Hello everyone.... I only got my second hand tmous hd2 just yesterday and hate asking but....
I installed
[01 FEB][TMOUS][LEO1024][CWM] CMYLXGO's Stock Desire HD(2) [KERNEL:MDJ 10.4OC][RMNET]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915159
but now am experiencing two simple problems
1. the phone shuts off for no reason.... i googled it and saw I was not imagining things
2. all issues relating to audio produce a compromised output
ie calls, mp3 and video are robot ish....
As a total noob....what do you recommend i do
Thanks for any advice ....
You need to post in the thread of the build you downloaded, OR better yet, read the first couple of posts in that thread. More than likely your questions are answered there, as both of your problems are quite common and well documented.

Hey all,
Let's get a few ideas for 'everyday' builds that have little to no issues present.
This thread isn't the place to recommend 'nightly', bleeding edge stuff! Or stuff you've only had on your phone for 5 minutes!
There are so many builds out there for testing, and lord know's I'm someone who likes to mess with his HD2, but for people who just want to get on with a build that's as complete as complete can be... we need a list. No doubt time will make this list obsolete before long, but let's do it anyway.
I'm not even sure if there are any builds that can be considered almost 'complete' but I may be surprised.
I haven't switched to NAND yet as I need WinMobile for a couple of things but the way things are going it's only a matter of time. I'm using Darkstone's SuperRAM 1.5 FroYo build which has been a great build for as long as I've been using it (since before Christmas).
It's without doubt the most 'complete' SD/RAM build I've tried but I've experienced the following issues out of the box:
- Robot voice on first call made on boot (on lots of radios, but I'll keep trying)
- Battery life often jumps to ~60mA in standby for seemingly no reason, otherwise it's a good 4-9mA most of the time.
- Some occasional hiccups in data connection, but very rare.
- The camera app is basic/ugly (guess it's stock Froyo) and pics show up twice / are in 4:3 - but to be honest I haven't looked into this issue.
So as an everyday build it's fantastic, but not perfect. I'd recommend it to anyone not wanting to go down the NAND route who wishes to have a reliable, stable and speedy Android build.
So what would YOU recommend from experience for an ALMOST PERFECT / STABLE Android?

From experience, I'd recommend that everyone interested in Android read through all the ROM threads (1st post at least), and then make an informed decision where to start. After that, if they have any issues they should try a different ROM.
Since different people experience different things you can't tell people what will and won't work. They need to try themselves, to find out.
Other than that, each ROM thread has a list of usual suspects "working/not working", so we already have a list of these things.
I just got my HD2 a couple days ago an went with MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v2.6 A2SD+ NAND build which was nice and easy to flash over and has really impressed me.
The only problem I have, however, is that the talk mic is too loud and people I call complain that it sounds like I am on speaker phone. I've tested it a bit and it seems that it is too loud.
Obviously the build I am using is not the newest, but has this been addressed in something like pongster's HyperDroid builds?
I've searched all around and this seems to be an issue that was more common when the MDJ build was released, but it would seem people are still having issues with some newer builds?
Thanks so much!
So, I have switched over to the HyperDroid builds and it didn't help the problem, I also went ahead and followed the proposed solution on this thread and haven't really noticed much of an improvement. Is there no way to throw an app in the signal path and just turn the gain down? Or better yet run some sort of background noise reduction?

Even if the general question "What's the best build" is asked very often, I think my question is more specific.
I am searching a good build for daily use with HTC Sense and I think the best is one which is based on the Desire HD.
So I found the MCCM 4.5 Desire HD build and the one from Rafroid.
But which of these two is the best, has someone tested it during a longer period of time ? Or is there another good HTC Sense build for SD ?
Sorry, I have only tested MCCM HD v4.5, but I can say that it is an extremely fast build, runs like my friend's Desire HD. The main problem I found with it was the high battery drain, although this may be due to any number of other factors, and eventually I rebooted and my battery drain was 60 m/a (compared to an already high 11 m/a I had earlier). This wasn't a reported bug though so it was probably a completely random glitch, which only happened to me . Currently using AmeriCanAndroid, and I would definitely recommend this too. I never thought I would like a pure Gingerbread build, but this one is perfect. I don't have any experience with Rafdroid, but it looks to be as good as MCCM's build, judging by the comments/reviews. Try both of them, and decide for yourself. SD builds are so easy to switch between, so it shouldn't be difficult (just use the provided 2gb MicroSD if you are non-US HD2). Hope I have been able to be of help in some way
I also just saw in the Q and A section of Rafdroid that there is wake up lag, which is not an issue in MCCM HDv4.5. I found that as long as I left at least one second between lock and unlock in MCCMs build, the device would unlock in 3 seconds at the most.
Hello
I have tested both , mccm and rafdroid for longer time. Speed is nearly the same. Battery drain is on rafdroid like on winmo and good for dayley use.
in the past 5 days since I started this Android roms on my hd2 I tested like 10 different roms. in my opinion all the desire hd ones have major lags, from refresh rate to screen delay sometimes it tests your patience =) but this one DL Desire Series does the work for me
Hello.
I know that there have been lots of topics like this one but all of them are old and ROMs have been updated since. I wanted to hear some opinions from users. I have 3 ROMs which I thought about: HD2O, DFT, XBmod-Yuki.
Actually I'm using HD2O. It works fine, it is smooth and fast but I just ordered 16gb microSD and I will be going to flash WP7 again anyway so i wanted to ask about your opinions about the best one. I picked those 3 because they are the most popular as I can see and I am only interested in Mango builds. I could of course try them all at my own but I've read that one of them takes 2 hours to install and then I'll have to use it a couple of days to find out if it's good enough.
I will be more than grateful if you could write here some pros and cons in using those builds. I've read that some have heating issues, some have WiFi issues and I want to know how are things going today. Are the problems there still? As far I haven't had problems with HD2O but as I said I will have to reflash on new microSD so I could flash other ROM if I found out that it will be better than the one I'm using.

