Yep, same problem. I'm hoping there is a fix even if it requires rooting. Otherwise I'll have to go back to froyo. All sound levels including phone calls have a reduced volume.
They are app in market that make volume founder work on DROIDX 2.3.3 it is volume + I hope that's helps

The only difference in volume I've found is with BT headset (stereo). The new GB DX switches Media Volume to 5/15 when BT headset is connected, regardless of what it was set to prior. Very annoying.
There's a dsp manager in the apex 2.0 beta. You can change volume settings with that
All the sound booster software I've seen in the marketplace, none seem to have the ability to boost the voice cal volume.

Try the apex 2.0 beta. The dsp manager works well
Hi there. I was so use to using DSP manager on my Droid for my equalizer needs and it worked so great.. but that's on my phone. On my Xoom its a different story.. since DSP manager is not possible I have been using the app on the market just called "Equalizer" for the past few months now and its been working like a charm, except for the fact that it would randomly shut down sometimes. But I'm not using it at this moment because its getting major force closes on the new 3.1 update for Honeycomb. As of right now until that gets fixed I am using the equalizer app called "AudioFX Widget". It works very well, no problems on 3.1, but it will always randomly shut down to where you have to put all the settings back on again just like my previous equalizer app. Although it does not happen very often it still can be a pain to deal with sometimes.
Mind you I have had the same problem with every single equalizer app I have tried on my Xoom. How can I keep any equalizer app alive 24/7 so that the system will not shut it off? I'm not using any memory manager or task killer apps because they are not needed for Honeycomb.
I need to have my equalizer to enhance system and music volume. You should try it if you have not. Your whole Android sound system will be much louder and better.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem above?
Hi, I am having some GPS navigation issues and I just wanted to see if anyone could shed some light. I am running deck 1.0 with tiamat 3.3.7, which I just went back to from 1.2 hoping it would solve this, but no luck.
The issue is, I get a GPS lock with GPS status, then I use sprint telenav and it loses the lock. Google Nav locks on immediately. However, I use my phone to listen to music in the car all the time, and Google Nav has a problem on gingerbread from what I understand in which the music gets muted but the nav voice is silent. Without music playing the voice is fine. Telenav's voice works fine when music is playing, but for some reason telenav is treated as "media volume" so you cannot adjust the volume of the voice relative to the music you are listening to, they are the same volume control. Google nav allows the navigation volume to be adjusted. So, I'm kind of stuck- telenav does the voice fine, but no GPS lock, Google nav locks GPS perfectly but no voice. Any ideas on a fix or one of them? I don't care which I use, as long as one works! Thanks.
Try downloading GPS Status from the market and use it to delete the A data
open GPS Status menu-tools-manage A-GPS state-reset and then download the A-Data file
This fixed the lock issue with my google maps and nav after flashing Ultimate Driod 3.3.1 with the Tiamat 4.0.3 kernel
Thanks, I use GPS status constantly, and it showed a lock, but sprint nav was losing it. I just did the driver replacement and it seems to be working, going to test it on the way home. Does anyone know a fix for the Google navigation voice issue when music is playing? Sprint navigation's voice level cannot be adjusted, so if a song is quiet and I need to turn it up, then the nav voice is screaming. Google allows you to adjust "navigation volume," which is separate from the media (music) volume, but as I said, the voice doesn't work if music is playing, even though the music gets muted and the nav volume is up.

I just read something about that being a hardware problem with the Evo, I don't think there is a fix for it but you may Email kushdeck and ask him if it's something he may be able to fix in his rom.

Which issue is a result of a hardware fault?

It had something to do with not being able to get a gps fix while playing music on the Evo. I just read someone else's post and thought I'd mention it.

"If you're having gps problems I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems and getting a lock ain't one" lol
Try updating to the latest tiamat 4.0.4 and maybe cm7 #86 nightly GPS is promised to work! You could also nandroid to sense and do the "fix" and boot back to decks.

Im pretty sure that kushdeck's Evo Deck 1.2t is based of that CM7 nightly and brings the same fixes and changes but i could be wrong. He can get a gps fix but cannot play music and get turn by turn directions simultaneously.

Have you ever tried doing any of this on a sense based rom or on the stock sense? I'm not that knowledgeable on too much, I saw the problem you were having in the thread post and thought I would share what i had recenctly read on the Evo Deck post. You may want to share your problem on that thread. Maybe someone with more insight on such things will be able to help you.

