it is because i am worried that while roaming, the set may go on internet.. for example wayfinder..
tried the connection manager.. i switched data off.. but wayfinder just goes online itself..
any tweak or problem to enable me to :"lock" data access?
I have downloaded the "No Data" program from the below site and it works brilliantly, you manually go into the program and disable any connections you dont want active
http://www.modaco.com/content/xperi...4005/pauls-must-have-free-xperia-x1-software/
does it prevent the connection from becoming active or its only good for terminating connections after they connected>
cant seem to d/l it.. any direct links?
or anymore recommendations>
This program completly stops the connection being established in the first place. If you try to connect to the internet while the connections are disabled, you get an error message saying it wont connect to any networks and you have to enable that connection.
Sorry, i cant get any direct links at the min,
CommMgrPro lets you disable all the data connections automatically when your device is in roaming mode...
No Data works perfectly
No Data probably works 100% (haven't tried it), but here's what I do - go into Start --> Settings --> Connections --> Connections --> advanced --> Select Networks.
If your normal internet settings are called "My ISP", click new and create a blank group called "No Settings".
For both internet and work drop downs select "No Settings".
That way, when it tries to connect, it won't go through the "My ISP", but through "No Settings" (for which there aren't internet settings).
I have a T-Mobile Wing running the stock ROM. Every time I try to connect to my home's access point, I get an error telling me that the access point is unavailable. My Wing can "see" the access point (and those of my neighbors), but it can't connect to it.
When I try to connect, I get a message saying "Multiple Networks Detected". I select my "network", then it asks if I want to connect to the Internet or Work. I select "Internet". The icon at the top shows the arrows moving, but then stops and tells me again that "Multiple Networks Detected". This time, my network isn't on the list.
I dismiss that and go to the "Configure Wireless Networks" page and it shows me all the available networks - including mine - but it says that mine is "Unavailable".
What's going on here? Do I have a bad Wing? Do I need to adjust the network drivers? Please point me in the right direction.
Same problem with Wing
Were you able to fin a solution to this problem? I have the same situation with my Wing. Thanks if advance for anyone with a solution.
somehow my phone lost data connections...it only works when i enable wifi.
in the Comm Manager "Data Connection" is off. When i try to turn it on, I get "Cannot Connect for an unknown reason"
any ideas? I have no idea what I did to cause this.
Is anyone else getting random Wi-Fi network notifications? I have the "Network Notification" setting disabled in the Wi-Fi settings, but every once in awhile a dialog will pop up showing me available Wi-Fi networks.
[Q] Set a Wireless network at "Home network" w/o turning on network sharing?
Hello!
When I first connected to my wifi at home I was asked about turning on the network sharing as in a "Home Group", I had no interest in the share-part and suddenly clicked some kind of "No"-button. Then today when I done some network stuff the network profile was set to public. I have not found any way to change this since the "Network profile manager" from Win 7 seems to be gone. There is not even an icon for the network in the "network and sharing center", it just says public.
Any idea someone? It it possible to get the profile manager back?