XBmod-Yuki
XBmod-Yuki has worked fine for me, got me up to 7740 and Marketplace. The only non-functioning component is the compass.
Yeah, 1 vote for HD2O. For me, HD2O's ROM is not as smooth as Yuki's one but the battery last much longer
hey where can i get these roms the 2 listed here thanks
i'm using yuki's rom v2 and everything is running smooth on my TMOUS HD2 except for 2 things:
1: Battery life is very low. lucky to get 24 hours on regular use. however, using the camera trick seems to have helped this a lot.
2: speaker phone does not work properly on calls. It is the same volume as without speaker phone, so I still have to keep the phone next to my ear. anyone know a fix for this one?
I'll try HD2O, because it seems more easily.
What is the XBmod-Yuki better than HD2O at? Can you tell me some usefull things XBmod-Yuki can and HD2O can't?
i'm using the DFT W7. My phone can last all day on idle without charge. If i used it like play some games, surf the internet on wifi for like 5 minutes and listen to music for about an hour, my phone would last around 15 hours or so in total with idle. everything is running smooth for me. a few crashes every now and then, but only when my wifi is on.
I think I'll stay at HD2O so. I thought that the other builds maybe have some extra features but battery drainage seems to be the only difference. I'm listening to the music few hours a day and my Wi-Fi is almost always on and battery stays from 6 AM to 10 PM without problems. And no crashes or freezes at all.
I'd recommend the Yuki-Xmod ROM. I've been using it since september (7720 Mango) without any real trouble, battery life usually gets me through the days without issues. Actually, I almost forgot that I wasn't using a genuine WP7 handset! Indeed only the compass isn't working... had everything else (Marketplace, Zune, HTC apps) working like a charm!
Only yesterday something gave up on me: the storage card (8g Sandisk) suddenly is no longer recognized, resulting in continuous rebooting of the phone. I'm still waiting for reply on how I can try to recover the data on my card, before formatting and hard-resetting....
Albeit somewhat off-topic, any help would be highly appreciated!!
cheers, Jentse
Thank you for your respond.
Like I said I will stick to HD2O as there are no visible advantages in changing to XBmod.. The only thing I am hearing is "XBmod is the best" but no one can tell what XBmod is better then HD2O at. I would like to hear an opinion from someone who tried both ROMs.
The other reason I'll stay at HD2O is that i heard that battery last longer than in XBmod.
ANSWER is here

Hey guys, at the moment i am installing HydrogenICSv1.4 Custom rom on my galaxy s2.
So far it seems to be stable and working well, however i have noticed a Google Play crash. Only one but its still a crash!
My only issue with it, is that my WiFi seems to have a weaker signal than on my stock xwkk2 kernel GB 2.3.6, but im not sure if it is coincidence or it is actually an issue.
I think the new UI is really nice, and it works at a decent pace. I especially like the dialler, and am very happy about colours and textures and the like.
I am still just a noob, and i was going to post elsewhere but i was prevented because of this 10 thanks or whatever business, but i hope you guys and gals have a look at the ROM.
So i hope this gave you a shallow insight into the workings of the new ROM, and thanks for reading!
Cheers,
Tangent5
Ps, i would show you where i downloaded the ROM, but the forums wont let me but i did find it through "androidauthority"
A good ROM, well supported by a talented young dev.
I've been trying various AOKP/CM9 and MIUI ROMs lately, and Hydrogenics is im my top 2.
I'm still staying with GB for now. I like FM radio, and I need a working videocam - wife insists for filming of youngest. And, er, other situations.
Much work is being done, but it seems FM radio will never be ported, and videocam support is proving difficult. Some helpful posts on the CM9 thread along the lines of if-you-need-video-buy-a-camcorder miss the point spectacularly.
MIUI looks great, but doesn't support 4G and video playback is average at best for many codecs (no HW encoding for my mkv files with MX Video Player for me, anyway).
Referring to your first post - since you've only just rooted, I'd recommend a GB ROM for now. Check out CheckROM - it's very customisable, you can pick and choose kernels/apps/themes/tweaks.

Please refer to that thread about how to reach 10 posts.
For now, let's keep all discussion of this particular ROM in it's own thread.
