Hello
I have a HTC WILDFIRE My friend have the same Cell Phones

So I asked him to do BACKUP via nandroid
so he did (after he did wipi factory reset).
Files created in the folder after the backup (transferred from memory card to my computer):
boot ( image file)
cache ( image file)
data ( image file)
nandroid.md5
recovery ( image file)
system ( image file)
My question is if I copy the folder to my memory card
on my cell phone and make nandroid > restore it will install the rom without problems in my cell phone?

Bricked

I was trying to install oxygen rom and it was giving me error 7, i tried many things and after formatting everything (system, data, sd card) without backup, the phone wont turn on. it boots into clockwork recovery fine. connected it with the purple screen to a linux machine and there are folders in the memory but no files. Can't even find recovery.img. Tried installing stock Rom but after the progress bar goes about 10 percent it gives an error. Custom roms still give error 7. Please help.
I'd suggest to boot in recovery (or install it if you accidentally deleted it) and wipe everything in advance (Dalvik etc) and then try to install a rom (anyone that worked for you) or some stock one.
I did that! i formated system, data, dalvik cache etc. and didn't back up the the phone before. when installing from purple screen stock rom gives an error and in recovery custom rom gives error 7 (assert failed)
Relax, your phone is not bricked, it's actually nowhere near that.
In case you lost all the data in Bootloader (pink screen), format the partition with FAT32, create a folder called "image" and copy the following files on there.
EMMCBOOT - http://www.mediafire.com/?lb6ifvgk72iru4a
AMSS.MBN - http://www.mediafire.com/?d6r45q6p5gew59v
Recovery.img - http://www.mediafire.com/?57njygc8oianjac
Boot.img - http://www.mediafire.com/?6d5i0714a7o9z97
Once you've copied those files in there, boot into CWM and flash another custom ROM. Try Miui or CM7 this time.
If you don't have any Rom zips on the SD card, no problem. Just boot into CWM (Vol+ and Power), go into Mounts section and select mount USB/SD card. This should make the SD card available on the computer and then you can copy any other Rom zip on the root of the SD card.

Does he really need boot.img to boot recovery?
Nope, not really. But just in case, I still think it's a good idea to put that in there...

[Q] Nandroid 2.3: which files to maintain?

I have installed Nandroid 2.3 thru clockworkmod recovery 2 month ago.
1. How should i take a backup of this OS?
2. And the zip folder through which i had installed 2.3 should i delete that from my SD Card? Also there are many other files like zImage, Readme.txt, log.txt, initrd.gz...cam i delete these too?
3. Previous to running Nandroid 2.3 i was running 2.2 through SD Card. Can i delete that folder too?

1. You can back up via CWM > back up and restore > back up
2.The zip file is needed for the installation. You can delete it, but the other files - NO.
3.The folder of previos rom - if you don't need it ... delete it to. She was for other rom. Now your rom is running from NAND.

[Q] NAND backup restore after NativeSD installation

Hi everybody,
I have installed a NativeSD Rom and at the moment I have nothing on the NAND. I am trying to install the backup of my old NAND ROM on the NAND again, but when I choose the right backup file from MAGLDR Ad Recovery / install zip from sdcard / choose zip from sdcard, the system says: "CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.6 / No files found"!!!
I've checked the backup file and it has all the files (about 695MB)...
I have just tried to choose the NativeSD ROM file which I also have on the SDcard and the system accept it (of course I break the install process in this case)!
What I'm doing wrong? I'm just trying to restore the old ROM to NAND, so it should not interract with the NativeSD ROM...
Best regards,
Conrad

Hi to you,
I thought restoring backups had nothing to do with "install zip from sdcard"? Why are you going there?
*Re-reads your post again and tries to find another meaning to what you said*
Edit:
Hydroxyl, NOW I understand! You are doing it wrong
In order to restore a backup, the backup must be located in "/sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/" (That's for android 4.1.2 and earlier, don't know about 4.2). And you don't install it like any ROM.zip file. From the main menu of CWM, go to "Backup/Restore" .. then Restore .. then choose your backup. (provided it's in the aforementioned location).

[Q] Moiving rom backup to root SYSTEM folder

Hi.
As we all know our I-9505 have quite large space for system files (and bloatware).
After installing other roms (in my case PAC rom - Android 4.3.1) we have loads of space free there. With PAC i have 2.39GB
Because i have rom backup all the time on internal memory it's it takes about 1,7GB space.
And now the idea:
Create folder '000' in root system folder, move a backup there and any time you wish to recover just copy it back to clockworkmod folder.
Tried that with no sucess as esExplorer and TotalCommander can't mount root system folder as read/write.
Anyone knows is that possible ? That could save us some nice space.
----------please notice----------
I know that this way you can't recover backup before you copy it to clockworkmod mod but i always have copy of backup on PC for any bad situation and i can copy it back to phone thru clockworkmod recovery mouting USB or in download mode.

how to copy nand backup files to pc?

hi guys
i had nand backup with cwm. now i want to copy all backup data to my pc( as i always did for my SGS).
but i cant find the folder of backup...where can i find this backup files so i can keep it safe and release some space on my phone?
thanks
ClockworkMod stores its backup in a location you can't access from the computer. It saves the backups in /data/media/clockworkmod. You will need to copy them onto the sdcard before doing the transfer, or simply do an adb pull from that location.
F.Y.I. TWRP recovery saves your backups right on the sdcard.
there is an app in the playstore called cwm backup manager (not affiliated with cwm). it will copy it to the SD card. then just zip it on the device with Astro (or another program of your choosing) so you can copy it to your PC.
