My question is if Milestone 2 get cyanogen fw is it possible to FM radio get working?
If there is technical problems /in HW/ than i know i can forget about i anytime have an working fm radio.

Can anybody confirm this assumtion. I'd love to have a working FM Radio, I don't have a data flat so it would be great to be able to listen to radio while outside …

I confirm it! There's no FM Radio on Milestone 2's hardware.

Have you tried the slacker radio it is stock and is pretty cool. I have been using nanogroove mobile and that is also cool.

Yes, I have. But I am looking for FM Radio, and not internet radio. Slacker and nanogroove are internet dependent applications.

Your questions is not being understood, you asked for an alternative to the FM Tuner on the HD2 which would only be your current music and slacker app. What other radio would you like? If you are asking for a FM radio and you do not know that the HD2 has a FM radio built in you need to do some research and reword your question.

Yessir. His best bet would be to just load all his music and use the music player. I don't this there is an fm radio app out there.
I think the OP request was pretty clear, they are looking for a different FM Radio app than the stock one.
BTW, I haven't seen one anywhere but that doesn't mean there isn't one. You might have more luck asking in the Regular HD2 Themes and Apps forum.

His question is worded correctly and the question is valid. It's you who have problems understanding.
So let me re-phrase it for you.
Different frontend application for the build in, hardware FM radio.
Know any? If not, don't bother to answer. Nobody needs your attitude.

P.S. to the OP, I have looked for one, found a couple but the HD2 is not supported as of yet , hope you have better luck than me ...

Thank all for the help. I will continue my search for this FM radio alternative, since the build in radio is not very good . If I happened to find one, I will definitely report back to you guys.

how about thestreamcenter.com? every radio station in the US is in there,i use pocket tunes to stream the stations.

The HD2 has an actual FM radio in it, we are looking for a better app than the stock one, not a streaming app , but thanks anyway ...

Tytung and Tyween's Roms both have FM Radios included and work fine.

Nah, no chip inside there. The bcm chip is in the U8800Pro
It seems that has a tavarua fm chip, which is disabled(maybe huwuei didn't manage to make it work). This info comes from the developer of spirit fm radio after I provided to him some log infos. He didn't want to spend time to add support for this though because he haven't a clue that this chip acctually works.

So, I think the fm radio is possible to work.
Probably he means an internet radio app. There isn't any app for fm radio except spirit fm AFAIK and that doesn't support ideos X5

lol I can confirm that internet radio stream works fine!
I m sure if a fm chip is in there then devs like stockwell will find it.

I worked in huawei mobile in syria
And fm radio is in u8800 pro only ...............

Maybe you need to speak with the developer of spirit fm(it has a topic on android apps and games session). He did some research about it and maybe he can give you some directions.
I can't do it myself as i have no dev experience .If we have a chip inside why do we have it if it's not working? It's a waste of money.Can someone check?

I would hate going back to android 2.3 just to get one feature and lose 50 others !!
So why doesn't FM radio work with 4.0 ,4.0.1, 4.2.2, Roms on the Mighty HTC HD2 :good:

Because most of the CM devs consider it un-interesting.
And Google kills any FM stuff in AOSP, and the chip specs are secret, so it takes a LOT of work.

A quick search would have turned up the answer as it's been asked/answered before.
This phone does not have the hardware for FM radio.
It has 4G hardware instead.

Thaks a lot. By the way this means other vairations of this phone has not FM Tuner too? like N9000, N900 etc.
This is so bad. My old i5500, s5660 and N7000 has fm radio But the newest one has not.

Generally 4G phones don't have the hardware as the FM hardware has been replaced by the 4G hardware.
