how do i check if i have the TEP insurance plan ?
Go to Sprint.com and check. Or call them. Do you not know what you signed up for?

Sent wirelessly via PC36100.
It is not free for a replacement through asurion. It is only free to replace the screen at a sprint repair center. You take your phone there and they will repair it and give you a new screen but you have your same phone.

ok i have full TEP. but how come on the site i gotta pay 100 bucks, in the store its free ?
Because sprint and asurion are two different companies.

Because Asurion replaces your phone, Sprint just replaces the screen.

You have TEP because you can access the Assurion site. Assurion is just Sprint's insurance company.
Just go to a Sprint service center/store and get it fixed for free.
S&R fee changes
hey guys just an fyi if you don't have tep and there is no liquid damage cracked screen replacements are only $35 now so don't pay more than that on the web for replacement parts (also there can be no port damage )
I was told a few minutes ago that if the parts are not available, the Sprint store will refer you to Assurion.

they should have parts on hand. Just wait if they don't.
That is B. S. My bother broke his screen on the epic and the sprint store ran out of screens and they told him that he has two options one they will order him a replacement and pick it up the next day or option 2 just go to another sprint store.
Well I got screwed.. broke my screen a couple weeks ago and both the sprint repair center and *2 customer service told me they would not repair it and I would have to do the $100 asurion replacement.. Wtf... that really pisses me off
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I called sprint and asked how long the wait would be for my screen to get replaced and they told me I had to go through asurion. I then advised the lil twirp on the phone I've had screens replaced on my mogul, and my tp2 twice. He put me on hold and said the manager advised him the parts would arrive in just a day or two and to come up there then. They tried but got denied lol
^ Well, in any case, I'll be ready for the bullsh*t that usually comes my way from Sprint's technicians.
I work at a service shop. Prior to October 24th if you cracked the housing or screen on an evo it was a automatic asurion $100 deductible. now, if you have TEP a broken screen is only $35 via sprint service & repair. The $100 is only for liquid damage or severly damaged ports. If you go thru asurion, whether for a broken screen, glitches etc it will always be $100. So I suggest going to your local sprint service center and get the screen replaced.
Ok if they don't have the parts they will replace ur device ...not in store but seriously a few days is not a bad deal ...just be happy they cover it at all if you break ur screen then u used to be SOL so ... be glad u don't have another service provider bc ATT, Verizon etc will tell u to **** off and pay $100 to asurion

i work at a service center, too, and that's not the policy at all...
if you have TEP, everything is covered for free except liquid damage, lost phone, or damaged beyond repair (basically if the board is bent or broken). the only time there is a $35 charge is if you don't have TEP or ESRP. there should be no $100 charges in the store b/c anything that would require a $100 charge (liquid damage, lost phone, DBR) should be directed to asurion.
if you work in a corporate store, you need to read up on your m&ps.
Warrior 3000, did you get the screen fixed at the store? I'm loving this TEP thing. I went in and complained of a less-than-perfect screen. The rep agreed that the screen needed to be replaced. She asked me to come back in 45 minutes, but it was done in less than 20. I received my phone with a screen cover. This means they replaced the touch sensor, right?
I don't even care about the scratch on the bezel. My previous sensor had 10x more!

For what he paid he definitely overpaid. Retail is $450, so he paid $225 to get it less than two weeks early. He could have gotten the hotspot for more than 7 months for the same amount, or put that towards two years of the extra $10/mo. Either way, he better be totally happy with his purchase.
I get mine this Friday. I see you have that Google I/O informational form in your pic. Is that included in the phone's packaging?
The reason i ask is because I asked my seller about that form and he said that he didn't have it. he said that it might be packaged with the phone itself. He never opened the phone's packaging. So I told him that I'd just find out when i receive it.

