you need to flash the clockwork tar in odin again, seems like you're missing the update.zip that gets you into cwm.
then follow the instructions in the how to remove voodoo thread to fix your 0.00b storage issue

Any time you make the mistake of flashing a new rom or kernel without disabling voodoo first this is what happens. Reflash voodoo kernel then mount sd card to computer and create disable_lagfix folder in sdcard/voodoo. Next you need to find the thread here with the clean nandroid backup available for download. Download it then extract and put it in sdcard/clockworkmod/backup. Reboot to recovery and from stock recovery select apply update.zip. Now in clockwork select nandroid/restore/the file you downloaded.

I have flashed it but everytime it will goto manual mode but all update.zip attempts say signature verification failed....when manual mode starts up it says Cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1

figured it out guys....haha so got root back, put a disable lagfix file in and now making a backup.....sweet

Glad you got this sorted. Just a heads up, questions (such as these) belong in the "General" section. Thanks.

Please Help - Phone showing 0.00 Storage Space

ok so here is my problem...
My phone i showing 0.00B of storage space, same issue as other posters. However, something corrupted my SD card so I have no CWM and no CWM recovery or backup. What I have done so far...I have flashed the stock ROM and Kernal via Odin. My phone will power on and I can use it like normal, however, I have 0.00B of space and cannot download or install anything. I have restored root and am unsure of where to go from here since I can't just download CWM via the market and go from there. Can anyone please help me? Also, this is my first time rooting etc, so I am not familiar with every acronym and process, if someone could just take the time and write out in simple terms what I need to do to get my phone back to normal I would truly.....truly appreciate it, thanks in advance to anyone who will try and help.

I hope someone can help you out, but I hope this also serves notice for others who are first time rooters. If you aren't sure what to do, either don't do it, or get some help before possibly ruining your phone.
Well...you couldn't have predicted your sd card failing. Do you have another? Head over to cyanogen mod forum and see if you can get the apk on to another sd card.

i do have asnother SD card. I am re-rooted and noty sure of where to go from here. If someone could help me out from here I'd be very grateful.
Sounds to me like you had a voodoo kernel installed and then installed a stock kernel, without the voodoo properly uninstalling. If this is the case, I would try the following:
Get the CWM update.zip and put on your sd card.
Put the old voodoo kernel that you had on your sd card.
Boot into recovery and run the update.zip, putting you into CWM recovery.
Reinstall the old voodoo kernel.
Reboot, if everything works and you can download apps again you will need to completely uninstall the voodoo kernel. Follow the instructions posted in this forum to completely uninstall the voodoo kernel. You can find these instructions in this thread.
Make sure you use the manual install, I did not have any luck with the zip file uninstall. Also make sure you do the final step and wipe the data.
Once these steps are completed, you should have your original kernel installed with voodoo gone completely, and you should have your disk space back.
If this is not what happened, then I am sorry I am not sure what to try. I know that these are the same symptoms that I had and this is what fixed mine.
Good luck.

Also, I do not have the Voodoo Kernel saved to my SD card because I have noything on my sd card, that's the problem. Can you take your new sd card, go into recovery, and format the SDcard by any chance? Can you do this with your old one?
When you have a clean, fully functional SDCard, can you flash CWM then?

when i try to boot into recovery mode I get this message
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (invalid argument)
I cannot flash CWM if I can't download the app. Since I have no space on my phone it's not allowing me to download or install anything, and without and existing version of Rom Manager on my SD card I dont know how I will be able to boot into CWM recovery.
I'm not sure I'm following this.. Your SD card does, or does not work?
If you flash the Voodoo kernel back you should get to the point where you can then download whatever you need since that should solve your zero free space problem. You can flash the Voodoo kernel via Odin. Just download the Voodoo kernel you want, open up the zip file, and find zImage. Extract that. You might have to put it into .tar format to flash, or Odin might just accept a plain zImage file. I'm not sure. Always use "PDA" when flashing with Odin, never ever ever ever ever ever ever use the "phone" box. Always PDA.
Assuming you have a working SD card, recovering from this should be pretty straightforward.
The key here is you obviously need to extract the zImage file (which is the actual kernel) to flash via Odin. This removes the need for ROM Manager, or any access to the GUI.

Nope, two separate things, Voodoo and CWM. I'm going to edit this, but I'm hitting "post" now so you see it and hang on while I finish typing.

