Ok, everything works fine, but this is really annoying me, everytime i hook up my phone to AUX to listen to music in my car, it randomly calls people and keeps doing it if you move the phone a little bit. At first it was Automatic VOICE DIALER and calling but i got rid of voice dialer but it still tries to call. I am very positive that its not AUX wire because i tried 5 different ones, all end up with the same result. If i plug those wires through my ipod, i got no problems.
btw this happens even if you LOCK the phone.
anyways, does anyone have any ideas about this?
Simplest way to eliminate things is to plug your phone via the same cable into something else (I'm assuming here it's a simple 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack?) like your TV and see if that does the same thing. If it doesn't happen then, you can go ahead and assume your car stereo is sending signals back down the cable to your phone which is instigating these calls.

i got 4 diff cars with AUX, and it happens in all of em. i assume 3.5mm jack is fine because umm it doesnt happen with headphones. never happened on windows either, so im assuming it has to do with android.

i bought the 3 n 1 mini usb adapter (headset, 3.5 mm jack, charger) for the tilt on ebay and when i plug it in...all it does it repeatedly dial the last number i called, even if the charger or headset is not plugged in...is there a a setting i can adjust so that it will stop doing this?
To clarify...
You plug only the adapter in and it dials the last number all by itself? Hmmm... If that's the case I'd say it's a faulty plug. I've heard a fault in the usb port can cause wierd stuff, but never heard of the phone dialing itself.
I was thinking about getting one of these...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...STRK:MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=350026228214&rd=1
Is it the one you got? Can you tell me if the 3.5mm jack will work with a headphone / microphone set up? I'd like to be able to answer calls while I'm plugged in with my headphones.
i have this one...http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-3-in-1-STER...ryZ15040QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
it's slightly different than the one you were looking at...that sucks if the plug is faulty...i just got it today...it is the strangest thing though when it dials by itself....it will just redial the number even if you end the call....
I would just send it back for an exchange. Does the phone auto dial if you plug in something else (ie. charger, sync cable, usb headphones)? Wish I could help more but I've never heard of this.
If you have a voice command software installed (Cyberon or Microsoft) it could be picking up interference from the adapter as a command to dial.
Let me know if you find out whether the 3.5mm will support a microphone. If it does I'll give it a try too and see if it auto dials mine.
i plug in the wall charger and headset individually...no problems...the phone acts normal...just when i plug in that adapter it starts going haywire...
I purchased one of these and it arrived yesterday:

I'm suffering the same problem as the first poster - my TyTN II is randomly calling the last number dialled, and is also firing up VoiceCommander when this is plugged in.
Am going to test if it occurs when the adaptor is plugged in but no headphones are attached.
Very frustrating, although this was only a short term solution for listening to music (the HTC supplied headphones are CRAPTASTIC!) until I purchase a stereo bluetooth headset.
I've tried both of the ones I've listed below without any strange behavior on my Tilt.

I have the Semsons 2-in-1 also with a Tilt and have had no problems, but then again I am not using any voice command software.
BTW, it is a little bit cheaper if your order it direct from the company

I've been using one of these for about a month now, paid about 8 bucks for it, works flawless with my T-Mobile Wing. Maybe it's an isolated Tytn II/Kaiser problem?
The one I use: http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-TyTN-I-II-m...ryZ35211QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Update
I've uninstalled VoiceCommander and now have no issues using the adaptor. It appears they were causing some interference and sending a redial command.
Will reinstall when I move to a bluetooth headphone/mic setup, but has done the trick for now.
Has anyon had issues with the tilt speaker not turning off when using the 3-in-1 adpater? I just got one off of ebay and it plays both out of the 3.5mm jack and the tilt's speaker at the same time. I have a single 3.5mm to USB and it doesn't have this issue. Any help?
Nevermind, looks like it was a phone issue. I turned the phone off and then back on again and it had no problems.
omg guys I'm so ticked. I got mine to use in my car. I was gonna stream music to my phone and also use it as a hands free solution. I plugged it in and started having the same problems with voice command and the dialing. I'm NOT uninstalling my vc software! All I want to be able to do is have my tilt's sound going through the speakers and be able to use my voice command as well. Why should that be impossible??? I need to know, is this a problem with just this one adapter? If you have voice command on your tilt and have a different adapter that is giving you no problems, please let me know so i can get that adapter asap. This stuff is very frustrating. Thanks. SPACE

