Try Cherry Rplayer in the market.
That is a streaming app. is there some hardware limitation to htc magic to use native fm radio apps? streaming has a elevated cost .
Sorry for my bad english.

Yes, I have. But I am looking for FM Radio, and not internet radio. Slacker and nanogroove are internet dependent applications.

Your questions is not being understood, you asked for an alternative to the FM Tuner on the HD2 which would only be your current music and slacker app. What other radio would you like? If you are asking for a FM radio and you do not know that the HD2 has a FM radio built in you need to do some research and reword your question.

Yessir. His best bet would be to just load all his music and use the music player. I don't this there is an fm radio app out there.
I think the OP request was pretty clear, they are looking for a different FM Radio app than the stock one.
BTW, I haven't seen one anywhere but that doesn't mean there isn't one. You might have more luck asking in the Regular HD2 Themes and Apps forum.

His question is worded correctly and the question is valid. It's you who have problems understanding.
So let me re-phrase it for you.
Different frontend application for the build in, hardware FM radio.
Know any? If not, don't bother to answer. Nobody needs your attitude.

Can anybody confirm this assumtion. I'd love to have a working FM Radio, I don't have a data flat so it would be great to be able to listen to radio while outside …

Hey people i don´t find any question about this i know that is only a litle thing but i love it to listen football games in radio do u think that one day is possible to gaver radio over fm?
no possible.
In build.prop
There is some broadcom chip evidence.
Like this
Wifi chip is bcm=false
Maybe there is broadcomchip inside and huawei have disabled it
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
is there some developer who knows how to do it?
Nah, no chip inside there. The bcm chip is in the U8800Pro
It seems that has a tavarua fm chip, which is disabled(maybe huwuei didn't manage to make it work). This info comes from the developer of spirit fm radio after I provided to him some log infos. He didn't want to spend time to add support for this though because he haven't a clue that this chip acctually works.
can anyone send 1 email asking this thing to huawei?

One redactor of the mobile magazine wrote: in the official rom isn't fm radio soft, but when I installed the soft from market, then the fm radio was working.
So, I think the fm radio is possible to work.
Probably he means an internet radio app. There isn't any app for fm radio except spirit fm AFAIK and that doesn't support ideos X5

I worked in huawei mobile in syria
And fm radio is in u8800 pro only ...............
Ok.If it has Tavarua chip inside how can we send commands and see if it responds.Maybe I ll try but i have no clue (yet).
u8800,cm7,[email protected]
Maybe you need to speak with the developer of spirit fm(it has a topic on android apps and games session). He did some research about it and maybe he can give you some directions.
I can't do it myself as i have no dev experience .If we have a chip inside why do we have it if it's not working? It's a waste of money. Can someone check?

The hardware is definitely there. Check out step 10 of the tear down.

It's a shame we can't actually use it because my gym uses FM for audio on the TVs. Does the driver just not support it? I don't get it...

I love the 'Tune in Radio Pro' App, options to record, search by region, very powerful.
the atrix has an fm transmitter in it. not an fm tuner apparently which really makes no sense. but i think it'd be great to use it as a prank and make it so it bradcast on all channels and use sound grenade >: )

Could be cost or parents fees they (moto) does not want to pay for. Plus they would have to design and engineer for the interference caused by the fm part. Sum it up they are cheap.
I looked at the specs for OnePlus 2 and did not find FM Radio mentioned on their site.
Can anyone confirm?
I have also asked OnePlus but no response yet.
No. It doesn't have FM.

No FM Radio, from a one plus 2 owner.
However, it's also weird to choose phone just thinking about FM radio. 2016 is coming.
