you cant remember what the error is?

Have you tried flashing to stock? It sounds like you have a bad flash from a previous time... the error number would be a good place to start as Jamezelle pointed out.

See if you can find a 512MB or 1GB microSD card.
Should be VERY cheap for a 512MB now.
It's what I've used whenever I flashed a VOGUIMG.NBH file - never had a failure.
That would be your last try - maybe you can borrow one from somebody?
There have been issues with the Vogue recognizing 2GB and higher from a tri-color flash screen.
512MB and 1GB should work always - fresh format it as Fat-32

I have a 4GB card and it works fine
Never had an issue with flashing.
Although there were times that I got a USB error, but I followed the on screen instruction and then it worked. (Unplug, Take out battery, put battery back in, Plug in, and viola )

I am gonna go on a limb and guess that you have a non-SDHC 4 GB card.

i been flashing android and roms in both my tp2 and vogue with the same 16g sd and no prob... why dont just remove the sd car but it on bootloader and flash nfsfan rom and then flash oem rom and then flash anything u want ( i did it when i accidently unplug while loading a rom and was stuck in tri color)

well it didn't work i went on and upgraded to an incredible thank you all i'm gonna miss my vogue tho

Have you done a HardSPL first?
did you rename the nbh to leoimg.nbh?
Try as they have suggested. if you're issues persist post in hardspl thread or continue here! i have moved you over to general since this isn't rom development.
oh just thought, lotta people reported probs trying to use sd cards of 16gb. try a 2gb for preference.

That's probably it because when i did it before it was a 4gb card. I don't have a 4gb anymore so i guess i will need to get one or find another way.

Frustrated!

I am running energyROM on my tmo HD2 and Ive downloaded 3 different versions of Android and it cant seem to boot any of them! I never had a problem booting Android now I cant at all! I formatted my card 3 times, flashed new rom and it still just sits there at the screen with the HTC logo, what do I need to install to get it to work again?

I tried another card and it worked, but the card thats not working on is a 16GB SanDisk Class 2 that I paid $40 for! Is there anyway to fix this issue?
ouch! $40 for a class 2?
ive had luck in the past reviving " dead " sd cards bu useing a linux box, removing the partition and reformating from scratch.
its worked when windows wouldnt. on the plus side a linux box will report bad sectors etc that would otherwise be overlooked by mr bills silly os.
if all is good to go, your lucky.
on a side note, geting a fast (class 6) card will make a diferance on how well android runs.

Help i cant remove hspl

Im sending my phone back to htc so I flashed back a standard rom. I thought this would remove hspl but it didnt now Im ****ting my pants. How do i get it off?
Did you flash stock rom via sd card? That is the only way that flashing a stock rom removes hspl. Otherwise the much simpler method is to rerun HSPL2 and select your original spl (ending in 0000) - assuming you can remember which spl you were on.
how do i flash the rom via sd?

Find nbh file of the rom you want, copy to root of sd card and rename it to LEOIMG.nbh, boot into bootloader and follow instructions. If it doesn't pick up the image, try reformatting sd card (preferably a small one ie 2gb) to FAT32 and retry.
Ive renamed the the file but bootloader does nothing, i only have a 16gb sd. I also put the whole rom on the card and selected it using file explorer and now the windows colour dots are just going around in a circle.
Did you copy just the .nbh file from the rom to your sd card and rename that and not the entire exe file? You also won't be able to flash via file explorer.
Seriously though if you can't flash via sd card (bigger sd cards don't alsways work - although my 16gb card does) just do the second and much easier option I gave you above, ie flash the rom via exe as you have done and then run HSPL2 and select your stock spl.
I cant do that cos now windows 7 wont install the bloody drivers lol. Im FUBAR'd
Be careful in your rom selection. This should ALWAYS be stressed when telling people how to do this. It's not simply a case of getting the one you want. You should always try to get the original rom your phone came with, or at a minimum one that the htc site recommends when you enter your country and phone serial. Flashing a bad rom via sd is pretty much the only way to brick your phone. This should not be forgotten or taken for granted.
That said, download the correct rom, rename to leoimg.nbh, stick it on the root of your sd card. Power off phone, insert sd card, hold volume down, press power.
(yeah I know clyde just typed the instructions, I just like them explained this way).

Have you double checked you card is Fat 32? I couldn't get a leoimg.nbh file recognised, until I found a similar post saying that it had to be Fat32. My card was in plain old fat...

