Omnia Pro battery problem - Omnia II General

Hello all, I would submit my problem to the community hoping to get useful information in that this completely undermines the use of this phone ...
The level of charge is shown to me is different from the actual charge left ... It takes a lot for you to come down around about 70% despite put "stress" and then usually the phone turn off .. after a few seconds of charging still shows me a nice load of about 80% .. in fact, completely wrong values
someone can give me a hand? this problem has made this phone unusable ...
Thank you in advance

problem solved guys ! you have to restore the battery chip following these steps:
-use totally you battery
-remove the battery from your device for about a minute
-put the battery into the device and charge it without powering it on
-when the charging process is complete, remove the battery from the device for about a minute
-insert the battery into the device and start normally
hope can be usefull for the future, enjoy !

Battery does not charge properly when D2 is off

Hi,
I noticed the following problem on my Diamond 2:
If I turn off the phone for night charge it never shows green in the morning.
The only way to see that amazing green light is to charge the phone whent it is turned on.
Of course I applied the latest hotfix - no use for the off mode charging. And of course I wrote to htc - will not waste your time repeating their suggestions.
And I am not happy with my phone battery life - it hardly endures one working day - lets say - 10 hours...
ROM - Official, yet.

I never turn my phone off so the green light problem never arises. However I will check and see if occurs.
As for battery life, you will need to give it a few weeks of use before you see maximum battery life.
Make sure you don't continually discharge the battery (better still keep it charging whenever you can) and you should see improvement over time.
Unlocking and replaceing the ROM can also have a significant effect on battery performance as does the Radio version in use. That's going to need some work on your part but the improvements are there to be had.
Some apps that are in common use are also power hungry and can cause a significant drain on power.
And if you install your apps to mem card then again that uses more power than installs to phone storage memory.
You can also turn off any unused background apps and processes.
Only turn on Bluetooth and WiFi when needed.
All these things help.
Personally I carry a spare standard battery with me at all times and strangely since I bought it I haven't needed to us it. The placebo battery effect?
Thanks for the answer.
About the battery usage conseption:
You suggest that I plug my phone each time when possible?
I thought that as the battery has XX recharges according to the specifications it is not good to charge each time whenever you got AC or USB access
I started to follow your recommendation anyway.
For example however - my laptop is never (when possible) with battery in it. I use the battery only when necessary, becasue in the user manual is written that has 300 cycles of recharging. And I always wait until completely discharged before charging. That is how I began treating the Dimond, too.

With Lithium Ion batteries the "quoted" numbers of "rechage" is is an approximate equivalent to give some idea of life expectacy.
It's a hangover from the old NiCad battery days and is not really very helpful when applied to Lithium Ion usage.
The most important aspect of LIon is it's ability to hold it's voltge at max current for longer than other technology. It does this best when well charged and maintained at near max as possible as often as possible. The downside is it's life expectancy which does deteriorate over time.
If you require max daily useage then max charging whenever possible will give you this and you will have to accept that the battery will at some point loose it's charge retaining capabilities and will have to be replaced.
For most of us that's the most important thing.
This is not a battery issue, I believe that this is a software one.
I noticed this morning, having left my phone on charge, and 'off', all night, that the indicator light was still red. When I switched on the phone, it showed only 80% charged.
Having seen this before, I carried out a soft reset, the battery indicator then showed fully charged.
So the battery is charging fully, but the battery charge indicator is showing less than that.

[Q] Battery or charging circuit problem

The scenario is this. I charge it every night. The orange light does work and it will show 100% in the morning. It will then shut down at random times and when restarted say the battery is low. I can plug it in again and reset it and it will show from 0 to 100%. Once I take it off the charger it may run all day and deplete the battery or it may die suddenly and tell me it's got a low battery again.
Should I consider the phone dead or does it sound like a faulty battery. It is the original battery and is 2 years old.
Marksm,
I think could be caused by:
1st: some hidden app wich consume a lot of energy that is placed on your phone or
2nd: a phone virus made to produce that behavior or
3rd:a battery control software issue.
For that, I'd advise you to:
1st: verify the programs and process that are running on your phone, seacrh for unknow ones and see on the internet what they do so you can remove the unwanted ones;
2nd: install one or more of the mobile antiviruses (one at each time) that are avaliabe on the internet and perform a full verification of your PDA;
3st: put a new ROM on the Blackstone; but first read how to do it well, if you don't know how, and be sure to be aware about all issues and risks that this action may bring.
Wishing you a good luck!
Stay in peace!

