to them, many have tried and failed.
Sorry but I don't understand why you're so angry? Yes it's a community and I can see several major contributors to that very same community working with 1.66 right now, for our benefit.
Are you annoyed that the stock rom hasn't been posted for all and sundry yet?

I'm simply saying that this has happened before, hermes days, where certain people like to hold things back from the community. All it takes is to post a single link to the source.
Honestly mate, I wouldn't stress. It appears the 1.66 build has just been leaked today and I'm willing to bet that before you know it a stock rom will be available to all. You can't blame those that got hold of it first trying to integrate it quickly into their roms. Flashing has become quite the sport these days Have you tried asked any of the cooks using it, what their source is?

1.66 has been available since the 8th of Jan, and certain people have had it since then. Now I'm not naming names, I just find it pathetic they don't release it.
No I don't blame them for trying to get there first, but its not a race here people, its a community place where we're supposed to help the community.
Whilst I agree with some of the points there is no need for this thread, you should be greatful that what you get doesnt actually cost a cent and believe me if a chef was to live off donations they'd all be dead by now Show a little respect!

Why would this link sound so bloody to you?
http://www.everythingdiamond.info/showthread.php?t=94
(and no, this is not yet the most bloody link... there are others, check the Chinese forum)
Well I understand the OP frustration but I usually just try to ignore it. There has been some of this going on in the recent past where someone gets a build and they share it only with about 4 certain other people with instructions not to share to anyone else. All the while these four or five people release ROM's with the new build while everyone else has to wait. I can't blame the guys it is given to as I'm sure they are glad to be getting it. The point is it makes it look really privatizing that the same 4-5 people always have the new stuff before others.
But as always it will surface before too long. But it may take a week as the others have not released their ROM with it yet.

Providing a free FAST ROM host/mirror

Hey everyone, I would like to help the Hero ROM makers and users out. Rather than using a ad infested, slow free file sharing host, I'll provide free hosting on my servers.
The ROM listing is at: http://dl.bikcmp.com/
Note: When you click that link, it will redirect to a server. When sharing links, for example you are redirected to 'http://server1.bikcmp.com/rom/abc.zip' (just a example) and you're going to share a link on a ROM thread, just use
http://dl.bikcmp.com/rom/abc.zip, replacing abc.zip with the path to the ROM.
To add your ROMs to the server, either PM me, leave a reply on this thread, or contact me on the Sprint hero IRC channel (I'd rather have you do this, so I can talk to you faster) at http://widget.mibbit.com/?server=irc.bikcmp.com&channel=%23hero-cdma
This would not be here if it wasn't for the very generous few who donated their hard earned money to support projects such as this. Your kindness has not been forgotten.
Enjoy.
Jason(bikcmp)

I don't think he was trying to be mean, I think he was saying "Are you sure that your server can handle this?". I could see someone hosting it from their home or something to try to help out, but they have a very slow connection. These are real servers, don't worry hehe. I do work with servers, so I know stuff about them .
As much as I hate to do it...
*bump*
I posted this at a bad time... not many people are on XDA at 12 am... hehe
Overall I like to host on my own server because I can completely control it and can easily pull downloads or change something if I need to. But I know on release days my site drags so having some decent mirrors would be nice. I'll be in touch. And thanks for this.

MIUI english porting project is no more.

I posted this in the N1 forum but realised it applies to several platforms, so for those not reading there...
The main English porting for MIUI is no more, the site (www.miui-dev.com) is gone.
All the details are from the @MiuiDev twitter feed:
http://twitter.com/#!/miuidev
MIUI itself is still in development as usual by the original Chinese devs, the English translation has hit a major speedbump (brick wall?) with this however.
So if anyone comes across the cretins responsible for kicking this project squarely in the cojones, please repay the favour!
This upsets me so much! I hope there's some way to make a comeback...
and it's actually http://twitter.com/#!/miuiandroid where the news is.
It says the forums will remain active. =(
EDIT: Read wrong Twitter first. Boooooo.
is all that can be said, really.
That twitter account hasn't been updated in two weeks, WTF are you talking about?
http://miui.us
Ignore me... didn't read the right twitter post..
Sent from my flux capacitor at 88 MPH.
This will be a great loss for the android rom flashing community. For me Miui had the most polished user interface and experience I had ever seen in any rom. I liked it so much that the availability of this rom was going to be a deciding factor for when I buy a new phone.
According to the latest twitter post Miui english translations might be saved by PaulOBrien of MoDaCo. I do hope the translations continue!
miui isn't going anywhere. There was some falling out so some things happened, that twitter doesnt tell the full story.

The .us doesnt mean United States despite its logo, its a placeholder, the site most of the dev's will be using. I've seen the upcoming forum and there's an Desire section.
Just give them sometime there working on getting it all setup.

Not true. All port devices are now on www.miui.us.
You can find all devices there.
What exactly happend? The community split into half, Marhuk with some help from PaulOBrian continues with miuiandroid.com and now miui.us pops out.
What started the argument between the developers that made it necessary to break the community in two?

Asus Transformer NVFlash Stock 3.1 Recovery Roms

This post has been removed because I don't have time to update the contents and support people on this site as well as my own. If you need to revert back to stock and you need these files they are available at my website where I keep the files updated and try to support people.

Plus side of forcing registration is the ability to sell advertising on you site if it has a high number of registered users.
Negative side is the liability incurred should the database be hacked and stolen.
Tough choice.
Would love to see a download mirror for the us and ww stock roms.

Most of these downloads are linked to a site where you get certain advantages when you pay for an account such as faster download speeds, no limits per day, no waiting before download etc. But I did not pay and still got the file in ~10 min. Why is everyone here so hostile all the sudden???
Good question I run a great community that has done a lot of good **** for people. This is the first and last time I will ever post my **** on xda. Nothing against the site, but some of you are real assholes. I run my community on a server in my garage and have paid for the server, software, and bandwidth and you make stupid comments. The software this site runs on is identical to the software I use and its not cheap. I have google ads to fund contests, get devices for people, pay for my overhead, etc. What do you all do but run you mouth?
Last comment I will make on this site about my release.