Good point m8, I assumed that as he had already flashed the rom via exe that he had the right one. (I know that's a dangerous assumption given the level of some of the users on this site as some shouldn't be authorised to use anything more technical than a tv remote - no offence elgrego4 ). Noted and I will include that important statement in future advice given
I've just seen from your signatrure elgrego4 that your rom is listed as LEO70 (ie WP7). Did you reformat your sd card after using WP7?

Turn the phone off..Then turn it on while holding volume down. This will take you to the bootloader menu( rainbow color). Plug the phone unto your PC then flash the original ROM that you downloaded from HTC site.No need to sync..Hope this will help.
Hey man if you want to remove HSPL you can just run the HSPL program from your pc with your phone connected in bootloader. It's the same procedure as installing HSPL, but now you must select SPL 2.08.000 instead of HSPL 2.08 while running the program.
I did it this way while I had to send my phone back and had no problems with it =)
You can check your SPL version in Bootloader.
yes it was fat 32, ive borrowed a 2gig so i will try that next
Its flashing with the 2gb card so fingers and everything else crossed
Keep us posted pls. I'm thinking also to bring back because of pixel error on the screen.

SPL-3.03.000 is on now. Thanks for the help guy Knowing my luck htc wont find a fault
Pleasure m8, good luck.
Was 3.03 your original spl? If so I guess you do know it's a mission to get back to flash hspl once you get your phone back. You will first have to downgrade your rom to get to a lower version spl and then run hspl.

Another note, when it boots to android there is activity for a split second in the tool bar and it says that the sd card is near full. i dont know if this means anything.

You dont flash the android rom, you copy it onto your sd card. Providing you have a MAGLDR SD android ROM it will install.
Have you setup your sd card to support dual boot?
I understand. Ive gone through numerous tutorials and have set up my sd card. when booting into wp7 i have 7 gigs and when i mount the sd in my laptop i have the other have remaining on my sd.
i suppose its the magldr sd android rom thats the issue
any insight here?

ok good - sounds like you're nearly there. Make sure your Android partition is set as PRIMARY
- yes that link is where you need to look next - i never bothered with that though.
I searched the sd ROMS that supported MAGLDR. They usually had special instructions to make them work.
otherwise search thru that thread.
Zarathustrax has created quite a few pre-made MAGLDR boot files - search for his posts in that thread.
alright ill try that one
ive gone toe to toe with FEB 04 Copes
it boots to the starting htc screen and hangs there.

if you interrupted the first install while it was trying to create the data.img it wont boot no matter how many times you try. If you think that might be the case - delete the data.img file on the sd and try again.

hmm, odd, not sure but perhaps an SD card issue?
those seem to be the root course for most issues perhaps this is another one! get a different SD card and give that aa shot, dont spend money you dont have because there is a chance that card might not work either! so if you have one kicking about give that a shot...just a thought, it might not be it but its worth a shot.
thanks but I think SD isn't a problem. It worked well for almost a month.

Not saying you are wrong, bit maybe you should consider the fact that it could be your SD card. WP7Cdoes this weird format called RAID to hour SD cardcthe first time you boot it up. This allows WP7 to use the SD card as the internal memory for the phone. This is the same of a native WP7 device, yes they use SD cards for internal memory all of the current ones do. Anyway this format is bad enough on a SD card, but you add the fact that it is constantly being read from and wrote to. This can kill a already overly used SD card, or a cheap sub are SD card.
His right, don't rule it out until you can rule it out! SD issues are huge and can attack at any moment, my own experience is that if I delete some music, approx 200mb it allows windows to use a certain portion of the card for system usage, it will crash and restart, didn't get this for months until I filled up the card to the point windows wanted to access that space, filling it past that space corrected the problem oh an my computer can't detect any issues with the card so its nit a case of being faulty, its a case of not meeting the spec needed for wp7 on that portion of my card
But problem is that it heppened after I installed WP7 even if I changed it for Android.
I'm sorry I forgot to mention that the last time it heppened I was usnig android NAND.

quite a significant oversight not mentioning Android does it as well!
lol
ok, well i suggest you flash back to a official standard WM6.5 ROM, that will erase the HSPL/SPL and MAGLDR, if its still happening then its going to be a hardware issue with your phone.

yes his right, but if you didnt know that then i suggest you search and read up on it, there can be a few wee problems flashing via SD, mostly around the SD card not working, so read up, do it, and see if it makes a difference!
