This was/is a popular problem in the G2 forums - anyone experience these reboots with their Desire Z?

Hi there,
currently I'm using a SD version of the Desire HD build from MDJ.
I'm going to change to NAND as soon as I find the (for me) "perfect" build.
I'm checking every day, what new builds has been released over night.
For the moment Nexus builds arent't an option, because I don't like the camera and some other optical stuff.
Anyway, I was looking for new Desire HD builds and found now a Desire Z one... After short testing of the SD version I can't find any differences
Does anybody know the differences relation with the HD2 (Leo)?
Thanks for your help
OK, for anybody who is interested...
it's seems that there are more ore less minor diefferences BUT since the Desire Z has an hardware keyboard, Sense UI can be used in landscape mode
Hello everyone.... I only got my second hand tmous hd2 just yesterday and hate asking but....
I installed
[01 FEB][TMOUS][LEO1024][CWM] CMYLXGO's Stock Desire HD(2) [KERNEL:MDJ 10.4OC][RMNET]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915159
but now am experiencing two simple problems
1. the phone shuts off for no reason.... i googled it and saw I was not imagining things
2. all issues relating to audio produce a compromised output
ie calls, mp3 and video are robot ish....
As a total noob....what do you recommend i do
Thanks for any advice ....
You need to post in the thread of the build you downloaded, OR better yet, read the first couple of posts in that thread. More than likely your questions are answered there, as both of your problems are quite common and well documented.
Can anybody try this and check if it is making the home screen lag?
I have tried using it on Launcher pro Plus /ADW EX /Stock Gingerbread Launcher.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975413
Also please mention what ROM/Launcher/kernel you are using.
So far no problems. Running it at 45fps using GingerMex FAST 1.0.1 (with Flippy's kernel) and Go Launcher EX.
Hmmm...ok let me try it on a similar Setup. From the looks of it. I think it is a CM7 related 2D driver issue.
Thanks a ton for he feedback.
Now if anyone would be kind enough to try it out on a Stock HTC Desire Z ROM / CM7 with Stock Kernel / CM6 / VIrtuos.
I wanna figure out if its just me who is facing issues. Have already tried CM7 with stock kernel and Virtuos.
What's the problem you're having with it? Bad lag?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 running Cyanogenmod.

Exactly... lag between homescreen transitions. Are you experiencing the same?
The wallpaper itself seems to be slow, i haven't noticed any massive lag or screen issues though...
overall a lil bit slow on cm7, but the main problem is the bad looking of your graphics.
Yeap...its very slow on my opinion. Not the wallpaper itself but i makes the Homescreen go slow..dont know how else to out this.
The latest version is just amazing. Fixes almost every issue.
Check it out guys.
Even if the general question "What's the best build" is asked very often, I think my question is more specific.
I am searching a good build for daily use with HTC Sense and I think the best is one which is based on the Desire HD.
So I found the MCCM 4.5 Desire HD build and the one from Rafroid.
But which of these two is the best, has someone tested it during a longer period of time ? Or is there another good HTC Sense build for SD ?
Sorry, I have only tested MCCM HD v4.5, but I can say that it is an extremely fast build, runs like my friend's Desire HD. The main problem I found with it was the high battery drain, although this may be due to any number of other factors, and eventually I rebooted and my battery drain was 60 m/a (compared to an already high 11 m/a I had earlier). This wasn't a reported bug though so it was probably a completely random glitch, which only happened to me . Currently using AmeriCanAndroid, and I would definitely recommend this too. I never thought I would like a pure Gingerbread build, but this one is perfect. I don't have any experience with Rafdroid, but it looks to be as good as MCCM's build, judging by the comments/reviews. Try both of them, and decide for yourself. SD builds are so easy to switch between, so it shouldn't be difficult (just use the provided 2gb MicroSD if you are non-US HD2). Hope I have been able to be of help in some way
I also just saw in the Q and A section of Rafdroid that there is wake up lag, which is not an issue in MCCM HDv4.5. I found that as long as I left at least one second between lock and unlock in MCCMs build, the device would unlock in 3 seconds at the most.
Hello
I have tested both , mccm and rafdroid for longer time. Speed is nearly the same. Battery drain is on rafdroid like on winmo and good for dayley use.
in the past 5 days since I started this Android roms on my hd2 I tested like 10 different roms. in my opinion all the desire hd ones have major lags, from refresh rate to screen delay sometimes it tests your patience =) but this one DL Desire Series does the work for me
Hello,
I had an Xperia Play for some time and am a total noob on flashing and installing kernels and roms, so I wanted to ask the people here that may have some experience with different ones.
Basically i'd like to know about input lag experiences. I used to have the stock Xperia Play that, while sluggish, had no noticeable input lag.
I then installed Xperia NXT 2 with Lupus GB and while it performed better I noticed massive input lag on everything, most noticeable in games. (this was along with the display looking a lot smoother so maybe this is due to some kind of vsync or similar feature going on).
I had the same problem with another ROM called "NXT Gaming".
I tried looking all over this forum and googling in general but I haven't seen this specific issue addressed anywhere.
So I guess my question is, in the interest of not blindly going out there trying ROMs/Kernels one by one... has anyone noticed this? Is it the Kernel? Is it the ROM? and do you have any ROMs/Kernels you can recommend that don't have this issue as far as you know?
Thanks in advance.