I've done the sense fix before- the issue isn't not being able to get a lock, it is sprint nav not getting a lock, even after gps status shows the gps is locked on. I also have faster fix set to use the north america server.
google nav is locking, but the lack of voice directions while playing music is the issue. I understand it has something to do with the audio architecture of gingerbread and implementing lower latency audio, although I have no specifics on that as I don't know much about the way android handles audio. I do know that on froyo it was not an issue.
I just flashed deck 1.2t and tiamat 4.0.4 and it seems good so far, sprint nav got a lock without me using gps status, but I was sitting on my couch. I'll test it on the road. mapquest works pretty well too- it gets a lock (or seems to, there's no indicator) and the directions seem good, but if sprint will work then that's the one I really want to use.
Hopefully the tiamat 4.0.4+deck 1.2t will have solved the issue. Thanks for the responses.
That's interesting about not being able to get a lock while playing music. I don't usually have music on yet if I'm setting the GPS, but it may all be related. I'd love to see a way for sprint nav to have it's own volume adjustment separate from the media volume that also controls the volume of music. mapquest is the same though. I'm not really sure why google nav has a navigation volume and the others don't.

I used sense on froyo, first rooted stock sense then warm 2.2, and I didn't have any GPS lock issues or navigation issues. However, too many other things I like about gingerbread to go back to froyo...I used warm 2.2 to do the ##gpsclrx# fix, and the gps was working well, it is only recently it stated having these issues, since going to gingerbread. I'm sure things will continue to iron out, I have high hopes for the latest deck+tiamat combo. I'll report back tomorrow once I've had a chance to try it "in the field."
I know the sprint telenav supposedly has some weird issues with cm7( or aosp based roms). I wasn't even aware you could play music while using the sprint telenav.

I'm glad to know you've made some progress and hopefully that will be the end of your gps/navigation trouble. I intend to update to 1.2t also but im thinking about trying out the godmode v8 kernel.

I was using godmode kernel last week, but I really missed SBC. We'll see, my phone was thoroughly wiped this time. I'm having a few weird app restoring issues, we'll see what's up with that, titanium isn't playing nice today or something. The fun of aosp is in the fixing! I use linux too, so I guess I'm a glutton for punishment...helps my critical thinking skills though.
I may have made a breakthrough just now, I will test it when I leave for work at 1:30. It seems that the google navigation volume issue only occurs with certain music players. I was using mixzing because I need to be able to browse folders. It was reported that the stock music app did not cause this behavior with google nav, nor did some others. I downloaded meridian player, which has folder functionality also, and through headphones the google nav came through loud and clear and then the music resumed. If this remains true then I am happy. sprint navigation is still not locking, even though GPS status was showing a lock accurate to 4 meters, google nav and mapquest both locked right on. So, that's where this is at right now. I'll report back later.
I never even thought to ask you what music player you were using, however I was going to suggest using a different one. I just assumed you were using the stock android music app.
I've heard others complain about having issues with titanium backup on this rom as well. I myself have never had any issues with it so far (knock on wood). I have the pre version but that shouldn't matter. I have had problems with with other apps and the rom itself, but that was from not doing a complete wipe before flashing to a newer version. Now I always wipe everything because setting things back up to the way I like them is better than my phone being buggy.

I just noticed the low voice volume on Google Nav while playing music on PowerAmp. I use my ROOTED Evo's Nav daily and I rely on it. G.N. and P.A. Worked fine together the first half of my day, then I went for it and I did the Rooted GB update during my lunch and noticed the lack of volume on the voice guidance that interrupts the music while running together right away. I have not tried any other players yet since I love the quality of PowerAmp. I'm going to ask around but as for now I'm going to assume that some of these music players have not had the chance to update for GB yet.. Unless anyone here has a fix for this I have not read about yet?? if so please let me know. otherwise I will wait for an update.
Argh. The 10 post thing is killing me
Has anyone had issues with DSP Manager and Andromadus Audacity Beta 1? It's by far the best ICS ROM I've tried...working camera, camcorder, all audio interfaces working, fast, etc etc.
In CM7 I had really good results with DSP Manager, which hadn't been working in some earlier Andromodus versions, but supposedly is working now, so I switched back to it, and I'm getting no love.
It's not FC or anything, it just doesn't *do* anything. I plug in headphones, fire up Pandora, then go to DSP Manager and toggle everything on/off listening for differences, and nothing seems to change the sound. Very odd.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or more importantly, figured a way to get it to work!
Thanks!
Apparently the DSPManager only works for the stock Media Player. I also had noticed this, I'm wondering why would the CM team would feel the need to change this.
If anybody knows if this behaviour is configurable or reversible then please do share!
I stopped using dsp and started using volume+. It has equalizer, control of headsets and phone speaker. Best of all it makes the G2 speakers louder.
