Another thread mentioned putting R29 on like the first two methods, then loading another radio I think.
One other method said to just put R29 then goto settings and tell it to manually update the rest. Will this do it in a few minutes?
A friend of mine wanted me to unroot his phone so I don't want to brick it by doing it the wrong way.
Both are using the same method really. It's using the DREAIMG.nbh file to bring it back to stock. It just depends on which DREAIMG.nbh file you use.
so there is different DREAIMG.nbh files?

I was thinking there was only one. Ok great. I wonder why there isn't one that can flash right to 1.6 with current radio and all the bells and whistles.

I haven't seen a 1.6 yet but I do know that there is a 1.5. Below are steps that'll get you to 1.1 and then to 1.5
Taken from here
Code:
Downgrading your G1 to Cupcake 1.5
Load the DreaIMG.nbh File
1. Download the Original DreaIMG.nbh file:
[URL="http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XXSQ0T7W"]Original DREAIMG.nbh[/URL]
2. Extract the .zip file to get the DreamIMG.nbh file. Place the .nbh file in the root of your sd card. (root = not in any folders)
Note: Make sure your sd card is partition as FAT32 or your phone will not detect the .nbh files.
To Format:
- Load your SD card in the card reader and connect to PC.
- Make sure you back up everything on your card. a format will erase all data on the card.
- Now open “My Computer” and right click on the drive with the SD card (Warning! Make sure its the correct drive).
- Click on Format and select FAT32 on the file system drop down and click then click Start.
- Once completed, Copy your files back to the SD card and make sure the “Original DREAIMG.nbh” is at the topmost folder of your SD card.
3. Turn the phone off if it is on.
4. Turn on the phone by holding the Camera button and the End key until the bootloader screen turns on.
5. Hit the End key to start the update. DO NOT INTERUPT THIS PROCESS.
6. Once it is done, hit the trackball to restart the phone. You now are on the stock firmware RC29. You must do the next section to get back to cupcake.
Get Back to Cupcake
1. Download the cupcake update from [URL="http://android-roms.googlecode.com/files/signed-kila-ota-148830.de6a94ca.zip"]HERE[/URL]
2. Rename the .zip file to update.zip
Note: Make sure its update.zip not update.zip.zip. If you cannot update rename your file to update not update.zip
3. Turn off your phone
4. Hold the HOME key while pressing the POWER key
5. You will see a "!" which means you are in recovery
6. Open your keyboard and type alt+l to see text
7. Type alt+s to updpate
8. Congrats you have now downgraded your phone to the Cupcake 1.5 OS
Yea just load DREAIMG.nbh and that will downgrade your build/spl/radio. And then you can go here http://androidoverdrive.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=85 and upgrade to 1.6 for non rooted phones.
Hi, I know that to take off the custom roms, you need to flash the stock rom but how do you remove android, clockwork mod, and magldr off the phone? my phone has been acting up and i need to send it back through the hd2 insurance but i need to reset everything first. Thank you!
i need help how i can restore all settings plz help me
Download the spesific rom for your device from the HTC website. Eg if you are on the HD2 o2, you would download that rom. It comes as an .exe file.
Right click on the file and extract the contents to someware on your desktop, look for the .nbh file. Cant quite remember the name but it will be the biggest file. Rename it to leoimg.nbh and copy it on to your SD card.
Make sure it is the correct rom for your phone or it wont work.
Once you have done this reboot the phone and hold the volume down button at the same time to get into the boot loader. It will then prompt you to install the rom. This will remove everything and restore back to factory default for you and reinstate your warrenty!
Next time you shoud use the search button. If you had did this you had found this thread about it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1066852&highlight=restore+factory
Good luck!

In order to continue proper drivers must be installed. Check if when connecting usb there is on screen "USB". However if you install the exe file your SPL will not be restored to original.
If you want to return it to factory you need to do it via SD card. Or by exe but you then have to install SPL manually.
Try again, rename the largest nbh file to leoimg.nbh put it to sdcard root and reboot to bootloader.
Bootloader is the one with 4 different colors. To boot powerup phone and hold Volume Down key.

