Clove have removed the expected delivery date for the Venue Pro and instead just have a means of registering your email address to be notified of when it becomes available.
They also seem to have removed all the specs.
This doesn't bode well - any thoughts?
Just spoke with Clove. It seems the availability of the phones is being delayed - 'possibly until next year'. Further info will be sent out by email, they tell me.
I'm starting to feel slightly better that I decided to go for HD7 in the end
Am wondering if it's worthwhile jumping ship to Expansys, they're cheaper anyway as the postage is free.
I like that Clove is accepting Paypal unlike Expansys... Still would be good to know if both are expecting a delay.
I called Expansys, they said they are expecting 250 Venue Pros on the 16th and currently there are 80 pre-orders, so there's going to be plenty of stock to go round.
I just cancelled my Clove order and ordered with Expansys instead, saving myself about £6 in postage into the bargain.
Expansys seemed a lot more confident of delivery than Clove.

I talked to a Dell agent, they have no information. That's again ridiculous.
Also I asked if a US VP would work in the UK and they said I need to ask Dell US .
Well if we do have to wait until January, at least by then the Cut 'n' Paste update will already be out, possibly with a bunch of other updates and fixes. Which may save us a couple of months of pain.
I jsut got email from clove say fist shipment has been delayed until january.
Any news from expansys? They seem to be adamant on their shipment dates next week...

it says estimated 1 day. they have not got stock and i doubt they will have stock tomorrow as dells own uk site does not list it.
ps. when i pre-ordered one from them in November they tock my money straight away and when i phoned them up about it they say it was a mistak and i had to wait 10 days to get my money back.
im going to wait till play.com or dell.co.uk have they in stock at i dont trust expansys ot clove.

In November I wanted to preorder and pay via Paypal and their rep told me the Paypal option wasn't for preoders and would only appear when they actually had stock. So maybe you can actually buy from them now... To be fair I was fed up and got the Omnia 7 but that could be of interest to some people.
Oh by the way, the last time I spoke to Dell UK they had no plans for selling the phone themselves.

clove said the 6th january and then changed it to week starting the 10th. the reason they do these dates is so you pre-order from them thinking you are going to get it earlier then if you do it with other sites but once you pre-order they tell you there is a delay and hope you dont cancel (clove had it on the 6th when every over site had the 11th).
exspansy tock my money from my debit card, i did not try the paypal option.
tomorrow is the 11th and play.com and exspansy should say in stock but bet they wont and then will delay it again.
as far as dell.co.uk selling it. i was under the assumtion that dell sells all there products from their website and would sell the DVP too like they have been selling the streak. i prefer to buy from play.com but they only listing the 8gb and i wont the 16gb model.
tomorrow i will see if any of them have it but at this rate i may have to look at getting another phone. with the mobile show in early feb there probably be a load of new handsets.
UPDATE: clove and exspansy have delayed it till mid feb. i guess i will have to see if any new handsets get released at the mobile show that takes my fancy, if not it will be arround mid feb by that point anyway.

i always get my phone sim free so i can get any handset but the hd7 and omina 7 i have seen and tried and i dont like the designs.
Given what's been happenning to our friends in the US I won't be rushing to get it !

The O/S is rock stable ... either that or Samsung have worked miracles! My Omnia 7 has crashed twice since i purchased it and I got it on release day. (To be fair, the ONLY thing that has crashed on it has been the marketplace app)
Its far more likely that Dell have screwed up the firmware or chip/mobo integration somehow.
Either way, i'm now out of the market for one of these. Sadly, its the only 4"+ device with a keyboard.... who nows.... maybe Feb will cure my problem?
Clove has been told today there will be no stock until 'mid february at the earliest' for 'microsoft issue on mms settings'. Given every other manufacturer has phones in europe with working mms capability, I cannot see how only dell needs an one month worth wp7 fix. Assume they have multiple issues and don't have a clue about when they will be able to fix them all.
Now, I'm not sure who, between me still waiting for this phone and Dell, needs more urgently a reality check.

To be fair, once you start using one daily you just see it as a Windows Phone and forget a bit about the design. Sure the DVP has something special but unless you really need a keyboard you can do worse than the HD7 and Omnia 7.
What I will probably miss the most about the DVP is the Gorilla Glass but I'm more than happy with the Omnia 7.

I think Expansys and Clove literally just pull these release dates out of thin air (in the same way that Amazon and Play basically invent release dates for some videogames and dvds, etc., even when they haven't been announced yet). They're clearly not in any sort of serious contact with Dell if, only one day before the phones are due to go on sale, they 'find out' that their delivery isn't going to arrive.
I too am going to have to consider the HTC Pro 7 now, much as I don't want to buy another HTC phone. Sigh...

i heard somewhere that the omnia 7 does not gorilla glass but it is not listed. not sure if this is true.

i have a feeling that the way dell has set up the dvp is slightly different than how overs have done and as they are very close to microsoft i this microsoft was fix some things that did not work with the way they made the handset.
i could be wrong but seems strange that the release has been put back to mid feb when the os update is to be released.
I'm stil waiting. Mabye its better to solve the problems. Or els the DVP is going to be a new iphone . But what about the OS update how as Microshoft annouced for april? New languages? Like dutch. We wil see

Hopefully that should mean that Amazon etc will be shipping well in advance of the 1st June date they are currently lists and also that people who've ordered the keyboard direct from Asus won't have to wait too long for it.

