[Q] Tiny Windows Mobile Rom to launch Android - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi guys!
I'm using Android for daily use. Windows Mobile is in my case just here to launch Android or Ubuntu (currently just for fun^^).
Actually on my phone I have following Roms/Radios and more:
Radio: 2.12.50.02_2
HSPL2
WM-Rom: Artemis A23.00 GER
Android: Bangsters v1.4 cm6 with kinda outdated zImage(19.09) - Will be updated/changed soon
So is Artemis the right Rom for that, is it too large/bulky or should I just update it to the latest version?
If it's too bulky which WM-Rom would you recommend me to use?
It should have following "features":
-Fast boot-up
-Texting and Calling with a contact-list should work if Android had a problem^^
-As long as possible battery-life
-No HTC-Logo with SOUND at boot-up...
-I don't mind about the gui - default or any tiny gui is ok
-Maybe 3G with a browser, but not essential (I'm using android for these things...)
-Naturally Android should be able to run without robot-voice on it
I hope you can help me - Thanks
PS: Has PPP and RMNet anything to do with your radio or Windows Mobile Rom? - Currently using RMNet in my startup-config, because I can't connect to the internet with PPP and RMNet is kinda more stable.

I am using the official HTC 3.14 ROM, with Sense Disabled.
The ROM itself starts way faster then the stock ones from a while back.
It doesn't have much to do with recommendations, more with personal 'likes'.
If you want a fast light ROM, i'd say VBN Reloaded or ChuckyDroid.

Hey thanks for your fast reply!
ChuckyDroid seems to be quite the Rom I was looking for. - Thanks

Easy install Android on HD2

When I search on XDA, I always see that manny users flash their HD2 with a custom WM rom. (for maximum battery performance)
I've installed on my own HD2 also Android, and the only thing I have done is:
- Install HASPL3
- Replace the original Radio to 2.08
- Disabled the sense in homescreen WM (my original Rom is 1.66)
- Installed Core Droid V0.7
Every thing works great in this build.
When my phone is in suspend mode, my HD2 uses only 5mA.

[Sarcasm]Wow! Thank you for contributing to the development of Android for the HD2![/Sarcasm]
Yeah, I know updating to most recent official update is really android friendly and you don't need to mess with hspl or anything, just drag and drop. Give it a few cycles and it's not that bad.although personally I have nrgz sencity cause I like the l look of the rom..

[Q] fastest rom?

what is the fastest rom to use on blackstone?
im currently using cookie energy rom, i dont really like it as it's slow and the vol up/down buttons no longer control volume!
im looking for a simple fast rom!
the fastest rom is stock rom, it works perfectly, since it was made for the device, in contrast to most cooked roms, that use packages from other devices, like leo, topaz, rhodium.
the oldest versions always run fastest, so stock rom with wm6.1 and manila 1.3 is one end of the line, wm6.5.5 and sense 2.5 is the other. try anything in between to find what works best for you and offers the ideal balance between speed and features and looks.

where do i find the link for stock roms?
so theres no bare rom?
Try this ROM
depending on your blackstone's serial number, you might be able to download one or more different versions of the stock rom on htc.com. an alternative to get access to all stock roms without s/n check is shipped-roms.com. with the latter make sure that your download is really complete (in many attempts, downloads aborted for no apparent reason with some roms) and extract them to flash with a custom RUU to bypass cid checks.
I personally use a WWE stock rom 1.56.479.0 with radio 1.13.25.24 and i found it to be a very fast rom. I tried several cooked roms, but most of them are bundled with applications that i don't like or use and the 6.5 roms are simply not as fast as 6.1 roms. Tried several stock roms too, but sticking to this one for now cause it works flawlessly. Some of the stock roms i tried were driving me crazy cause data connection was auto-activating every couple of seconds, bad for battery life and for my money, since i i don't have an unlimited data plan.

...good advice...Im using it and its an excellent ROM (kwbr). Very fast and even more stable and reliable. This rom realy transformed my touch HD...previously i had Energy 6.5 rom with sense 2.5, then switched to blackSTONEhenge wimo6.5 with manila 2.1, and it was much much better than Energy rom. On the end I decided to try KWBR wm6.1 manila2.1 rom and it was the right one for me...now my device performs EXCELLENT...loads of free RAM and the speed is

[Q] TEST ANDROID over other Windows Mobile ROM

I want to know if it is worth a try? What do you think? I sounds like a good idea

I dont know what Roms you have available for your device but it may be worth adding a section with what Roms (stock or custom) work with Android and what ones arent working correctly. While Android is emulated, there are still some WinMo drivers that affect the operation of your Android port and certain Roms may not work.
It may be worth trying to flash a different Rom and then try Android again.
Mark.

