[Q] data issues using shubcraft2.0 drop mode with hastarin r8 - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

hello all! I've been following all the steps that were included on the original post for shubcraft 2.0 and i updated the kernel to hastarin r8 and copied the modules as well. i have no data connection using this kernel so i experimented with the kernel that originally comes with shubcraft 1.5 rmnet (had great connection with that build minus dropped calls at times) and i was able to get a data connection. do i need a n1 based kernel cuz I've always had an issues with data connection using ppp builds. long story short, i want to use shubcraft 2.0 but can't due to this issues.
please help!

As stated in Hastarin's thread, his kernels won't work on rmnet based builds.
Try michyprima R11 or a ppp build.

ShubCraft is a ppp build, I'm using it myself...

thats what i thought...shu8i stated to update to hastain 7.7+ so off the bat i had a feeling it was a ppp build. I did try michyprima r11 and i'm getting a data connection but i still have low volume making calls. are there any configs or ways to manually adjust any settings. I did notice that with the hastarin r8 kernel, it makes the build extremely smooth and fast compared to michyprima r11
i'm also having a minor issue on the facebook app..it'll load the news feed but i cannot go on a personal profile and view it...any ideas??

FAQ:
Why does my Android loop during boot?
Be sure to delete all existing files before switching to this rom!
Where do I put the files at? Is this NAND?
Root of your sdcard. NO! This requires the use of HARET.EXE
Why am I getting RoboVoice?
This has nothing to do with the rom, but more-so your Windows Mobile rom. Use a different one.
TIPS:
Stability: I would advise using the TMOUS WWW HD2 Stock roms for best compatibility. | Check out the HTC updates page here.

HARET.
There are no nands right now.
It seems very laggy to me and I can't find Flash on Market.
But Video recording works fine and it's very good! I think we are very close to full functional android on HD2
Keep Working, thanks for all
how do you import the apps please?

how did you manage to get the video working, if you don't mind me asking ?
thanks mate
Can't connect to my network which really makes it a deal breaker. But keep at it man. I really like the fact that it is a barebones build. So Close!!!!
This is Android v2.1 not 2.2!? Why is there Froyo in the post name?

Thanks. I am working unconditionally to get WiFi working.
Data patch has been added, and should fix any 3G/Edge issues you have. Read the first post, very bottom
so this isnt froyo 2.2?

No, sorry. This is EClair... Which looks rather similar to FROYO, which is why I got confused.
Will be perfect if you get wifi working! Love the barebones approach!!!! Don't have much use for bluetooth, just need my wifi cause I live in an Egde/Gprs only area. Keep at it man!!

I am working my best to get this working, as I can see it's the major flaw in this rom. I will release patches here and there

It's because this rom is based on Eclair and flash is only available for Froyo.
If your WIFI doesn't works, try seting ip manually. This is working right for me. Nice rom, it's the faster i had tried.
Data didn't work for me. Anybody else having a problem with with 3g/GSM? And I also notice it recognizes it 's in usb mode when plugged to the computer, but still not actually able to access the files on the sd.
Nice build. Data is working good now with the new rootfs!
And flash LED in camera is back working, that's also nice!
Only issues:
- Having some touchscreen freezes from time to time.
- No GPS (known issue).
- Compass not working properly, it is 90 degree off.
- WiFi only working if you set static IP (known issue).
Cool! I'll set up a static IP then! Thanks!

I don't want to say too much, thank you all, good luck.
This is the LAST build. If the build does not work for you, try JDMS and SuperRAM.

Nice work.
Prefer Sense Build personally.
YES! At last a build with a great great kernel !
10x ! Downloading.....
great, finally a clean CM build with RMNET. PPP connection problem has been a headache.
Thank you all for the kind words.
Please response to this thread if you experience any issue.
Great rom, love the 200DPI!
Some issues:
- Market is not showing all appps (also not with MarketEnabler on TMobile)
- Google Maps is asking for Google Account, and come in loop with this question
- HIGH battery drain
Go on with the great release, we need good (non Sense) Froyo roms like this!

