im pretty new in this i uploaded the android, and energy rom, in the phone. after 10 mins of non use the screen goes blank and will not come back on unless you remove the battery. when the screen goes blank you can press the command buttons at the bottom and the backlight comes on but no visual image on the screen. has anyone encountered this issue and if so is there a fix for this. please help im willing to donate to fix for the issue.
I have a HD2 with froyo on it as well. The darkstone build. It has this issue some times, but it doesnt completely crash. If I turn the screen off, wait 5 seconds and turn the screen on, it comes up.
It actually does it quite regularly.
Did you turn off automatic backlights on WM settings before booting android, also make sure the keypad lights are on when u run haret.... that will probably solve the problem .

I have developed a small lockscreen problem. I can't get the lock screen to come up anymore. When i go into standby through time out of pressing power the screen just goes black and doesn't kick into the lockscreen anymore.
I'm sure its a software error and a re-image would fix it but i'd like to fix this without having to do this.
I'm using mdj gingerbread cyanogenmod 7 v2.3 NAND. The rom itself works perfectly and i've had no problems until now.
I have noticed that the fade out screen that is on this rom doesn't happen any longer. When i press power the screen just goes black. then i press it again no matter the wait the screen just comes straight back on where i left it
Checked through cyanogenmod settings and the lockscreen is set to instant after standby and time out but still nothing.
help i've been calling and e-mailing the world from my pocket!
I don't know what your problem is but I am willing to bet that the issue has been caused by an app that you have downloaded and is now conflicting with the lockscreen. Have you downloaded and lockscreen replacements (eg Widget Locker), or maybe a screen off app (eg Screen Off)?
Either way, perform a restore and you'll be fine.
You did backup your system didn't you?!
Its not from a lock screen app but from a general app just not sure which one. Removed my last few installed apps but its no different. Everything is backed up I'd just rather try and fix the problem and wait to reimage when 2.3 with sense comes out. There has to be a way

I have the same problem. it happend the first time yesterday on Typhoon CM7 2.2 build. so I figured that it must have been an error in that build, so I updated to Typhoon CM7 2.3.3 today, and it was fine until for 10 minutes ago, but now it's back, I tried calling my phone from another phone, but nothing came up other than the backlight, there's still sound and vibration, but no display picture. :S
Lol Ive fixed this now there is an option in battery indicator pro that disables the lock screen. I accidently disabled the lock screen

i was just about to post it could be that app, i did it on mine last week
Hi this is my first post on the forum.I"ve searched for similar issues, but I didn"t find anything.I bought a HD2 last month and installed various android ROM"s,everything fine since last week. Now my HD2 have this issue:
-I make a phone call and after 2 seconds the screen goes black and freeze. If I want to activate the loud speaker I can"t because screen is black and not responding.I can have the conversation,I can close the conversation from power button, but screen remains black and non responsive. When I close a conversation the phone remains nonresponsive for 5-10 minutes, and after that everything goes to normal.
-I have this issue since last week, until then every android rom that I"ve installed worked just fine.
Now I have on phone HD2_Core_Droid_Desire_HD_V1.5_Release_Version
and I"m having this problem with every Rom that I"ve installed since last week
I start thinking that it"s a harware problem,I don"t know...
Is anybody else who experience this problem?
Thank you very much, and excuse my poor english.I"m a Romanian living in Spain
Nobody have this problem or a fix?I"ve tryed everything with different radios and ROMs...
strange. i don't have that problem.
I"ve just installed official vodafone WM 6.5 ROM for spain and I have "almost" the same issue:
-during call screen goes black and no way to open it.
-the difference is that when I hang up screen goes on instantly and no freeze.
What is that,hardware malfunction?
sounds like a hardware issue
I hope not...
I"ve noticed that if I enable the loud speaker in the first 2 seconds(before screen goes black),the phone is not freezing, and no black screen, everything just work fine as it should.
I"m out of ideas...
Edit:I am now on [CWR-CLEAN] BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA GINGER HoneyComB V11 (30.Mar).
I see some people on this forum that have the same problem too.Nobody have a solution still?
Try an app from the Android market called 'Call Light'. It's supposed to keep your screen lit up at all times during calls, but what it has done for me is that when in a call, the screen still goes black when the phone is to my ear, but as soon as I take the phone away from my head, the screen lights up again instantly.
I had almost the same probkem as you do before using this app, except that as soon as the call was over, everything was back to normal (didn't stay black for the 5-10 mins after calls) now all is ok for me.
It might not work for you, but it's definitely worth a shot.

