I borked my phone - Vibrant General

I wanted to go back to stock so I downloaded the JFD file and fallowed Android Spins instruction. It got stuck on CACHE in ODIN so I pulled the battery. Now all I get is a black screen with a picture of a phone, a warning triangle and a pc....

Can you get into download mode by holding both ends of the volume rockers and inserting the usb while the phone is off?

Loud Ringer Volume

I already asked this in one post, but no one answered, hoping someone has more info.
For some reason once I install either mUn or LSVW's WM6 ROM's my ringer volume is jacked through the roof! I have my ringer all the way down and it's still very loud. When I turn it up it does indeed go louder, but I really don't need it any louder. Is there some low ringer fix that they might be applying to their ROM? Does anyone know where I can go to fix this problem and turn it down a bit? I don't need my whole office hearing my phone ring all the time.
Seriously, no one else has this problem with either of those ROM's? Maybe my Trin is jacked huh?
I found about this right now...
Mun, please post a cab or two
i agree.. my volume is waaay louder than before ha.. funny cause i think in the WM5 aku3.5 ROM i last flashed i noticed my volume went softer.. now its opposite.. it's not bugging me too much, but i've not received any responses to any queries i made about what makes the volume change either..

Holy crap! That appears to have severly messed up my device. I get the boot screen, then my screen just goes white. Nothing ever loads up, the green light blinks like there is service, but I cannot do anything.
EDIT: I'm reflashing and I will try to install again on a fresh ROM.

Hmm...same thing on a fresh reflash. I'm using your rom mUn (which is awesome btw) and for some reason it kills my device after the boot screen.
it doesn`t mun...
Crashed mine too...
Sorry...
But i tryed it on my wm6.SE rom and it worked for me...
I'll rebuild cab
Urgent!
How the hell to reflash??
When I connect my PDA to PC ruu updater says no device found??
schwags and the rest, how can I reflash my device?
I just pulled my battery, then hold down the camera button while you turn on the device. This should get you to the tri-color screen, then run the update and it should work.
U don't need to reflash
Hold 2 softkeys at the same time and click reset
So you will see message on grey screen. Press green button for Hard Reset and Ok for boot

My vibrant is totally bricked

Unable to turn it on. totally bricked
So... Are you unable to turn it on due to no fingers?
Lol yea what happened?
Well, we need a bit more info.

1. have you tried "power button" ?
2. have you charged the phone ?
on a bright side, you are the 1st one !
Maybe your battery is loose? Not to mention that bricking a
phone is usually due to screwing up a software flash. So, is brick really the right word?

After had things done with Odin, my phone restarted, and it was the last time I saw my baby working as a smart phone.

If you are stuck on the phone to PC screen, you are NOT bricked. During development, I ended up getting into this state a couple times myself. You can still get into download mode in the same fashion.
Connect your phone to USB so you get the phone->PC screen. Press and hold both volume up/down. Then press and also hold Home. Then start pressing and holding power for 2 seconds. After 2 seconds, let go of power. Continue holding volume up, volume down, and home, until you get into download mode.

no, a completely blank screen.
no icon, no GUI, no nothing (
Yeah, weird...I just flashed back to US firmware and now my phone is totally unresponsive to everything. Keep in mind I've flashed back and forth several times...even once thought my phone was bricked because the power button wouldn't even turn the screen on. But after holding the correct buttons it finally booted into download mode. I was even using my phone earlier just fine, and having it run quadrant test of 1700, but as soon as I flashed back to 100% stock US firmware, my phone now no longer boots. Go figure lol.
Though this time I think it has bit the dust for real, lol. So be weary of flashing back to US firmware if you are flashing a lot of different other firmwares. Cuz I think something happens and the key combinations get deleted so it refuses to boot into any mode.

I"m at the phone to pc screen..but the Home button is not a "button" it's a touch sensitive button on my vibrant and it won't go into download mode...
I got here because i flashed the custom kernel to put the market and data on a ext4 partition...and it reversed my volume buttons and reversed the routing of sound..headphone speaker..that stuff....so i couldn't hear anything...so when i went to reflash stock t-mobile firmware it told me not to unplug for like hours..it wasn't doing anything.....i took the battery out and now i'm stuck at phone to pc...i think i might just use the warranty..seeing as u can't do a think with it...atleast i can't that is..i feel like a moron...
the forum said to work on com7 but com4 was showing up in odin...i couldn't get it to go on com7 so i thought it should still work....

