I've noticed that when I play either of the Transformers movies that the audio and the video are out of sync. I tried viewing some other mp4s as well and they have the same problem. Does anyone have this problem as well? Has anyone found a way to fix this? I just recently upgraded to a class 6 microSD card too, so I don't think that there are any problems with my microSD card. Thanks alot for any feedback.
Just got mine in the mail and I noticed this also. It is very slight mismatch but I noticed it on the Transformer movies.
I don't know if it's an audio issue or what. If I find something I'll repost. Figured you would at least want to know if others see it too.
It is good to know it's not just me, thank you for that. I've tried viewing the movies through android and have noticed less of a discrepency in the audio-video sync, could it just be a windows mobile thing?

Ok, picked up the hero for sprint and everything seems great however, I tested everything including youtube viewing in HQ and no problems. I then started to install all my apps that I had on my other google phone and later started viewing youtube in HQ again. It will let you hear what you are playing and show the first image of the video but after that, all you can do is hear the video and the picture gets stuck. Again, this is only for HQ video on the youtube app. Anyone elce have this problem or wanna test? I'm trying to narrow it down to which app is causing this.
Ok, does not look like any of my apps are doing this. All I did was re-arange some of the widgets and have not even installed anything and it's giving me this problem. Anyone elce?
UPDATE: I think its my SD card. I was using the one from my magic...
hmm... never had this problem with my EU version of the Hero, try restoring your phone to factory settings!
Not sure what the problem is... It's hit or miss and it doesent matter which card I use. Starting to think i've get a bum unit now.
Well, looks like the HQ youtube problem is gone only when I use the micro SD that came with the hero. All my other micro SD cards are Micro SDHC and the one that comes with the hero is a Micro SD without the HC. Could this be the problem? Again, this is the sprint hero, not the GSM one.
Hi all new member,
When trying to play music videos from the device, ext. micro sd card, (not streaming online, that's ok) 95% of the time I can hear the sound but not see the video. Dosn't matter what player, what format, most of the time they won't play. If their very low quality they seem to be ok but at times even they won't play. This is on a stock install with the Dexter mod and updates. Everything else works great except videos. I have tried in .mp4 and .avi formats, no difference.
I searched these forums as well as the internet. There seems to be a lot of people with the same issue, but I was unable to find a solution. That is when I joined here to see if you guys knew of a way to eliminate this problem. I have had the unit for about a month and didn't have the issue in the beginning, it just started recently. I haven't installed anything other than I'm currently trying the VTL Launcher. I tried uninstalling that and going back to the default launcher, no difference.
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.
Glen
Try rockplayer, you have the option of software or hardware decoding, most likely it will on software..
Hey Guys,
just got my new Nexus and I am very impressed about it. But now I am experiencing a very anoing problem:
I want to use my Nexus to record some videos, but everytime I want to watch them on my phone, it get's laggy as hell.
Playing the Videos on my computer is just fine and everything works just fine...
These problems occured even on stock.
My phone right now (sorry but I cant Upload an image)
Android-Version: 4.3
Kernel: 3.4.0-perf-g90216aa [email protected] #2
ParanoidAndroid-Version: 3.92
I wouldn't rely on the in built player, get mobo player (mobo team one) or MX player... or both
Actually I allready tried all of your suggestions, none worked better (sorry did'nt mentioned).
It's still laggy.

Reboot your phone and check what's syncing in the background.. Settings/accounts/Google, then click the gmail address/s and see what's ticked.
In my Google-Acc, everything is ticked
If you have put lots of music on lately it will all be getting upped to the cloud in the background, I think that's the way it works. Try unticking Google play music.
Yepp, will try it. Though I am not having any music on my phone right now.. :/
I guess it won't be that then. I'll try some vids later, I haven't tested since going to 4.3.
Okay, thanks..
As I already said, it was even on stock like this. Got my Nexus with 4.3 already installed.
Hope it get's better. Has anyone else an idea?
Using stock 4.3 my videos are playing fine. I used es file explorer to stream them straight over my lan, only my 720 mkv files had trouble with no sound but played smoothly at least.
Hmm, awkward... But I am not talking about streaming, and not about mkv-files...
Only recording in 1080p and playback on the nexus is laggy. Same record on PC is fine.
I am having about 250ms audio lag on watching any media, be it speakers or headphones, youtube or home server streaming.
I've tried turning on GPU rendering in developer settings, I've looked for alternate audio codecs, wiping the cache and I've tried turning off google now voice listening.
Does anybody else have this problem?
I tried mine and no problems for now but check what kind if players you have installed or software it might be from there ,hard reset .
I noticed this on youtube especially
Let me know if you fixed the problem and how please!
Probably going to need an OTA for that.
Audio lag
I experience the same problem when playing any and all video files. I recorded a video yesterday and that had lag on it too, even when played on a different device. I've emailed ZTE and the address to do it if you feel so inclined is [email protected]
What an annoying problem for an otherwise excellent phone! There are a few other examples of it too so it's not an isolated incident.
A factory reset didn't solve the problem either.
Update: Bluetooth audio is fine...
Same issue here. Sound is delayed about 1/4 of second.
its clearly a software problem since i dont think the USA users have the problem.

Just curious have you tried a factory reset? Did it fix it?
If this is on YouTube. This is a YouTube only problem. Many people from different phones are reporting this issue.

Happens with other apps as well as reported by others and tested, basically any app with videos using hardware decoder. its definitely not a youtube problem.

So is it a defect?
USA user here, not audio lag for me (that I've noticed) and I've watched a couple movies and several YouTube videos. I just checked it before posting to make sure, and mine is fine.

Do you have a video decoder issue? Like not able to pick 1080p60fps?

Guess I'm not sure where to find those settings?
I just switch from 480p to 1080p in YouTube with no issues? I also watched a video I recorded on my Samsung Galaxy S7 in 4k with no issues using VLC player. I couldn't find where to change to 60fps though?
I was able to record a video in 1080p @ 60fps too

Looks like this is a YouTube encoder issue. I may have to submit a ticket to the YouTube Devs.

It's noticeable on other apps too... Either way wouldn't hurt. I honestly think it's a OS issue since USA have a different version of the OS and they seem okay. ZTE just need to rollout an update fix I think, I've sent them an email about it lets see if they reply. Also the ZTE USA community mod knows about the problem and is trying to get a UK community started!
Bit noticeable on Netflix as well not too sure about this one
I downloaded a movie viewed it on MXPlayer using their hardware decoder and got the sync issue. Switched it to software and wala all was fine! Honestly don't think we need to send phone back or anything they can easily roll out a fix for it

Confirmed this. Really hope they roll out a fix. Just this and Android pay and it's perfect!
Wondering if anyone is having the same problem I am with the OnePlus 6T or has suggestions to fix it. When I try to play videos I downloaded through Amazon Prime for offline viewing, the sound only comes through in extremely short stutters or not at all. If I stream it works as expected. Already reinstalled Prime Video, tried all the download quality options, and no change. Downloaded and streaming video from Netflix works fine. Guessing codec issues or sound settings but haven't found a solution thus far.
Anyone else run into this?
Did you root O6t ?
I saw on one of the post that, there's some issue with Amazon & netflix videos after root.

Are you on the T-Mobile version? The latest OS update pushed out a few days ago broke Play Store certification for many people. That can cause issues with apps that use DRM, like Netflix and I guess maybe Amazon Prime Video. If this is the case, clearing data/storage on the Play Store fixes it. Source.
ETA: Just noticed the timestamp on the OP, doh. Oh well, leaving my post up in case anyone else having this problem more recently comes here looking for answers.