Well it depends on where he would have gotten the phone from. Sprint $450..you can say he probably overpaid, $500 RS....you can say he overpaid, BB...I don't think he overpaid. i think its a great deal if you think about it.
Free everything for a month, no contract....etc.
And plus I'm sure there will be big shortage of these phones when they release. I stopped at the bestbuy by my house earlier today and the Rep there told me that this is the biggest preorder they ever had. I'm not sure if he was just talking about this particular store or Bestbuy in general. Just like the Incredible and the iPad this will be backordered. And if you think paying $670 is too much ....wait until June 4th
I think if you really want the phone, you saved up for the phone or whatever if you got the money then go ahead and get it. Because getting one on the 4th is not guaranteed.
Not to reign on some peoples parades of cost, but depending on the store, they may not sell you a phone off contract. I Lou of holding out for new customers and upgrades. Happened to me when I wanted a pre had to hold out a month for when online orders came around
So I'm pretty sure Sprint owed me a $100 rebate...I bought my Evo for $300 plus tax ($45), and Sprint granted me a $70 renewal credit for reupping my previous SERO line for another 2 years (afterwards I switched plans when I bought the Evo).
So I get my rebate check in the mail today, and instead of the $100 my check was for $250!
I remember reading that Sprint has done this before, sent people $250 instead of the $100, but I sure as hell am not complaining. My net payment for the phone is $25!
Dang, my rebate came today also, but it was only $100.
bought my phone the day of the release but barely sent me rebate in last week.. damn i should have just took care of it that same day.. guess ill continue to wait
OP, when did you send in your rebate papers?
I got my phone the 30th of June, I think I sent my rebate in around a week or so later.
So you're going to notify them that they overpaid or at least find out what happened, right? Or are you just going to stick it to them because they're a big corporation?

So you are thief. Good to know. It doesn't matter if it was your Mom or Sprint. Wrong is wrong.
I have no qualms taking the money. The alternative? Talking to customer service for hours, potentially waiting weeks for another rebate...
This is not the first I've heard of sprint doing this, even my friend received two rebates for the same submission before. Either they're not paid enough to do their jobs right, or they're downright incompetent. To be honest, sprints random incompetence in this case and their ability to still provide great service despite this keeps me as a customer, believer it or not.
When I first signed up for sprint I was supposed to get $100 in referrals...i didn't get them but enjoyed my service from sprint anyways...and still referred people.
The mistake is not my fault, I don't know anyone who would take the headache if trying to correct it over cashing the check
Last year when I was working for sprint I upgraded my phone to the blackberry tour and sent in my rebate. I paid 300 for the device and renewed my contract. I got my rebate a month later and it was for 300 dollars. I got my phone for free and my coworker who did the same upgrade got his rebate for 100.
I checked with someone at sprint since I worked there and they told me to keep it. So right now I'm waiting for my next rebate right now and I am interested to see if I get another cool MIR. The last one helped me buy my laptop and if the do it again the next one will help me pay for my wedding.

Ha, it's actually funny you call me a thief for this.
I called Sprint yesterday to report a gameloft game that was mistakenly charged to my account 6 times, instead of once. The charge looked like a single $29.94 charge and I told them $4.99 of it was legit but they took the whole $30 off anyways.. Then they offered me a $70 rebate to reset my contract to begin yesterday, and I was VERY clear about maintaining my Dec first upgrade
THEN they ship a free airrave for a line on my account thats used in a rural area, and waive the mir for it AND removed the spending limit on my account..
Despite all that: Yes, I would let Sprint mistakenly send me money and keep it, especially when (as nhutpham mentioned) the alternative is likely spending another hour or two of my life on the phone with Sprint's courteous but incompetent CS.

I got my rebate last week from Sprint for $100. A few days before that, I got my $100 Visa Gift card from Bluefish (corporate discount package deal). So my total true cost for the EVO was only $99. Well worth it!

you can't possibly compare the $10 fee and keeping money that is not yours.

it sucks that i'm going to have to get a new phone; i had put a lot of time into customizing it.
So you bought the insurance and are paying for it, and you don't like it? 100>2-300
why not just go to a sprint store and see if they can fix it up for ya? Repair should be free if you have insurance.
a new evo at this point, they will probably activate and update and you will be on stock for a while.
yea dont think some has seen the new changes to the insurance ... and id take a 100$ kick in the ass instead of a 300 kick
So you are complaining that you pay for insurance every month, and if you need to use it... you have to pay a deductible??? Ummmm.... I am assuming you have insurance on your car.... your house.... health insurance? You pay monthly for those, and they also have deductibles. Suck it up.
Good news man.. You won't have to pay $100 anymore, Sprint changed their Insurance policy a couple of weeks ago. DON'T start an asurion claim, just go to a Sprint store with a repair center and they will fix it for free...How's that?
Its better than best buys bull**** insurence.

