Ok, go ahead in sharing what you know.
Here you have an article about CF vs SSD.
Conclusion is that much better go to a SSD: Much more reability and durability.

Pretec have announced a 12 (Twelve) Gb CF card, as published in PocketPC magazine.
It is expected to be available from the second half of 2004.
Oh, forgot to mention the cost is expected to be just under $10,000!
Good news is the 6Gb card has been reduced from $7499 to $3499. Go grab a bargain.
well you need a backpack to use CF cards
add that to the already imho insanely high price
I still remember the day I got my first 10 MB HDD on my IBM PC (the big blue!!) and I kept wondering what the hell in this world could fill such a HUGE disk space!!
Now looking to the price I paid for my daughter's new 80 GB HDD ... I know for sure it's only a matter of time when we will get the XDA VI with 100 GB built-in drive for less than the price of this new CF card

Absolutely, if only because i would never in my life would pay $ 10.000,= for MP3 storage
(unless we get a major inflation, and a leaf of bread costs $ 500,= )
Seriuslly.....
You've got to be kidding. You cant be serius, much expensive rather than buying a new car, new pc, new xda 5.
So wmpoweruser has a post about this microSD to SD adaptor that will allow you to use up to a 32GB SD card on your Raphael!
Pretty sure it will work on any other device that supports SDHC.
just thought you guys would like to know.
Now if someone wanted to make themselves rich they could design a back cover for various phones with the SD adapter made into it and market it.With the SD card adapter and ribbon going on the inside. I bet a back cover thats the same size as oem could be made for most htc phones. Between all the touch pros, diamonds and variants you could sell 10s of thousands.
i think the whole 32 gb hype is a little bit too much :S
if you want 32 GB buy a Ipod. use this phone for calling etc. you would be crazy to buy 97,50 sd adapter and then 32 gb card for 100 euro's :S

If all we wanted to do was make calls and a couple of calender entries, we could have all stuck with a crappy moto or nokia. This phone is my primary music and video player also, not to mention GPS...all of which take up good amounts of space. That said, I'm not going to start cutting the back cover of my phone apart just yet since the 16gb cards are dropping in price already.
Sooooo.....the Fuze is able to handle a 16Gig MicroSD card?....why do the infos on it say only 8?
How do you suppose HTC could certify the device compatible with memory that has not been released? This is quite common, as the tech advances the capacity increases, compatibilty continues until the format changes. Future microSDHC will continue to work until something changes in the form factor or standard.

FWIW, my Fuze is using the 16gb card okay. Finally, got lots of storage for the nonphone stuff
Considering that a 32 gig sd card can be had for 125 bucks I may buy the adapter and use my extended battery back with the stock battery. This would let me put it all inside the phone and not have to do the hack like the page OP linked to. A small pice of foam would hold the stock battery in the cover fine. 16 gig sd cards are 27 bucks, beats the price on a micro sd anyday. I wonder if anyone carrys the adapter cheaper then this one place since its almost 100 bucks.

And I thought I was pimp with my 4GB card. You guys are crazy!
I bought a Solidata Z6 64 GB 1.8' MLC ZIF II SSD that according to the distributor was specified to work with HTC Shift 9500 but I can't get the shift to recognize the disk. Anyone else had problems with this disk? The disk works perfectly in another computer (tried it by old troubleshooting-habit )
If I can't get this drive to work, which SSD disk are you guys happy with for the Shift 9500?
/Indys
I just installed this one:
Integral INSSD128GP18MXZ 128GB SSD ZIF PATA
got it at eBay for 90,-€ shipping included.

Cool how smooth and silent my shift is running now.
Hi guys!
I'd like to ask what is the best option, shield pro with a HDD or shield with 16GB SSD?
I'll use it not like a gaming console, but just as some tiny desktop with a various screen. I'm curious, could I change the HDD in the PRO version in future? What is the better choice, if I'll install linux on it?
Thanks!

Im a Gamer but i have the 16 gb variant and thaths enough for me.Im lucky. I mount a 500 GB external storage, then setting up for internal storage, so i have no problem.
I have read that 16GB version is faster.

I did not know that. but why buy 500gb version, if you can expand the internal memory to a hard disk, a USB stick or an sd card anyway.
There is a promotion on till the 1st of May where they bundle in another controller with either version (at least they do here in the UK). You could always sell it to recoup some cash, they retail for £50. I love the device, now is a pretty good time to buy to be fair.
Personally I bought the 16GB model with the remote bundled on promotion. I've added a 500GB USB2 external drive I had laying around as adopted storage (thanks to Marshmallow) and it works well enough for my liking. A 64GB MicroSD is ~£15 or a 1TB USB3 external HDD would be ~£40. You could probably get the 16GB model and a 2TB HDD for the price of the Pro model in fairness.
I wish I bought the 16th instead of the 500gb. Don't get me wrong, the 500Tb is nice but since I like to run fastboot -w once a week (j/k) it would only take me about 2 minutes to do a good wipe and not 2 hours. I do like stock restyle and full android more than stock. Unlocking the boot loader for root requires the wipe as well.
I bought it when android 5.1 did not hand memory as adoptive memory. Now 6.0 does and drives are cheap.

Why did you order that version?
I might get one of these, as it seems to be the most versatile and powerful handheld gaming system you can buy. The million dollar question is whether you'll be able to emulate Switch games at some point.
I would've gotten the 64GB version, but since I don't know if the storage can be user-upgraded (and it looks like it can't be), and the 256GB is both bigger and faster, I decided on that.
$130 is a lot for 192GB and a faster interface, but oh well.
I'm wondering if this can be opened and replaced with another M.2 storage option? I could definitely see installing a 1TB stick. Valve has said these should be developer friendly, so let's hope for some serious hackability.

if it's expandable, mine gets a 2TB drive
btw reserved the 512GB because of the glass
Got 256GB mainly because running an OS on emmc storage is not great for the chips health. I will be buying a 512GB micro sd card for mostly emulation isos and GTA 5. The internal storage I will use for smaller online games to load in faster lol

it can BUT you must use a 2230 sized ssd and it is kind of buried and it has tight tolerances i would not be shocked if 512gb is the biggest that fits right now and we will need to wait for single chip 1 and 2 tb units to exist...
I got the 256 version because of the anti glare screen. You are paying for something you'll not use. Once you put a protector it will become glossy, and putting a matte protector on top of the original mate is dumb. I will upgrade my Deck to 1 gb anyway.
Got 64gb version and upgraded to 512gb ssd (ebay, used). Works great.

there are three versions of the Steam Deck available for pre-order: the 64GB eMMC model, the 256GB NVMe SSD model, and the 512GB NVMe SSD model. Each version comes with different storage capacities and prices.
