I mad a booboo - Droid X General

Ok so here's what happended I used boot animation to change my boot screen. Since then everytime I reboot my phone it goes to the clockworkmod recovery screen and i'll have to select reboot system now to get the phone to boot right. Tried a restore if the phone and still does it. Also tried to repair permissions through rom manager. Any ideas of what to do?
Thanks!

This is one of the problems of having to bootstrap the recovery. If it really bothers you that much you could try SBFing.

Is this stock or a custom rom?
Have you tried getting your boot screen back to its original form?

Clockwork boot.

Well i installed clockwork i think that's what's it called. My brain fried this afternoon. Anyways. Im having problems after install. Everytime i reboot my phone it automatically reboots to clockwork. So i have to end up hitting reboot again. So is there a fix to this or? I have bootstrap installed does that affect it when it reboots? I've search the forums and.no luck. Thx

Try reinstalling Bootstrap app.
IMO I like that it does that..if something happens with your phone ide, much rather have it booting up into a recovery that I can nandroid from... then having it go to a bad android install

Clockwork recovery and bootstrap. Should i have both or just bootstrap?

I'm pretty sure that Clockwork Recovery only shows up if you booted your phone and the Android OS never loaded. As in, if you get stuck on the M logo or get a boot loop, or if you just pull your battery before you load up Android, then Clockwork will show up next time your phone boots since the file created when booting initially will still be there. Yet, if you boot up into Android, the file is deleted and a reboot at that point will simply reboot the phone normally.
I remember reading that the file is created on boot, then deleted once you get to Android. If you never boot up into Android for any reason, then the file isn't deleted. As a result, a reboot with the file still there will cause Clockwork to come up.
I was having the same issue as OP. It got annoying when I was trying out some new boot animations and such. I'm glad it's working alright, but I didn't need to constantly see it for no reason lol. I think the problem was that I was rebooting too early. I just tried this whole process just now and Clockwork came up even though I booted into Android. I tried it all again but waited a while this time. I gave Android time to load up all of my widgets, etc., then I rebooted. Clockwork didn't come up the second time, so I think that was the issue. Whatever process that deletes the file probably wasn't given a chance to do so the first go around.

[Q] ClockworkMod issue

If I boot into recovery and select Reboot System, I get a black screen and then have to do a battery pull to get the phone back up and running.
Anyone else seeing this ?

Ya it happens to me too. If you do what you need from Rom manager it doesn't seem to happen

I had a similar problem to that, and all I did was choose Fix Permissions on the ROM Manager app. I dont know, maybe that might help you guys
Please post questions in Q&A section.

I'm seeing the same exact thing. I had to unroot after a failed Iced GLacier install and now I'm stuck on 2.2 with no OTA and a not working recovery. I've tried to flash directly from fastboot, and from within ROM Manager. Still no go.

[Q] Unable to boot into Koush Bootstrap

Hey guys I need some help here. I just rooted my droid x and installed the koush recovery as stated in the noobs guide to the droid x. i was able to boot into recovery and clear my data and cache and I installed Gingerale 3.0.
Well I cant get wifi tethering to work so I need to install a WUG's patch. Problem is, I cant seem to boot into koush's recovery anymore. I installed it again on the new rom and tapped bootstrap recovery and it said success. Then I tapped reboot recovery and my phone rebooted. The M came up then all I get is black screen with the backlight on. I have waited 15 minutes and same thing. I have to pull the battery and reboot. I can not for the life of me figure out why I cannot boot into clockwork.
I could use some help. Thanks.

Try downloading ROM Manager from the Market. Once you open it up click Flash Recovery and select Droid X. Now try to boot into recovery from ROM Manager.
Thanks for the reply. I have done as you said and still no dice. The phone reboots, the M comes up then screen goes black with the backlight on and thats it. Any other ideas?

Please help stuck on CWM Recover and can't reboot or turn off phone!!!

Please help!
I am running ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0
I'm running cyanogenmod 7.2 and I wasn't really trying to do anything. Just checking the options in recovery mode because I am preparing to sell this phone.
But now I can't get out of recovery. If I select reboot now I just get the clockwordmod recovery logo and it just sits there. Same thing if I select turn phone off.
Has this ever happened to anyone before?! Please help.
Again I wasn't trying to flash anything...change anything...really do anything. And I've been running CM7 for quite a while without issue so not sure why this is happening now.
Any help much appreciated!
Yes I do have a nandroid but it isn't very current so I'd prefer not to use it (not sure it would work anyway) if I don't have to.
Thanks in advance!
Did you use trackpad to select reboot?
How about a battery pull?

Yeah I guess I was worried that would completely brick the phone but it actually did the trick. Thanks.
Still curious what I can do to prevent this from happening in the future...as I would like to sell a fully functioning stable phone.
Thanks though and sorry for the panic post!

I have this same problem, except it does it every time I boot to recovery. I prefer to use recovery to flash roms over the rom manager, but any tiime i make a selection from the main menu, it just shows the clockwork logo and doesn't go anywhere. Does anyone know how to fix it so that I could navigate recovery?
Thanks

Is there a certain button combination I'm supposed to hold down, because it's just stuck at the LG logo.
Powerand vol-. Let go at LG screen briefly. Power and vol- immediately and hold. How I do it, works every time. If you can't boot our repush recovery, time for stock hard flash.
You can't boot into one recovery from another. What are you trying to do?
Do what Steamer said and get into your Recovery - whichever one is already installed as default - you can only have one Recovery system loaded at a time. Once you're in Recovery, either restore your backup, or install a ROM that will boot. After its back to normal, THEN you can change recovery systems.