I hold volume up and down..then hold home with those..then power for 2 seconds..let go and nothing...it doesn't recognize i'm holding the home because it's a software based button..the home key that is..and with no software...no button...so i'm afraid this screen means bricked...adb reboot download won't work either...i'm gunna get it exchanged in the morning..under buyers remorse..

No longer booting into recovery/OS... crap..

been using epic experience for a month or so now no problems... haven't messed with any new updates or anything for awhile... been busy >.<. but randomly today i turned my phone off for a movie and when i turned it back on... the phone is getting stuck at Samsung loading screen and not doing anything... i tried booting into recovery and same thing... just the Samsung screen. i tried plugging it into my computer and tried using adb to see if it could be detected to recover the phone... to no avail =/ anyone ever come across this before? do i have any options? >.<
Have you tried putting it into download mode? Hold "1" on the keyboard while powering on. If you can get into download mode you can use Odin to factory reset. See here for instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773032 and here for the DI18 stock (so you won't have to do OTA update: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794138

No its not normal. Restart you computer and phone. Then try again. Odin should only take 5 minutes at the most

There is a new Odin in the development section. You might try that.
With the old version I had to uncheck "F. Reset" to make it work. It was doing that same thing, getting stuck.

yeah download mode worked before but after a second fail of odin... Yeah, if the battery died in Odin that could probably kill it. You might try getting sprint to replace it under warrenty. Although I don't know if they would let you.
Since there was a recent forced voicemail update I would take it to Sprint and say this happened as a result of the update. Might not be ethical, but that's what I would do.

While I was installing a new rom usb cable desconenected

Hello,
While I was installing a new ROM for Galaxy 9000I s with Odin the USB cable has been disconnected.
And the phone now doesn't start up or even turn on the screen black light.
But the screen shows a phone icon with PC icon with orange the angle between them with ! sign
- Tried to re-connect it to my PC but the Samsung Kies doesn't see it .
So, please tell me what to do to fix this problem..
Thanks for advance
I take it you don't have the 3 button mode, therefore you'll have to make the usb jig to allow you to re flash the phone, search for how to make it.

yeah, just go back into the download mode
then you can flash the ROM again via Odin
Since no one has mentioned this,
To enter download mode, you hold the Volume Down + Home + Power
I've had the same problem. Couldn't enter recovery and download mode at first. Pull the battery and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in. After that i was able to enter download mode

Yes that works also.If you take the battery out, make sure you leave it out for more than half hour.In the meantime press some buttons on the phone to make sure to get rid of all the electricity stored in capacitors in there. When i had this problem i left the phone for 20 minutes and nothing happened. Then i read on a website that it might take more than half hour so i left it about 50 minutes, got recovery after all, factory reset all good.

Sorry for your trouble. This is definitely bad luck. There are the risky heat methods but I wouldn't recommend it.
Just claim that it fell out during Kies update or something, definitely don't tell them you were trying to flash on stuff with Odin
I always used to wonder what would happen if the USB disconnected / computer went into sleep mode or crashed when flashing a ROM. Thanks to the unfortunate OP, now I know! And I hope they fix his problem without making any fuss.

I think I bricked my Vibrant... Quick question..

Went to flash from CM7 back to stock (following advice I found elsewhere on here,) and flashed just the .pit file, forgot to select the .tar file in ODIN.
After doing so, my phone is a complete brick. No power, no recognition in windows (adb or otherwise,) etc.
Is there anything I can do, or is it a total brick?
T-mobile has sent me a new phone as this phone's microphone stopped working a while ago, but I figured I'd make it stock prior to sending it back.
If it is bricked, will T-mobile figure out I had CM7 on it and charge me for the phone?
Thanks for the info!

Tried that every way I know how.
I hold down both up and down volume buttons and try to turn it on. Nothing.
This is how I would previously get into download mode.
For what it's worth, I'm very careful with the phone. Was screwing around when I knew it was going back. I honestly was prepared to just buy a new one..

Try holding both volume keys, plugging into the computer. You should get into download mode that way. Then you could pop the battery back in.
Folks, unless you screwed up flashing a *bootloader* your phone is not bricked.
Remove the battery and sim card. Plug into USB port.
Hold both volume up and down while simultaneously insert the battery. Viola, download mode.