Omg.... I can't hold my tongue anymore. WHAT INSURANCE IN THE UNITED STATES DO YOU PAY FOR THAT DOESN'T HAVE A DEDUCTIBLE? WELCOME TO THE ****ING UNITED STATES!!! WHAT ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH MAKES YOU THINK PHONE INSURANCE IS ANY DIFFERENT????? Im sorry YOU dropped YOUR phone and now YOUR phone is broken. Deal with it and pay the DEDUCTIBLE or pay for a brand new phone $449. Don't take this personally kid, there's just a lot of people out there (you being one of them) who think phone's are in some kind of law or world of their own

and really @ sprint's new insurance plan? sick! hopefully there is a repair center around here. i knew of one, but just drove past it yesterday and now it's an ATT store, so damn.
just confirming..i work in a corporate service center, as long as you have TEP than that repair it for free. If you dont, it would only be a $35 charge. $100 deductible only applies for lost, stolen, DBR, or liquid damage
ah, cool.
you know how long it'll take to replace/fix a shattered screen like that?
People love to bash on other people. Chill the **** out.
@DirtyShroomz
Not all insurance plans carry a deductible. Barne's and Noble employees don't pay deductible for doctor visits.
My daughter is insured through them and also through my job. Secondly I have a car insurance repair plan. If something happens to my car I don't pay a deductible.

Arent you a Sprint rep? Im kinda shocked you'd take this route but my how wrong you are. My health insurance is no deductible and no co-pay. I do pay 2.50 for prescriptions. Also you're not paying $7 a month for insurance. Half of it is for insurance the other half is to have the in store repair service.

The good news, however, is that their ebay rating is very high. Perhaps they perform a little better under the pressure of the ebay rating system. It's also worth noting that the final price is $509 after factoring in ebay bucks, if you use them.
Saving 50 bucks, but with Amazon, you can keep exchanging for one without defects for 0 dollars and they make it incredibly easy with prepaid labels and cross shipping.
Enjoy the extra 16 gigs, though. Totally worth it if it comes without any flaws.

Maybe I'm an Amazon fanboy or something but, the ease and hassle free return/exchange system is worth whatever extra cost there is. Most of those eBay return/exchange policies are a joke. And these days, it's pretty much impossible to get a perfect electronic device the first time around.

That's not too bad, but still looks like quite a hassle. With Amazon, I clicked a button and entered some text about what is defective(squeaky plastic on the backside by left speaker). They emailed me a prepaid label and scheduled UPS to pick it up AND my new tab will be here tomorrow thanks to cross-shipping.

Maybe I'm an Amazon fanboy or something but, the ease and hassle free return/exchange system is worth whatever extra cost there is. Most of those eBay return/exchange policies are a joke. And these days, it's pretty much impossible to get a perfect electronic device the first time around.

You're not alone. I prefer Amazon as well.

I just received my Galaxy Tab from Amazon yesterday. I can tell you, though, that DataViz is an extremely large store in NYC. If that's who is selling the GT on e-bay I would think they are very reputable.

How did yours turn out?
Check for:
Loose or squeaking plastic on the back side
Dust under the screen
Oil blotches on the screen (they seem to appear when the device is hot)
Random unresponsiveness and reboots
Dead pixels and light bleed
I think those are pretty much the only real issues. The first two I had had no deal pixels, light bleed, or oil blotches.
Also, this post right here someone saying they had wake issues. I haven't heard anything about that one yet.

Yeah but IF you purchase your tablet from a local shop (including tax) then you would've paid more for the 16 then the 32. If I could return my 16 for this 32 I would do it in a heartbeat.