Yes, I am awaiting an exchange on my orginal one by comet.
They were scheduled to exchange Thursday 21st but have now called to say they will exchange it on the 29th.
Whilst on the phone I was told stock would be coming into the UK this weekend (Sat 23rd / Sun 24th) and delivered to comet on the 27th for possible delivery on 28th or 29th.

Not sure I put much faith in a Facebook comment when it seems to contradict a press release. If they meant Amazon are getting stock then they put a lot of work into misleading me. That said it did seem a little strange mentioning Amazon if they were getting no stock.

I originally ordered from Comet and delivery was scheduled for the 28th but was told by somoene else that bestbuy has a few so I cancelled my comet order and now I have one due to arrive on Wednesday via bestbuy
i emailed them today as i don't get mine until 28th .Sent a copy of the order and they said even if delayed i will not miss out they have kept my record on file and i need to email them the serial number when i get it
I just hope that this stock news means those who ordered the keyboard as part of the keyboard promotion (ie. me ) won't have to wait too long to get their hands on one!
I was on a plane once that was just getting ready to take off when the pilot got on the intercom and announced a delay due to a part being replaced. I was happy with the delay, of course--rather that than the part not be replaced.
If Asus found some serious bug (or hardware flaw) and decided to slow things down to get it fixed, then good for them. It means what we'll end up getting will be that much better.

If the stock arrives late 3rd May they are making sure they are out by the 4th. Handtec have stated stock arriving the 3rd and sending the same day.
I believe Clove are just covering their bases and making sure they don't promise something they wont deliver on.

but wait, didnt handtec say they would send theirs out yesterday, or today?
and clove origionally said they would send theirs out on the 2nd.. so did something change? or did they always plan to send it out later? do you think theyll send out on the 2nd or this new date?
clove had said 3rd may initially ... or atleast when i pre ordered i think 2 weeks ago. now they say 4-6th. handtec originally said theyll get by 28 and ship by 29th BUT suddenly just changed all that on their website. didn't notify anyone either so after that I just decided to stick to clove cause they're always updating. anytime they get new info on the phone they would send an email asking if i want to still buy the phone or cancel. For example with the NFC not being included and such. they cost about 15 pounds more but have better service. that's how it usually is... smaller companies (clove) have better service cause each customer matters much more while larger companies (handtec) arent that good on service cause they dont care all too much if they lose 1 customer.
I also got that email today in the afternoon.
i hope handtec will finally ship on tuesday........

Just talked to Martin at GSMnation. Mine wont ship until Friday. They have had 50-60 orders for this phone in two days. Apparently they've been shipping them out this week, Hopefully BagOfSnakes got his in a lot earlier than my order so he gets his by Friday.

But I don't even think they had a North American Arc up for preorder at all. They already charged my CC too. That better mean they actually have the phone in their possession to be sent.
I contacted their live chat today and asked about the Silver color. They said that they plan on selling the silver color soon and he advised me to check back next week.

I spoke to the SE folks last month and they mentioned that they did not have a release date for the US. They mentioned that it was going on sale in Canada towards the end of April and that an unlocked version would be available in Canada towards the mid-end May timeframe.
Hopefully, the information I got was incorrect and you guys get your phone soon!

Well, their website says "In Stock - Ships within 24-48 hours". So hopefully you should get yours no later than Tuesday.
YEA i spoke to them this morning and he told me the phone was in stock. i asked him when is my order being ship he said 24/48(ordered mine last night) hours to process orders so looks like im getting it next week ... i also asked the guy for the SGS2 he said it was schedule to arrive this week or latest next one...

Samsung distibution has confimed delays on the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note White

Super annoyed with Handtec. From what I hear they have great customer service, and so far I haven't heard any bad things from anyone about handtec. But my experience has been this:
- Show "Due in soon. Taking pre-orders." for a month even though it isn't "Due in soon."
- Post that the shipment is due in on the week of the 21st. (Suspiciously gaining pre-orders directly before black-friday), then don't actually get it in.
- When people ask for updates on the blog post, they have never responded. Wow, thanks a lot.
- When asked on Twitter, they responded that it will be in later.
- Even after all this, they still have "Due in soon. Taking pre-orders." and they haven't updated the blog post, nor tweeted anything publicly to help people.
- Interesting how they will most likely just end up getting it in sometime in December. When the rumored release will be.
So glad they're taking pre-orders. Thanks a lot handtec.

I got the same email
I trying to decide if I want to order the blue one now, wait till at least Dec 15th, or pay the extra 200 bucks for one on eBay...white is nice, but not worth 200 extra bucks!!!
