2 days? I'm lucky if I can get 12 hours out of one charge with lite use.

Two days with normal use is very good battery-life for a modern smart-phone, what were you expecting? Is it that hard to plug it in every day? I usually get far less battery-life than that.
I never get why people complain about their battery lasting longer than they are awake. Unless you don't sleep at home some nights then I don't see the problem.
the official taskkiller shows the active task running, maybe at 0%, but still on the foreground.

First, you need spare parts. Go to Battery History and check the % of running time. If its near 100%, your phone isn't sleeping. Next is to find what is causing this issue.
Go to homescreen, hit menu, hit settings. About phone, Battery Use. See what is using the most battery.
Next, go to settings, Applications, running services. See what services are running. If your phone isn't sleeping, its probably one of these services causing it. For me, Coreplayerservice, which is the music player service caused the phone not to sleep.
Spare parts is showing 68% and that's probably because ie been using th phone a lot this morning
Tapatalkin' it from my Epic 4g
You should check the CPU usage next on spare parts...that should show you the apps taking cpu time

ill check that now
68% is very high unless you think that since you unplugged the phone you have literally been using it 2/3 of the time.
If you don't want the full blown Spare Parts app, but want the battery piece then you should download "BatteryHistory" from the market.

mines at 62% by android system
After doing a battery monitor file. Which I did using the in the samsung program monitor widget. by doing this monitoring will put 2 files on the root of your sd card. 1 battery file and another being a cpu file. After reviewing the cpu file you will see that the xda app has a ton of activity like 2-3 times every minute. Of course the app had not been opened for awhile and no apps were showing to be running. Well I uninstalled it and had less than 4% drain in 7 hours overnight.

What did you have set in the xda app under "notifications?"
Agree I begin to notice this app is a juice drainer over a few hours
Is there a reason to even have the app as opposed to going to the website using the browser?

I just installed syndicate yesterday and was on xda before I went to bed on the app. I went to bed at 80 percent and woke up at 76. So I'm not sure it had to do with the app.

I had the notifications turned off. I ran the test and that was showing a lot of activity. Maybe it needed to be re installed to clear up some issue. Possibly
The only reason xda drains for me is because I'm always on it

Go to summary tab then there is a button for start monitoring. You can't do this with all roms. I re installed and there is no activity. Problem solved......... no more drain..

back many years ago (3 to 4 years) on my Xperia mini pro, i had to have a apps that kill background apps to save memory for foreground apps. now thats a thing of the past, android versions now can manage memory better...well yes, but not power...apparently if you leave some apps running on background it still consumes power on my note2 until you kill it.
i have a game "4 pics 1 word" which i think doesnt know how to properly "exit" that i left on background, 6 hours later my 100% battery came down to 52% because of AudioOut_2 partial wakelocks according to BetterBattery. Ive recharged my phone and restarted it, 6 hours later my battery is still 82%. thats 30% different because of an app that dont know how to sleep (insomnia apps).
so yeah, be careful of some apps that you leave on background, some of them dont know how to sleep.

I'm using DeepSleep Battery Saver. Great app works perfectly on my phone for several weeks now. Greatly increased battery life since it kills any unwanted app when putting the device in sleep mode.
Sv: And I thought killing apps on android is a thing of the past.
Even the xda premium app doesn't sleep properly.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Just use LBE security manager or some other app that can stop apps from autostarting and those apps will not run in the background anymore.
Note that LBE security manager is very comprehensive and might help with privacy and ads as well as some other things. Also download the en version from xda instead of the poorly translated version from the market.

Even I sometimes don't sleep properly. Just kidding... I noticed it too; XDA Premium and other apps sometimes drain battery due to partial wakelocks :-/ I don't understand how this can still be such a huge issue on a mobile operating system.......

It isn't an issue with the operating system - the issue is with poorly written apps!
There is always going to be a certain class of app that does need to keep the phone from sleeping quite legitimately, and you don't want the OS killing these off. Apps like XDA Premium really have very little reason to consume many CPU cycles when not active, so the fact it keeps the phone awake is the fault of the app and not the OS, because it can't determine if the wakelocks are legitimate (former class of app), or just as a result of poor coding (latter class of app).
Regards,
Dave
Uninstall 4in1 it has some nasty spam. Like opening a link in Chrome may make an advert open and then open the play store to one of their other apps.
Uninstall it.

The AudioOut_2 wakelock has something to do with alarms and silent mode, something I've never managed to remedy completely on the note 2. If you play a game or watch a video in silent mode, the wakelock will sometimes appear.
On topic, by far the best method to calm down nasty apps, is the app greenify here on xda and play store. If you read the first post of that thread, many of the answers to why android apps behave like this are there.

Hello,
I would like to hear everyone opinion on task killer app. Do they really improve battery life. I set them so that they clear up my task everytime my screen off. Just wondering if that help or just gonna drain more battery every time I clean task.
I figure they would help because they will clean certain unused task.
But those apps will simply restart and be killed again, holding wakelocks and killing battery in the process. Processes never have to be killed unless Android deems it necessary, or on the occasion that an app is misbehaving.
Tasks don't use battery just by being in RAM.
Not opinion, but fact.

Thanks for clarifying it. So having a lot of task won't contribute to battery, it just consume RAM, which I always have plenty. I guess on won't invest on a task killer then.
Task killers are never needed on Android. Is a big myth from the early cupcake days

That is definitely a must, as apps will misbehave and such. But it's not really related to auto-killing tasks.

I know I'm a heavy phone user, but how are people saying they get 9+ hours of constant use, like watching videos, and I'm getting half that from texting, using Hangouts, and a couple social networking apps? My screen uses between 45-50% of that and the rest is apps, primarily the ones I use most.

My wifi always shows it's connected as a solid blue line, but I've been on LTE all day.
Might be a rogue app running in the background or something? I use the Active Apps widget and randomly end programs from time to time while clearing up the RAM as well. Hopefully it's just a rogue app or bad battery?

You're definitely not getting what you should. Look at my stats, a lot of wifi but also not as much held awake time on my phone considering what I have as Battery time. Take a look around there's things you can disable like bloatware that may be holding your phone from sleeping. Also see if you can reconfigure that one app, maybe it updates to often. I don't usually have any app drain more then kernel and the android system.
Or its your battery if you've done all that.

I was having that same problem when first got my phone. I'm pretty sure it was the new themer application it, worked fine until I uninstalled it, then my battery constantly needed to be charged. To originally fix it I backed up and factory reset it then it seemed to be working fine but now that I'm rooted I have been using greenify and it works like a dream. It tells you in better detail what's draining your battery and what wakes it up in your background as it tries to sleep. Now I get about 22 hours with pretty regular usage
With 56 minutes on screen time, I should get close to ten hours... you must have an app that is killing your battery or that uses data alot

I greenified a lot of the stupid apps like My Magazine or disabled them outright