Thank you for your quick feedback.
1. Personally, I'm using paid apps enabler and it works great. Would please send me the app name which cannot be shown in market? I'll check it out.
2. When first time the Maps app runs you will be asked to grant permissions, Allow and everything works. I didn't experience the loop problem, please try again and give me further feedback, thanks.
3. Normally currentwidget shows 5-8mA when screen turned off, but sometimes it jump to 50-70mA. I'm seeking the reason and solution.
Pretty solid build, haven't tried it for long enough to comment on the battery life.
You claim there are no screen freezes, that's great and all but I got a 20 second freeze just by picking up my phone. How are you getting no freezes?
Other than that, great build. Keep up the good work.

Hello shadiku, sorry for my words on screen freeze, will change it soon.
I just tried shaking my phone but still no freeze. As mentioned in the first post, I'm currently using ChuckyDroidROM 23139 and Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14.
Hope to hear your further feedback, thanks.
how about camera, still 3m or 5m?
Running it with latest official kernel, works ok - some widgets doesnt work probably cause of the 200dpi - some times screen freezes/time outs for 30sek while turning it on.
Will try it some day.
Thanks for a good job!

[Q] Tiny Windows Mobile Rom to launch Android

Hi guys!
I'm using Android for daily use. Windows Mobile is in my case just here to launch Android or Ubuntu (currently just for fun^^).
Actually on my phone I have following Roms/Radios and more:
Radio: 2.12.50.02_2
HSPL2
WM-Rom: Artemis A23.00 GER
Android: Bangsters v1.4 cm6 with kinda outdated zImage(19.09) - Will be updated/changed soon
So is Artemis the right Rom for that, is it too large/bulky or should I just update it to the latest version?
If it's too bulky which WM-Rom would you recommend me to use?
It should have following "features":
-Fast boot-up
-Texting and Calling with a contact-list should work if Android had a problem^^
-As long as possible battery-life
-No HTC-Logo with SOUND at boot-up...
-I don't mind about the gui - default or any tiny gui is ok
-Maybe 3G with a browser, but not essential (I'm using android for these things...)
-Naturally Android should be able to run without robot-voice on it
I hope you can help me - Thanks
PS: Has PPP and RMNet anything to do with your radio or Windows Mobile Rom? - Currently using RMNet in my startup-config, because I can't connect to the internet with PPP and RMNet is kinda more stable.
I am using the official HTC 3.14 ROM, with Sense Disabled.
The ROM itself starts way faster then the stock ones from a while back.
It doesn't have much to do with recommendations, more with personal 'likes'.
If you want a fast light ROM, i'd say VBN Reloaded or ChuckyDroid.
Hey thanks for your fast reply!
ChuckyDroid seems to be quite the Rom I was looking for. - Thanks

Patched Kernel for TS freeze?
Hi,
This looks awesome, however, the only thing still annoying me on other excellent builds, are the TS freezes, which occur sometimes, even after calibration.
I understand that Hastarin's 8.2 was patched for testing the TS freezes.
is this kernel also patched to avoid them?
Sorry guys forgot to place the media file in Android folder if u already had the file just copy your other Android media file and paste it in the SE V 3.2 Android file reboot .. Good luck.

[Q] Noob Android tester question...

At the moment I am testing to run [Build][8.11.2010] NexusHD2-FRG83 V1.6 PPP + RMNET (Froyo2.2.1) Kernel: hastarin r8.1.
I am getting it running.... no problem about that... But I have one basic question and I do not know is it because of Image or ROM version or what...
But it seems that there is no option for different display settings if you are using it with battery or external power. I would like to keep display on when usin ext. power... Could somebody help me?
Also... Any kind of advices, tips&tricks would be nice and also suggestions from nice android ROM where every feature is working....(camera & so on...)
It may be in settings - applications - development, not sure your build has this feature though...

It should do, as far as I can remember it was in the same place in my ShubCraft build, and it is in MCCM SE 3.3 as well so I think that's a good call.
It's a feature in CM-based roms. Shubcraft definitely is, don't know MCCM but the 'CM' at the end gives me a pretty good idea..
MCCM is the builder, he's named this one after himself, and it's a sense build (actually it's an MDJ build he's modified)