There is "USB" on the screen and I believe i have the proper divers installed.
I downloaded the 3.14 t-mobile official rom and renamed the largest file (.nbh) to leoimg.nbh (and i tried LEOIMG.nbh, if it makes a difference for the CAPS) but nothing appeared on the bootloader screen. I tried to install the rom by the .exe file because i would rather get the official rom on so i can remove hspl manually but the "Next" button is grayed out. It won't let me go onto the next step. :/
What size sd card did you use? It usually wont work on a card bigger than four gigabytes. Try it on a class two, four gigabyte or less micro sd card.

i tried using a smaller sd card (4 gigabytes) and had no luck. the "next" button is still voided out..

even if i don't modify the files, the "next" button is grayed out (can't move on to the next step). It doesn't really make sense and i'm kind of stuck now.

Disclaimer: this may cripple your phones sms and mms functionality do at own risk
Anyways after going crazy for the past 3 weeks, searching all of the internet and obviously getting lots of crap from people who have iPhones I finally figured out a fix for mms images to show up full size on t-mo usa.
p.s. be nice this is my first post and i'm trying to be helpful to those who ran into the same issue
Things needed:
- rooted dell streak 5 (running froyo)
- mms.apk from cyanogenmod nexus one rom (cm6.1.1)
- t-mobile sim card
- root explorer installed on phone
- memory card
The process
Step 1.
load the mms.apk file from cyanogenmod onto any folder on your memory card
Step 2.
use root explorer to navigate to following folder on your phone:
system/app
Step 3.
mount R/W (enable read/write)
scroll down until you find the file labeled "mms.apk" copy the file to a safe spot on your memory card
Step 4.
navigate into folder with cyanogenmod "mms.apk" file, cut and paste file into directory from step #2 ( enable r/w if needed, overwrite file already there)
Step 5.
press and hold on mms.apk file, scroll down to permissions, put a check mark on all 3 in top row(owner)
Step 6.
look within "/system/app" for a file right underneath the mms.apk, I'm not fully sure about the name as far as i recall the name began with "mmso...." delete this file.
Step 7.
Reboot your device
Step 8.
navigate back to system apps folder and install mms.apk as if it were a regular app (not sure if r/w permissions are needed here)
Step 9.
Reboot device, open up messaging app, press menu button then click settings.
scroll down til you see "custom user agent" selection, select nokia n95 from the menu.
Step 10.
give yourself a pat on the back if everything worked correctly and you get full size mms
Notes:
-the device i'm using is an aws version of the streak mini not sure if this would work for unlocked streaks

Actually what you have to do is like this step:
1. Download the full CORRECT STOCK ROM. You have to be sure that it is the CORRECT STOCK ROM (not only the STOCK ROM)
2. You have to extract the .exe file using 7zip, WInzip or WInrar (no need to change to Zip first. You can directly extract it)
3. Find the among the extracted files, the file name: RUU_signed.nbh. And rename it to: leoimb.nbh (remember .nbh is an extension for image file)
4. Format your micro sd card with Fat32. (dont forget to back up all the data therein). Copy the leoimg.nbh to the root of your sd card using card reader.
Some the condition of your sd card affect the process, such as bad block, damage, etc. Also, consider to use lower capacity, 4-8 GB is recommended (although I never have problem flashing via sandisk micro Sd card with 16GB capacity)
5. Go into bootloader screen and wait until the four colors screen change to all white color and there will appear the instruction. Just follow the onscreen instruction.
Done..

1. Turn the phone off.
2. Hold Volume Down button.
3. While holding Volume Down, turn on the phone with the End/Power button as usual.
4. You should see a tri-color screen. Now you may let go of the volume down button.
Connect to your PC and the bottom should say "USB" instead of "Serial". Then you can flash whatever you'd like (if you have HSPL installed).
Hello everybody!!!
I'm a very noob user, so i please a need a step by step help!
I tryed to install a dual boot on my hd2, with android ICS (MIUI) on SD, and windows mobile 6,5 on NAND.
To get that result i used this Guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1504369
..but, in the the guide is written:
"Instructions:
Well you know just extract everything and put the miuiics folder in your root of sd card, you know the rest.."
maybe a link to the guide is better then "you know the rest..."!
I don't Know the rest, and I proceded in this way:
1) Inistalled the MAGLDR
2) copyed the rom of android on a SD card
3) Configured the setting to make a boot to SD and Android working perfectly!!
Now I even need to use windows mobile 6.5, but I don't know to switch on it!
I think that MAGLDR is overwritten on WM6.5 rom, and now I have a phone with only android, where is impossible to make a dual boot!!!
Anyone can write me the procedure step by step to retry to install correctly the dual boot with WM6,5 and android MIUI ics? Is even good a link with a guide that I didn't found!!!
I have 2,08 HSPL.
Thanks anticipately for your explains!