Yeah,I"ve already do that but not works for me.Sometimes (few times),phone app run just fine but many times I got that annoyng black screen. To get back to normal I have to do a reboot or to make a call from another phone to my hd2,then screen comes back.I don"t have this issue with incoming calls, only with outgoing calls(when I call somebody). When I make a call I have to activate loud speaker in the first 2 seconds to evitate black screen issue,in that way screen stays on during call and after I hang up I have no freeze problem.
I have "call light" installed, unchecked proximyty sensor in menu and checkedd the option that makes the screen stay on longer during conversation.
I am on BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA DESIRE HD GLass A2SD V12 (23.Apr)
kernel GL_V11
Radio 2.15.50.14
I am flashing the ROMs with CWR zip method always with ROM proper recovery.
HELP...... Stilll cannot use my HD2
BUMP........
Is this problem got solved yet?
Note that if you plug your cable to pc the phone will unfreez and will be laggy for secounds, did you try to change your SD card?
Solution
Everything difficult-is easier)
Just clean dust on the sreen, where sensor is situated.
ANd choose a ROM with Tytungs kernel 12.4v3 (with solved libsound issue) or a SENSE based ROM
When I hit the power button to shut the screen off, it flashes brightly before it goes off.
Wondering if this is a Nook Color thing in general, or just a CM7 thing. Is this related to the fact that the screen animation doesn't work on CM7 when using the current kernel? I heard that Dalingrin had the screen animation working in the early test kernel and wondered if this got rid of the screen flash as well.
FWIW, mine flashes also. I haven't researched the cause, though.
CM7.0.2 from SD, when I tap the power button, it fades over about half a second. No flash, although occasionally there's a flicker in the middle of the fade. Power on happens much quicker, but there is a bit of fade-in.
I did enable on and off animations, even though I didn't think they were supposed to work yet.
this is a CM7 thing. its a power off and on animation. if you dont like it you can turn it off in settings. personally i like it. it reminds me of the old CRT screens.

More specifically it's a 2.3 thing - but I think the problem is that it doesn't work the same as on other standard resolution screens so it just ends up 'flashing' rather than doing a fancy animation. Your solution is correct though.
Interesting. The on/off animations are off by default in the Encore build. I enabled them in the settings and still had the flash (as one would expect). However, once I disabled them again everything was fine. I wonder if this is another persistence bug, similar to airplane mode?
My screen flashes whether the screen animations are on or off, though to be fair it doesn't flash every time, definitely more often than not though.
Mine is more of a quick blink rather than an obvious flash. And it isn't consistent.
My screen flashes as well. It just started doing this yesterday and I've been running cm7 off my sd card for about a week with no other problems. Worse, sometimes the screen turns green and stays that way until I hit the N button. Any idea what this means and possibly how to fix it? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Which version of CM7 are you running? I haven't seen the flash or the green screen since I switched from 7.0.2 to nightly 86. Maybe it's coincidence, but it looks like the flash issue has been fixed.
(The power button does sometimes turn off the screen briefly then turn it right back on again -- hitting the power button a second time always turns it off.)

It's the CM7.0.3 stable version. Maybe I should do an update. I wasn't sure if that was the problem since it had just started doing this. Are you saying you've seen the green screen? Just curious because I can't find anything about it anywhere. Thank you for your response. I'm going to try out the nightly and see if that fixes the problem.
Mine does more of a quick flicker,i think its the screen off/on animation issue on the nook because the animation works fine on my droid incredible cm7

Actually, that's what mine does too. Sometimes there's a flash, but most of the time it's a quick flicker. If it's just the animation then I probably don't need to worry about it. It's just the green screen that worried me...though that only occurred when I kept messing with it. I haven't messed with it the past couple of days so I haven't seen the green screen. Maybe I was causing some kind of error.

Yup, I've seen the green screen. I don't remember what build I was on at the time because I looked at a bunch over a couple of days. It could have been 7.0.3.
Or maybe I messed up something on my nook, and flashing another build corrected it? Either way, I haven't seen it in a few weeks.

That's good that you haven't seen it in a while. And not that I want anyone else to suffer, but I'm glad I wasn't the only one. LOL. Hopefully that means I'll have an easy fix. I haven't seen it in a few days myself, so I'm just going to wait and see what happens. Most likely I'll update to a nightly. Thanks for the responses. Now I'm not worried about it anymore.
Hi there.
First of all i'm from Denmark, so sorry for my english.
I have a Oppo find 5 with CM 11 ( Cyanogenmod )
The other day when i took it out of my pocket to check on it, the screen dosen't turn on when i unlock it with the power button.
The onscreen button's starts to light, but the screen keeps black for 5-10 minutes, then it randomly turns on by it self..
I have made a hard reset, tried a different ROM but nothing seems to help.
Is there any of you in here that can help me, or knows what the problem could be ?
Have you tried stock rom? It could also be hardware failure.
Hi,
It's an known bug in cm11, but maybe it's fixed in latest nightlies. Better read on the oppoforums since there is more activity about this.

I had this bug also just keep cm11 up to date! and if it happen push the powerbutton untill you see the oppo logo on your screen
