Sounds promising, but I'm not going to hold my breath for anything until the actual announcement. My EVO isn't even 6 months old yet, but if they come out with something that blows my mind, I'll probably pay retail for a new handset.

Lets go sprint. I've been with sprint since they came into the cell phone world and their service was the worst. Now I am quite glad that I stuck with them for all these years.

Notice that Sprint.com/Nexus redirects to the home page, where if you type something else instead of Nexus it gives you a 404....

Now if only sprint didn't kill my ability to upgrade my damn phone! Guess if it's that amazing I will have to buy it off ebay

I'm in the same boat...I have had an upgrade since December with nothing to upgrade to...now they are going to release phones and I'm going to have to wait

Nexus s is overrated. Samsung phones are crap I don't care what name they give it. Evo 3d sounds promising.

Yeah, I'm more interested in the Evo, but 3D doesn't do anything for me. Waiting to see what the other improvements are.

hopefully it will run a tegra2 since the only 3d tablet out right now does

I figured since there isn't a topic on this handset yet that I'd go ahead and start one. Android spin is reporting the phone will release on sprint by the end of July. Does anyone have any information on what will be different about the handset other than the radio. I don't see why sprint would give it a different moniker if its the same as the international version.

Whosdaman got an email from his source saying that it would be coming at that date. From what I see WiThin=WiMax+Thin. So, they're marketing two features of the phone(4G and size) with one name. So, that's my guess t the name change.

Nice. It'll have ben out 2-3 months before my upgrade is due, so I doubt I'll get it to turn around and a new phone come out.

it'd probably be cheaper to buy a brand new one from craigslist or ebay than to use your 75 discount and lose atleast a year of your contract agreement

I just upgraded to the epic a month ago lol, looks like I'll have to put a few bucks to the side till its offically released

I have been sitting on my upgrade since february, preordered the evo 3d, then heard about this phone a few weeks ago. If you look at the specs, this thing blows the evo 3d out of the water. Internal memory is huge and the bench marks are insane. So, it looks like I will be sticking with samsung.

Happy I got my epic brand new in box from a friend for 3bills. I refuse to lock a contract.

Best way to do it. Ill probably sell my epic on Craigslist and but the within on Craigslist or eBay. I hate signing contracts

been sitting on my upgrade since february as well, specifically for the sgs2. i had the moment, intercept, transform, and the epic so i might as well keep her goin samsung style.

So I got my Epic in December. I stupidly locked into a 2 yr contact. I definitely want this phone tho. Even if it means breaking my contract and starting a new one. What's the smartest route to take?

[DEVS] Who's Planning on Developing for the Epic Touch 4G

Since it's less than a week until release and we still don't have a separate section for the upcoming SGS2 Epic Touch 4G I figured it would be nice to know which developers are planning on buying/ developing for it. Hopefully this will give users a better idea of what it will be like over there before buying ...

I am not really a developer but I plan on going to the touch. I chose the Epic because of the keyboard and I have never used it. And it isn't because of the keyboard lag. It is because I loved swype. And I have wished it didn't have one since I got it. So I am looking forward to the new phone. Plus I actually like touchwiz and am really looking forward to native touchwiz4. And besides the obvious improvements to hardware, I love Odin and how simple it is to flash whatever we want.

Does anybody know when they usually add a section for a new phone? I was active in the Asus Transformer forum on XDA weeks before release. I guess I'm just surprised they haven't built one yet.

It is weird they haven't been added yet.

I plan on swapping into the ET4G from the photon on Friday. I love the Photon but am more comfortable on the Samsung hardware. So count me in

So, you're willing to wait until the winter to upgrade? That's why I'm not waiting on the Nexus, too many differing specs, and who knows if sprint will get it honestly. It'd be logical to put it on sprint, but not every buisness decision is logical.

Ouch! Well, I am keeping mine anyway. I still won't come close to my landline minute limit even splitting the minutes between two phones. Now, if your review of the ET4G is not a good one, I may still back out...but everything I have seen to this point has been positive

Farewell epic

Just wanted to say goodbye to the epic 4g. I recently traded my epic for a nexus s 4g, and I couldn't be happier. I wanted to say thanks to all the great devs that made the epic what it should have been out of the box. My decision was confirmed for me when my wife's LG Optimus s got an ota gingerbread update the other day! Before the epic! Crazy! For me its all nexus phones from now on. There will be some features that I miss from touchwiz, but for the performance and update trade off, I'd gladly go vanilla android. Thanks again for everyone who made the epic an awesome phone!

(I really do hope someone gets the connection and I don't look like a lame ass haha)

I just sent an email to Samsung through opensource.samsung.com asking them to release the Gengerbread update and/or the source code for our phone, hopefully they will reply to me in 24 hours as they claim and not just ignore it :/

Pretty ****ty that my niece just got a new Android through METRO PCS (probably the worst provider in the U.S.), and she has Gingerbread. Glad I paid all of this money for something treated like a red headed step-phone.
Disgusted with Samsung beyond belief. What is taking so long to release this? It looks like they are working on it, but I don't understand what is taking so long. Not that I am available for an upgrade right now, but even if I were, there is nothing out there that I really want right now (QWERTY is something I really want).

That's what I did. I traded my epic straight up for a nexus. The Guy wanted a keyboard...I wanted an unlocked phone. Worked good all around. There's quite a few of us former epic users in the nexus forums. I got to say, its all its cracked up to be!

Still using my Epic as my main phone, but I used my sister's upgrade to get the Nexus. Just as a nerd toy. Got it for 30 dollars. It was so worth it oh my god, MIUI is amazing on that curved screen. It hasn't been thirty days yet and I was gonna trade it back for the Epic 4G Touch but the Best Buy website says there isn't any in stock in my area so I guess I'm stuck with my Nexus

30 dollars?! Damn, and that was a hell of a deal! I really would like to get my hands on one of those so I can get a true Miui and CM7 experience. I am too new to the Android scene. I have yet to have a phone with either of those ROMs but I assure I will get a chance on my ET4G

i just took anything newer than the epic for resale value. im upgrading soon my self. the evo3d will bring more after im done with it than the o.g. epic.

yes, but the thing is, my epic was dead either way, and i need another phone. why pay a 100 dollar deductible on a 2 year old epic valued at around 70 dollars, when i can pay the same deductible and get the not even 1 year old evo 3d, witch if i decided to sell it today, would bring me 200 dollars or better.
the deductible was going to be paid either way.

Austin make sure to stop in here and post when you see those great specials. My 32GB card just came today.