I have exactly the same problem. I restored the original ROM and SPL and nothing has changed.have you tried another battery? Is like the battery controller is broke. The phone is under warranty but the battery is not covered, so I would know if send it to HTC or to buy a new battery!
Similar issues reported in a post above. A new battery seems to have fixed it but needs more time to tell. I will probably order a new battery too.

me 2 going through the same problem.....really wanna get out ov it..

[Q] battery immediately drops down after.....

i've read about similar topics, but i think i did not found answers...
i've been aware that x2's battery drains fast. i had lots of bad experience with this problem so i decided to buy a new spare battery. to describe my problem, here is the scenario.
1. i fully charge my new battery
2. i remove my new battery to charge my old battery
3. after my old battery is full, i remove it to use my new battery (which was fully charged 4 hours ago)
4. after turning on the phone, it reports (immediately) BATTERY IS LOW.
5. i scratch my head why, replace it with the old battery instead, turn it on, and reports LOW BATTERY also.
i think this is a phone problem and not a battery problem. what do you think? why do i also encounter same problem with my brand new battery?
please help. thank you...
this is a new problem i encountered after reformatting my phone...
did u try flash to another firmware?
I had similiar problem as u when was using firmware Genenic_sg, flashed to Generic_en then its gone
by trial and error...
by trial and error, i found the solution... (once my main battery runs out of life, i do this steps...)
i let my spare battery stay on the phone for about 10 seconds before turning it on... (something like at least, the phone will recognize the life of the newly inserted battery)...
there are occasional times however, when the battery meter will still say low battery life even if i already had the battery stay before turning it on... so what i do is just turn it off again, remove the battery for few seconds, reinsert it immediatelt, and turn my phone again... and voila! it's finally recognized as 100%.

Blackstone Battery Problem %%%

Hello guys i havae some problem with my Blackstone i use it from 2.5 years and i never had problem like this so..
Now when i recharging my device always stay on same % for example even for 1 hour its show always 20% or 50% or anything depends when i put it on the charger..
After restart can show 100% full or anything.. so i found out that the indicator absolutly do not work so if i restart it and show me the real % for example 50% the device always will show 50% battery untill the battery is fully discharged..
And right now i dont know how much Batterry i have and when will need to recharge..
I don`t know but i think this is a battery problem? i use this battery from the begining i mean from more than 2.5 years and maybe is time to change it?! but this heppand when i drop my device once on the floor so do thee is posible by droping the device some senzor to be broken or this is not posible i mean its a battery problem and i will need to buy new one?! or give me some idea how to test this and fix it.
Now no matter that the indicator do not work i still can use my device 1-2 days with one charge even if always show 20% this mean that in the battery itself have power for 2 days conversation internet and etc.. but just do not shown right.
Do anyone of you had the same problem ? and how do you fix it?
Also im looking to buy battery from ebay and i found today this :
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HTC-TOUCH-HD-...ultDomain_3&hash=item4aa9446824#ht_3230wt_905
What you think about this battery ? or can someone who already bought battery from ebay point me to get some good one
I read in the Diamond forum that peoples expirience the same problem with the indicator and even after Hard Reset or flashing new ROM the problem is still there.. so if this is right then i dont have reason to Flash again my device if the problem will be still here.
Any Suggestions?
Thanks
I did some tests... so i fully discharge the battery and i saw that even when the battery was on 0% and always the Warning appear i was able to play with the the Device with Wi Fi ON and Games and Music around 45 minutes wow.. this mean that the battery somehow was not calibratet and when its shows 0% in her still have around 30 40 % so after fully discharge the battery till the device Turn OFF by itself then few times turn it ON till there is not enought power even the WinMo to Startup i put it while OFF on the Charger and i was able to recharg to 100% and the light become green this mean the senzor itself work maybe just the battery need calibration again.
Now will see do the indicator work corectly after few more recharges and will write here for peoples who have the same problems in the future
...
hi dude, i think you should simply buy a new battery, but preferably an official htc battery - rather than the unofficial gold one you have posted a link to on ebay.
if you do decide to buy a new battery then put the new battery into your blackstone and charge while device is turned off.
this should fix your problem