Hey I got the same problems ? But this ist no phone issue I think it is a profile issue because the Phone got a Headset connection with this 3in1 Adapter so the speakers are disabled.
Is there Any Software or sth. else to switch speakers back on. ?
Has anyone figured out a solution to this? Have a friend that just got one of those adapters from Amazon and it does the same thing, keeps trying to redial the last number called over and over.
you have to buy another one with a specific type of plug for it to work properly. Even then, I believe that when a headset type thing is plugged in it automatically turns off the mic on the phone... very stupid... I think this is because whatever htc wanted you to use has a mic built into already.... still stupid. I saw htc's adapter online somewhere, might have been a link in this thread.
Hey, I've been looking for more than two hours now. All I want to be able to do is plug my phone into my 3.5 jack in my car to listen to music and have my phone calls go through the car speakers. I also want to use voice command to dial my calls so i guess whatever adapter i get needs a built in mic. I've already made the mistake of buying the wrong adapter once before. I didn't know about the pin connector thing and that it had to be special so the one i got just makes voice command continuously activate over and over. So my question is which adapter does all of the above and ACTUALLY WORKS? I'd really appreciate it. thanks guys.
this is how i do it.
the easiest way is to get something like this and just go blutooth... this means your fone can stay on charge too, and the blutooth dongle will plug into any sound system with 3.5mm jack so this is a solution for more than just your car
This is exactly what you want!

I have it on my Tilt, T-Mobile sells it for the G1 but it works with all HTC phones, plug in your phone, then your 3.5 jack and you can still talk with it.

Now playing on Winamp: Lil Wayne - Mrs. Officer (Ft. Bobby Valentino) (Bonus Track)
I guess that is a great solution.. but doesnt look like it has a mic? I guess listening to your music is the most important part.
I have an AUX jack in my car and with my icrap i could plug it via the 3.5mm connection and use it as hands free, but with the LEO i plug it in and i can hear the other person via my car speakers but they cant hear me!? is this a common problem or am i missing somthing?

I had the same problem with my HD. People told me that I was wrong and that the phone could detect it was not a 3.5mm connector with a mic band on it, but it never worked for me.
I'd love an answer to this as I regularly use my phone as a music player in my car - same setup as you described.
One should be able to test this quite easily: call a friend. And if you don't have a friend - just call someone. Tell him that you sleep with/think he is an/damaged his (whatever) and if he starts shouting at you.. well I guess you have your answer. If nothing happens - same story I guess. The last possibility is great - you can now call everyone and finallysay the truth to him or her - all the things you always wanted to say, but were afraid to say. All thanks to HTC...
i know it doesnt work, thats why im posting the message!! any other smart arse comments?
It works, at least on mine, I am often listening to music using classic headphones and I can call people / use voice command with the microphone of the HD2. It is the same with the AUX input on my car.
Maybe you have a jack that has the microphone contact ?
Hi Guys,
Running on Stock 2.3.4 with root and owner of the Atrix Car Dock. One of the most handy bits of kit I've got for my Atrix.
I'm not overly happy with the Car Dock Home on the phone its self though. When I make a call on Google Talk or on normal phone, it diverts the audio via the loud speaker, and not the car speakers. Is it possible to modify this as otherwise whats the point of having the audio lead in the usb cable if its just for music??
I had a look around the SQLite database to see if there was anything there, but maybe there is a config file somewhere or needs a new APK I don't know.
One for the devs?
Thanks
Andy

My bluetooth Pioneer deck only used the drivers speaker, and it had a few dif noise cancelation modes. So its posible the person talking to you will hear every word they say or worse it can cause static or other distortions.
When using the phone plugged via headphone socket in the actual phone I have not suffered any form of feedback or distortion, which is why I'm interested to see if someone out there can do this
This has been asked before, and nobody ever came up with a solution, other than what you're already doing by plugging in the headphone jack.
Hi all,
Basically, I'm trying to figure out if the subject is possible.
What is happening now is that if I have a standard stereo audio cable plugged in (non-mic) with BT connected to a headset and I receive a call, the audio for the call goes through the headset jack instead of the BT, and because of that there is no mic to pick up my voice. This leaves me able to hear the caller, but them not able to hear me.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ben

Had sort of the same thing happen to me, except I tried making a BT call while plugged into headphone jack and other end was plugged into my car's aux port. Started to make the call and quit. Guess its another limitation of the current set of roms, if I'm reading correctly.
My question is under android I would have a microphone on the keyboard so that if I was going to navigate somewhere I could just hit that and say where I wanted to go instead of typing out a long address. I am using HTC Locations, and don't see any provision for allowing me to speak my destination point.
I don't think that's possible yet, but there is a lot in the way of BT profile and audio settings that may help that. we'd probably want to look for something that doesn't auto cut off when a jack is inserted
as it stands, BT is buggered (music playback) on ultrafruit ROMs anyway so we're not missing much, xbmods ROM worked fine but his left for pastures new and everyone else is being silent on the matter.