I currently use:
ROM-Version (Vodafone)Switzerland German: 1.41.166.1, (10904) Radio:0.63.05.41
the next one I will try is:
[ROM][25.06.2011][WWE-ITA-FRA-ELL-GER-RUS-SPA-NLD-DAN] ver 3.10 nsourm -build 29022
ver.5 - RUU_Signed_????no_sense_clean.nbh is without sense and cookies home tab and without extra apps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801481
The nsourm rom is highly recommended and very stable (version 3.1) I also run this base WM6.5 ROM too (without sense and without cookies home tab). It seems to be quite compatible with the Android port as it mostly follows stock rom philosophy.
The other optional cab that has been installed is the stock icons.cab located here as without it, my SPB shell doesn't show all the icons properly. I have no problems with the Android Loader 1.0 dual boot application (set to autoboot after 10 seconds). I'd first flash the stock ROM then this one if wanting to change from another custom ROM.
you tried over nsourm 3.1 and Android works well, but have you tried over your stock ROM? and have you noticed any difference? such as. that something works better, or that something is not working at all?
I have not tried Android with my stock ROM and don't want to go back to stock ROM either as I still need to use WM6.5 from time to time - because there is no Garmin for Android! Stock ROM used to crash often whereas with nsourm 3.1 it is definitely much more stable given it incorporates more recent builds. I would assume that given nsourm is close to stock ROM philosophy (but with much more recent builds) that there would not be much difference to anything that ran in Android. Maybe someone has already tested for the differences.. and can let us know the results!
Hi, 15Ma1l,
I tried four different of HTC Official ROMs for my htc mini, and I can say: There isn't any Difference and all of them were same when booting android. and I knew this idea for months.
but I didn't tried nsourm ROM, because of arabic persian unicode support?
thank you for answers !
iPlasm could you please write a list with these ROMs you already tried?

Sure, I will
1- The Originally Phone's ROM. (I don't know what was the Name of ROM image)
2- RUU_Photon_HTC_ARA_1.36.415.4_Radio_Signed_32.2807.05.06_0.63.05.41_Ship
3- RUU_Photon_HTC_ITA_1.36.408.1_Radio_Signed_32.2803.05.06_0.63.05.36_Ship
4- RUU_Photon_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.36.707.3_Radio_Signed_32.2803.05.06_0.63.05.36_Ship
And now I'm on HTC Asia WWE, forth once.
If there is better than these ROM images, I will Thank you for you... but IT Must support Unicode arabic and persian

[Q] Android or WM 6.5 for HTC Touch HD

Which android or WM 6.5 rom for HTC Touch HD is the best for me to use? I mean, that it has everything working(Im thinking of using WM 6.5 for everyday use, and Android purely for apps and wifi (browsing, facebook, YT(optional), and maybe some music). I'm thinking of putting custom 6.5 rom in my HD. So, can some1 provide me with the best ROM out there and a tutorial to flashing it? I already know how to put Android on phone, just need a nice ROM.It would be great if you could only copy/paste ROM threads. Thanks. And sorry if i violated something on website, but im fairly new, and cant really understand all those tutorials.
P.S. Is HD running WM 6.5 rom better than it running WM 6.1?
Thanks again guys, im really gratefull ^^
WM for battery life
Android is only running properly on SD card builds - so you can have both easily enough.
I like WM6.5 but some say that WM6.1 is faster overall.
Depends what you want.
My blackstone is my work mobile and I have WM6.5 EDGE SWIFT rom on it at the moment, works well - I just need basic functionality out of it really, but battery life is very useful!
I'd love an Android NAND rom on it sometime though
the EDGE rom thread has a tutorial link in it - but the general gist is probably for WM roms:
1) update with HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex (may be slightly different - check the tutorials first!)
2) download BlackstoneAdvancedRUU
3) find and download the rom you want, extract the .nbh and put it with the BlackstoneAdvancedRUU.exe
4) run BlackstoneAdvancedRUU.exe, task 29, run BlackstoneAdvancedRUU.exe again, task 28 and select your nbh file from the list
follow on screen instructions at all times.
you might want to flash the RADIO: HD_1.17.25.09.nbh too if you havent already got the latest radio...
Ok, i managed to somehow install WM 6.5 and its working well , got iGo on it, and some other apps. Now, which Android is the best for things i posted in my previous post?
(web browsing, music, apps) It doesn't need to have working camera, because i dont really use it, and if i needed it, i'd use it via WM 6.5.
P.S. is it possible to watch movies (.avi; .mkv; etc.) on WM 6.5 and Android?
P.P.S How to connect my phone to PC via WM and via Android?
P.P.P.S What's the status of Android Market's games and apps on Blackstone? Are they all working?
Thank you very much

[Q] HD2 flash wm 6.5 to android - active links

Hi,
I still own a HTC HD 2 with windows mobile 6.5 (vodafone) and would like to install android instead. There are several videos how to flash the HD2 and tutorials with links but a lot of them seem to be out of date. So I am looking for an really good running android version (should operate without interruption - newest version is not the focus) and active links for download on win7 (32bit) PC.
Great would be a complete tutorial with active links.
Who can help?
Thanks

look here http://android.hd2roms.com/all-builds/
usually, the oldest they are, the most stable thay are... if you need stability, install a 2.3.x andtoid with sense 3.5 rom, but remember that there are also new roms that are fast and stable... i've flashed a 4.4.2 rom on my hd2 and it works fawlessly
active links
Thanks for this reply.
Since I'm not experienced in flashing smart phones, it would be great if I could get practical hints and especially precise active links for all necessary downloads (HSPL, Task29, Radio, magldr, CWM, cLK, sense, Rom, nand, ....??? - it's all Greek to me) on a win7 32bit PC.
Thanks in advance
Sven
PS: The HD 2 Toolkit I do have already.
here there is everything you need...