Actually i think its not Battery die problem because i did some test and i see improvment my battery last at least 2-3 days with alot of usage wifi and etc so this is more than normal.. the problem was that the indicator do not work corectly and like i wrote above i discharge fully the battery till the device die and i saw that when my battery was on 0% i still play alot alot my device to swtich off this mean that befor when the indicator shows 0% its remain anorhter 30 40% power this heppand due to 2.5 years usage and i recharge the device when i have time not always when is fully without power and i think that this cause somehow a discalibration of the Li Ion so today when i did the trick i see improvments and now the indicator start to count ever single % so i think when i do this one or two more times the Battery will be calibratet and will show very corect how much Power i still have.
I think this way because if this battery was already died the device will not last 2-3 days with super usage.

Battery inaccurate after boot

Hi all
since a week or so i have a strange problem with my sgs and i hope you can help me to fix it
Everything works just fine (battery is accurate) until i switch off / reboot the phone
but at next boot the battery reports a very low value
(e.g. the phone has 55% battery left and after the reboot it reports only 8%)
with Froyo 2.2.1 (Speedmod Kernel) it would stay at that level until the battery has really drained to that point
With GB (JVQ - Galaxian Kernel) the battery percentage increases slowly
What i tried so far:
first of all, i deleted the battery stats for a few times and because that didn't work i upgraded to JVQ (with repartitioning and all), but that didn't solve the problem either
i don't really know what to do anymore and i hope someone can help me
thanks
Just do a few drain/ charge cycles and that should sort it
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
First off, wiping batterystats.bin alone won't help.
Try this:
1. Charge to 100% until it says unplug charger.
2. Wipe batterystats.bin from recovery, unplug and then reboot
3. Drain your phone's battery until it shuts itself down
4. Charge to 100% without interrupting the charge
5. Enjoy :3
thanks for the quick replay!
unfortunately thats basically what i have already done
since the problem happened the first time, i have charged the phone at least 5 times and wiped the battery stats for 2 or 3 times right after charging the phone to 100%
its true that normally i don't drain the battery completely, but yesterday i have done just that and than let the phone charge overnight - but that didn't solve the problem
i will try to fully discharge the phone a few more times and load the battery while the phone is switched off
still i hope someone has an other suggestion how to solve this annoying problem
thanks
lol - stop deleting the batterystats.bin for starters.
The batterystats needs to indentify the top and bottom markers such as 0% - 100%, delete it ONCE.
Firstly, turn the phone off, charge the phone to 100%, bump charge it, till 100% truely.
This means, unplug...then plug it in again until you keep getting 100% show up.
Boot up into recovery then delete the batterystats.bin.
Use it heavy, activate everything and drain it. Make sure it is compeltely drained, try turning the phone back on, take the battery out for about 2 mins, try turning it on again, if it doesnt turn on, you've drained it.
Plug your charger in, do not turn the phone on, let it charge to 100%, again, bump charge it until 100% truely full, turn the phone on and let it run its natural course this time.
Do not delete the batterystats.bin again, you will have to repeat the process, it will take a good 2/3 times of charge/discharge for the stats to settle.
Hopefully helps dude! Good luck
thanks pidz!
just to clarify: i have had my sgs for a half year now and i never wiped the battery stats until last week
But i haven't tried bump charging jet - i really don't like that process as it is bad for the battery but might be worth a try, thanks
it usually happens with non original batteries. did you changed a battery? or maybe you got a fake one with you phone?