That will get you a functional CWM recovery. You'll still see that error in stock recovery since your mbr is still set for Voodoo.
If you want to apply Voodoo back, and try to correctly uninstall it, you'll need to flash this (Voodoo zImage). I've extracted just the zImage form Dirrk's SV_1100 Voodoo kernel.
You'll need to flash it, it might do the conversion, then once you've booted into the OS, you'll need to create the disable_lagfix file. How to do that is in one of the "How to Uninstall Voodoo" threads.
file attached.. you need to remove the .zip extension.. it should just be .tar , but xda doesn't allow .tar files.

100% correct. Going back to stock takes an extra few steps after CWM, so I suggest trying Voodoo first. The problem with 0.00 free space is that your mbr is still set for Voodoo. It didn't get put back to stock, so ideally you flash voodoo, then uninstall, and the uninstall sets your mbr back to stock.
CWM is for other troubleshooting, if you need it. I'm not going to be around for a bit, but it sounds like this should get you to a point where you can recover from. I highly recommend joining the irc channel and having someone walk you through it step by step.

Did you delete the update.zip from the sd card that was placed there during cwm flash?

Ok, so that's because you are in stock recovery and not clockwork mod...use odin to reflash cwm. The error shows that the update.zip is not on the card...and you must leave it there and not touch it at all.
If I was on my PC I would post link. Koush has a index of recoveries and a fascinate.zip. hold you can rename it update. Put it on the root of ur SD, then when u go into recovery 2 e hit apply update.zip and go into clockwork and wipe data/cache

if you have windows vista or windows 7, find the fascinate.zip recovery and rename it update only. then put it on the root of your sd card, in other word the first screen you come to when you mount your sd, and not in any folder. here ya go, and dont forget what i already suggested you do in recoery 2e

Having had to use the odin files twice to recover my phone, I will confirm you *MUST* have the correct Fascinate drivers downloaded/installed for this to work. Go ahead and download all the Odin recovery files and save to a location on your computer (just in case) and I also downloaded the Odin .exe and saved it to pc as well. Pull battery on phone, and reinsert but do not power phone on. Hold Power UP and plug powered-off phone into USB cable, should return a yellow triangle with a droid shoveling. Open Odin, and your device should show as a yellow block in the first slot for devices. Now, click on PDA button, and choose the "System" recovery file FIRST! It'll take a couple of minutes, phone will reset. If this doesn't fix it, begin using Odin to flash the other files one at a time, testing device between. It may take a few tries, but be reassured, this *CAN* and *WILL* fix the phone if used properly.

Flash problems

OK I have a problem. I had a difficult time flashing to DI18, figured out it was the pc not installing all the drives. Got there, went to backed snack 1.6 without a problem. I try anything else and I get the same error no matter what I wipe or anything.. tried DJ29 and DK05 and a few of the custom roms based n those 2 and I end up with can't symlink system/bin/dumpcrash, error at line 6..
I flashed DI18 with odin, fresh, didn't install any apps or sync with google, and same thing when I clockwork.. rom manager won't boot into clockwork, only android.. Is it me? Am I doing something wrong? I read someone flashed DJ29 or a DK05 rom over baked snack and I can't seem to find a solution.
Any help is appreciated.. I can't find any topics or posts that offer help or guidance in what to do with errors..

I had that same sot of problem. Rooted the epic flashed clockwork and woudnt boot in to the proper recovery. So here is what I did: with any file manager go onto your sd card and delete the update zip from the sd root directory. Then go into rom manager and reflash clockwork. Then manually boot into recovery by holding down volume down, power, and camera button. This should get you into clockwork recovery.

OK I tried but rom manager wont boot into any recovery now. I still have to boot in manually.. If you are actually in Clockwork via the 3 button boot (green text) and you can't install a zip, any zip as that is an option to actually choose the zip no mater what the name. THEN you need to re-root the phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=770388
and re-install Clockwork
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=782300
Also, this is a general topic that should be in the General forum, not in the development section as you aren't developing anything in this thread.
Ok thanks, wasn't sure where it belonged.. I have installed baked snack 1.6 and I can keep doing it no matter what I do, I don't even need to wipe. But anything else won't install. Root is there, I use apps that need it and the only one that has given me problems is root manager about su and not etting permission even though it has permission, so I will removethe permissions and see what happens.
Thanks a lot for the help, it's highly appreciated.

