BT device for PC is possible issue
The problem may be with the BT device connected to your PC. Some BT drivers provided with devices are limited and/or don't play well with the windows BT drivers. What services does your PC BT device provide? Can you create a pairing for an Audio Gateway between the PPC and PC?

Using PC to answer calls via ActiveSync

Is there any software that can allow me to answer my calls from my PC whenever my unit is in ActiveSync? I'd like to use my PC microphone and speakers in answering calls.
i dont know but since activesync is made for normal pda's and not spc for phone pda's i'm not too sure that they incorprated it in activesyncs functions
of cause since that the pda can get access to the network using activesync then i suppose that people could make a program which had a socket the pda connected to that and transfered the sounds as data and such
but somebody need to make such a program and i've yet to see a high demand for it
and as with soo much other things in this world without a demand chances of somebody makes it are less
Certainly would be a very useful program if written.
well maybe there is a demand / market for such a program then
dident know since my xda2 is only in the cradle when it's sync'ing or charging
Bluetooth is your answer i think...
My MDA saw a BT headset service on my BT dongle on the PC...
Didn't try it tough...
If you happen to have it worked, please do inform me. I don't wana buy that BT device for my PC if im not sure it would work as a headset for my XDA2. Thanks so much.
Interesting question! Isn't there a way of getting the XDA to be a virtual modem for the PC? There's that prog called XModem on the OEM - so there must be a simple way of doing this. If it were treated as an external modem, you could use any traditional PC phone answering software, I suppose.
I can gurantee it.. buy a tdk bluetooth usb adapter(or any other adapter WITH widcomm blutooth stack) this will enable your computer to act as a headset ,the widcomm software has the audio gateway protocol which will enable the pc to act as a headset..

Yup ! Works just fine. Coupling the handling of the mobile calls with the handling of the SMSs with Jeyo, the config while in the office is rather good. You can really forget about the mobile device.
Excellent. Thanks again for the tip.
also
when you bond your phone to PC (xp sp2) it gives the option of headset profile.

I don't think that Microsoft bluetooth stack supports Audio Gateway Profile nor does it support Headset or Handsfree...
that means that you CAN'T use your pc as a headset
and you CAN'T use a bluetooth headset with your pc..
I even encountered some difficulties with installing widcomm software after installing sp2..

I think you are right : YOU can't do it
I restate here that I have done it and it works fine. Both bluetooth headset on the PC and PC as headset for the Pocket PC. And I don't have SP2.

I cant get you
I was replying to the guy who said that with sp2 you can do what I said about widcomm(he said that with sp2 you can make your computer work as a headset)
what I'm trying to say that Microsoft bluetooth stack (which will be obligatory installed with sp2) does not support Headset or Handsfree profile
but widcomm does..
And I can do it ofcourse
okay, point taken I misunderstood you. Sorry about that.
Do I have to install Widcomm Bluetooth stack on my XDA II to have this work? I have Bluetooth Dongle on my PC with SP2.
no no... don't install widcomm on your xda because then it will NOT work..
you just have to have widcomm on your pc
do you know if i can use the WIDCOMM drivers with my USB BT dongle (Linksys DBT 120)? if so, where can i find the WIDCOMM drivers?

are you sure it's Linksys DBT 120??
or d-link DBT 120??
if the latter is true then you already have widcomm drivers with your adapter driver cd..
Simple:
why isnt it possible to use the same thing through the usb cradle ?
Why does it _NEEDS_ to be a bluetooth connection?

Set computer as wireless stereo

Hi,
Creating a bluetooth partnership between my computer and htc Tytn, I saw that I have the possibility "set as wireless stereo" on this partnership...
I guess the idea is to play sounds on my computer speakers, which would be nice, but it doesn't seem to work (nothing happens)...
I had some problem using active sync via bluetooth so maybe it's just my bluetooth drivers.
Has anyone tried that before? Does it work?
Thanks
Raph
I too have tried this but it did not work. I set it up on a computer at work so that I can play music through the PC speakers and no joy. It seams to connect and I even get the stereo BT icon on the PPC, but no audio is heard. No sound comes out of the device or the PC. So it seams that the device is sending the sound, but the PC is not playing it.
I will add that this was on vista but I have a feeling that it does not work properly on XP either, do to the fact that its a widcomm stack.

PC As bluetooth headset?

Can it be done?
I would like to be able to use my laptop or in fact ANY computer with bluetooth as a headset for the TyTN. Reason?
Well, while I work with my laptop I use a headset, when the phone rings I have to remove the PC headset and put on the phone headset, or pick the phone up, Ideally I would like to be able to use the one PC headset to do both.
As a secondary use a friend of mine has a Universal and a car computer, the car computer (a Dell P4 system with touchscreen etc) is connected to his car audio system, and he would also like to be able to control the phone etc from the Dell.
I personally am not really looking for PC based control of the phone, just the ability to use the one headset (wired) for both purposes via the bluetooth on the laptop.
Copious amounts of googling seem to return no information on this, but I am hoping that one or more of you on here have managed to achieve what I am trying to do.
Thanks
i remember trying that quite a while ago with my previous phone, and I found that although it cannot be done with the standard Microsoft Bluetooth stack in Windows, the WIDCOMM drivers for Windows have built in support for that feature. Although it does lack noise cancellation (im sure there is some software that will do it for you) and it does get a lot of feedback if you try and use it as a booming speakerphone. Hope this helps
Thanks, now all I have to do is find a working widcomm stack for at least one of the bluetooth adapters I have heh,
btw - advice, do NOT install bluesoleil in vista, I tried and it even corrupted the BSOD heh, that made for an interesting recovery, safe mode, remove driver AND driver files from PC.
i want to know this also. i've searched for about three days and still no luck. i have an azio bluetooth dongle and i upgraded to the latest toshiba stack that supported handsfree/headset profile. i still cant get it to work. i figure if it was working when i pair my phone to the pc under the list of services it would say headset under activesync.
if anybody knows how to get this done please post it. i will create a tutorial for it because i know many people want to do this.

Streaming audio from Titan through Laptop Speakers

I managed to do this one time.. and like all great things it was purely by accident. well after reformating my laptop i was unable to reproduce the results.. I was able to get bluetooth audio streaming over my laptops speakers just as it would if it was a bluetooth headset. does anyone know how to reproduce this? i have had no success and ive been trying for a week. One thing i noticed is that i was never able to connect to windows mobile device center (activesync) after that happend.
Good news! Ive solved my own problem with much trial and error I manage to reproduce the results by removing the bluetooth partnership with my laptop, inserting the disk that came with the Mogul/Titan and reinstalling everything (user manuel, windows mobile device center) this must have reinstalled all drivers and some new ones, bc once it was completed i was able to pair the mogul and laptop again with activesync, the headset, and wireless stereo.
I also upgraded the drivers for my bluetooth chip in my laptop, but i believe that had no effect since i was unable to use the stereo bluetooth until i did the above ^

[Q] Bluetoothproblem Windows 8

Hi there,
since I updated my Win7 to Win8 pro, i am not able to stream audio from my N7 to my laptop via BT. Pairing and filetransfer works fine via BT but i am not able to stream sound to my Laptop via BT. Under Win7 it worked very well. I tried different broadcom bt drivers but i didnt see my N7 as a Playback device.
I already searched the internet for solutions but did not find anything. Seems that there is a problem with A2DP profile in Win8. Do you guys have a hint for me?
Cheers,
gdm