I have honestly not seen any of those issues. In fact, I've had fewer issues than I had on my Xoom that I returned prior to ordering his Tab. So far it has been perfect.
So before this point I have NEVER had a problem with sprint.
Like a normal EVO fanboy I was dying just to pre order my EVO LTE. May 7th came around and i quickly went to sprint.com to pre order. *click, click, *click*
My HTC EVO 4G LTE was pre ordered! Wait, the total is $245.74
A few hours passed and I kept seeing how this site "wirefly" was selling the EVO LTE for 150 bucks with no sales tax and free shipping! I was kinda eh about it because i never heard of the site.
A few more hours passed and saw that the price on wirefly dropped to 119.99!! what a deal! if i would to cancel my order with sprint id saved over 100 bucks!
I quickly call sprint and have been calling sprint. EVERY agent i talk to they tell me i CAN NOT cancel my pre order, the only way i can cancel it is when its about to ship and i have to "refuse" the shipment.
I have called them over 10 times now with each time having a different agent every time, still no luck with this.
Has anyone had any luck with canceling the pre order from sprint??? If so, what was your trick?? I even pulled the "I have been a loyal customer for sprint for over 7 years now"
Sprint customer service reps don't even work for sprint. I have had just about lost my mind until a tech at a corporate store told me they are in a call center some where and have no idea about the phones, and can't do anything that their contract won't allow. Your best bet is live chat on the web site. Once the pre order is made they pay the manufacture ahead of time so you really can't cancel your order. If you refuse your order it will take a looooooonnnnnggggggg time to get your money back.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.....Wayne Gretzky....
i was thinking of trying the 100% satisfaction guarantee method.. its a long shot but they guarantee if i dont like i can return it
I had the same problem with a phone I ordered, then decided I didnt want from an actual Sprint store...I had to wait for it to come in and refuse it, it was a headache, but only because I had to wait a few days for everything to play out.
Not sure about wirefly, but usually when you order from sprint online, the activation fee is waived...(could save you some bux!)
$119.99? I pre-ordered yesterday for $149.99 from Wirefly. I think they have a pre-order price match guarantee though so I might have to call them.
Also, Sprint has to charge sales tax because they have brick and mortar stores in your state. They also add in the ridiculously high sprint activation fee that you will still have to pay for separately if you order from Wirefly. Still, you save $50 and some sales tax if you pick it up from Wirefly.
If I were you, I would order from Wirefly now if you're that antsy about it. Refusing the package is perfectly acceptable. Worst case, you miss the shipment, but you bring the un-opened box to UPS, USPS, FEDEX or whichever company shipped it, and they shouldn't have a problem letting you refuse it.

I hate to quote myself, but few people have had luck. So I tried again today.
Rep transferred me to escalations and they cancelled my pre-order hooray.
This after I had called another number yesterday, only to be told i had to wait for delivery. Guess that was a lazy lie on the reps part.
Only difference between yesterday today, that I could possibly think of was. When rep asked for reason for cancellation, I said "found lower price" yesterday. Today I said "I just changed my mind". I doubt this made a difference, but doesn't hurt to say it. Personally, I think it was the different number I called or the rep escalating me to escalations.
I already received the cancellation confirmation email.
Now the only downside is the rep said, it will take worst case 10 days (could be less) for the upgrade to be reset back to your account. I am gonna be trying to get this wirefly deal in the next few days. Hopefully, it doesn't go away.

First link is just their general site price of 150. Second link is Family and Friends for 120.
So updating my previous statement, I checked my upgrade status on wirefly. I was eligible, so much for ten day wait. More like ten minutes.
I just placed my order on wirefly for 120. Lets wait and see what happens.
Couldn't you call the credit card company and cancel the payment. Isnt Pre orders usually charged around the time its shipped?

Nah..I just went to the Sprint store and placed my pre order there, done deal.

I assume going through wirefly for an upgrade phone won't affect any current discount on your account? I got my 3D last year through studentrate and have been getting 23% off from that.