[Q] [H] htc cant mount /dev/block/vold/179.9

Hey guys -
So this is what is going on..
I had JT's Clean Rom installed, and everything was working fine however it was some what buggy so I wiped clean and re-flash. However, it did not remove all my data. So i went into partition manager and tried to delete the data and system. I think deleting system was a bad idea.... ( i know now ). So now when I go into recovery I try to update.zip to go into clockwork now I run into this error E: cant mount /dev/block/vold/179.9. I tried to reinstall recovery from ODIN which worked however getting same error...
Am i screwed?
I think I had Voodoo kernel as well
I did read, and I did search, I've been around this block a few times, I just think I messed up and its my own fault.

Not able to upgrade to froyo

My objective is to upgrade to froyo.
I have stock samsung vibrant eclair. Device is rooted, has recovery manager installed, is not hardware locked. I have already installed clockwise recovery using rom manager.
I have bionix rom downloaded to my internal sd card's root folder. I select "install from folder" in rom manager. It reboots but I do not find any option to install from sd card. I do reinstall software, out just installs update.zip and reboots to 2.1 over and again.
In short, I can not figure out how to get into clockwise recovery. It just shows 4 options _ reboot, reinstall, wipe user data and write cache. No option to install from sd card. I have wiping data and cache but that does not help.
Incidentally, I had successfully flashed bionix but can not do it again.

Look on your internal SD card, do you see an Update.zip file?

Try it more than once if you have rooted it already with update folder or superoneclick. It can take 2 or 3 tries to recognize. IT you get stuck Odin back to stock, then root and go from there. good luck
Locate the update file and delete it. In clockworkmod recovery app you need to choose flash clockworkmod recovery... its the top section in the app. Then choose vibrant. It will download and then flash it. Then choose boot into recovery. Then when in recovery choose reinstall packages. Then reinstall packages again. You should get clockworkmod recovery. Then choose your zip and locate on sd card and install.

Ok i had the same issues i couldn't reboot into cwm recovery always to default 2e. I found workaround
1. Download cwm recovery for your phone
2. Rename that folder to update.zip
3. Put update.zip to internal SD card
4. Turn off phone
5. Hold volume up and down and power button
6. When you go to recovery go to install packages it will install cwm and it will go to cwm automatically
7.Now go to install zip from SD card find your ROM
8. Enjoy
I am 2e recovery. Tried to reflash it from cwm.
Is there a link to download cwm as a file so I can flash it using reinstall option.

Here you go http://www.2shared.com/file/rpqd2-ET/recovery-clockwork-2512-galaxy.html
Link gives me error - invalid link. Could it be because I am downloading it on the phone directly?

In the meanwhile I did this ...
Deleted update.zip from rot folder.
In rom manager, choose option to flash clock wise recovery.
In the file manager, I could see that update.zip file was now there .. 577kb.
In rom manager, I chose to reboot into recovery
Reinstall option in the recovery mode.
It gave me an error something like.
.. Inflation aborted ... ,(bad)
Seems like the file getting downloaded is bad.
Any ideas?

**Solved**
Here is how...
I can not say for sure that this exactly solved the issue since I did quite a few other things before being able to boot into recovery mode. But this would be my best conclusion:
- Open Rom Manager
- Menu -> Clear cache
- Flash clockwise recovery again
I believe, somewhere I had a bad download that did not do proper flashing of the clockwise recovery. Here is the link that ticked me..

In between my last post and now, I did the below other steps:
- Got hold of a place to hook up my laptop to a decent speed internet
- Used Mini kies to flash stock 2.2 rom from Samsung
- So, at this time, I was on 2.2 already
- Used SuperOneClickv1.7-ShortFuse to root the phone
- Got error "Not enough space" during copying
- adb shell and remounted /system in rw mode
- cleaned up some bloatware in /system/app folder so that I had about 15 MB free in /system
- Used "3e_recovery_installer" to install modified recovery to address the signature issue with the stock samsung ROM
- Reboot
- Open ROM manager. Clear Cache as mentioned above
- Flash clockwise recovery, reboot, reinstall
- VOILLA! i am in the Clockwise recovery screen
- And there I flashed the bionix 1.2.1
THANKS TO ALL FOR THE QUICK RESPONSES, LINKS etc. Very much appreciated.