First link explains how get Android installed and running from SD using CLRCAD.EXE and HaRet.exe = "you know the rest..."
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732380
and also a link how to get WM back on the HD2.

BTW: the link you attached is not a guide, it is the ROM itself with few instruction for people who have already some experiences
Cheers.....LinChina
Please do some more reading before flashing anything, if you didn't have an HD2 you would probably end up hard bricking your device if you didn't read. MAGLDR replaces WinMo. You need to boot into the bootloader, flash an official stock ROM via USB then run the SD build via CLRCAD and HARET.

OK you seem to be very confused with your terms, so I'll simplify things for you:
1. Turn the phone off
2. Boot into the bootloader (stripey screen) by holding power and volume down
3. Flash the latest 3.14 stock ROM (WinMo) for your particular device (see on HTC's official website, it has the downloads plus a guide)
4. Place the 'Android' folder on the root of your SD card. Note that the name of this folder may vary from build to build, but it is always the folder containing all of the files.
5. Boot into WinMo then find the file explorer
6. Open the 'Android' folder (or whatever it's called) and find the file 'CLRCAD.exe' and run it. You will not see any visual change
7. Find the file 'HARET.exe' and run it. Android will be booted.
8. After first boot, be patient. Give the device time to settle and then once everything seems fine (after at most 5 minutes) reboot.
9. Once you reboot, you will have WinMo again. Simply repeat steps 6 and 7 to boot into Android.
If this guide isn't simple enough for you, then in all honesty I don't think I can help you much, you'll have to find someone who's more noob-friendly

Thank you so much for the help, but i just tryed this way!!!
In my situation, at point 8 of the guide, my phone restarts after about 30 second (no 5 minute) and then go in loop...
After the restart, the phone enter in WM and ask me to run CLRCAD.exe, and HARET.exe (in this order) and i accept.
The phone starts the loading screen of android, and restarts again.
It always restarts, without going into Android! I have seen at least 10 restarts before try to install Magldr!!!
I don't know the cause, but i think that android ICS is not compatible with the "Android loader V6". I used this loader with android gingerbread without problem!
Now in the link with ROM, i read:
"Ported using Portadroid Ultimate v4.0: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1094372 "
but the page does not exist!!!! What is portadroid ultimate? is it the bootloader?
I'd not worry about the bootloader and other terms much if I were you, it's not important for SD Android anyway
I apologise if I can't be much more use but I haven't used SD Android in a long time . The only thing I can think of is this: EDIT: see bottom of the post first, then try this
1. Find the SD Android build which you have downloaded on your PC
2. Open the folder and find the file 'startup.txt'
3. Find the line 'Rel_path=' and make sure that the next word matches the name of the folder in which the build is stored, for example if I had an SD build with the folder name 'Android', that line in startup.txt should also say 'Rel_path=Android'.
The only other thing I can think of is that somehow the folder isn't in the root of your SD card. Make sure the folder which contains the files (so in the example I gave previously this folder would be called Android) is copied to the root of your SD card. There should be no sub-folders or anything like that, just /Android.
EDIT: I think I may have found it now, try uninstalling the automatic loader app you have (Android Loader V6) and running these files manually rather than doing it automatically. If I'm not mistaken, this app looks for a folder named 'Android' by default, but the name of the folder your ICS build is stored in may be something different.
Just to add that ICS SD builds are often in an 'ICS' folder instead of 'Android'
It shouldn't matter using CLRCAD.exe, and HARET.exe though.

That is correct. If I read it right, Android Loader had been set up already for a previous build. When you do this, you tell the app what folder to look for - i.e. "Android". Now that you have a different build, different folder name, the app cannot find all the associated files to boot from SD properly.
Your folder name is miuiics
