I went little bit too far and pressed CLEAR DATA on my phone Market App.
Now when I go to Market, Downloads tab it shows only Apps I bought but the free Apps I downloaded from Market aren't there.
Some of them I know to be have newer versions already.
Is there a way to fix the 'connections' for those apps to the market without reinstalling/updating them?
EDIT: found it, just need to install any apps and all seems restored
You can restore a market link udong titanium backup, even when.you did not backup the link before..

I use Astro File Manager to back up my apps. I wiped my phone when I installed CM5 and I restored all my apps with Astro. I noticed that the apps I restored with Astro do not show up in my market's Downloaded section. Is there a way to delete the markets cache or something so that they show up so I can get updates? Thanks.

Use aTrackdog
Works nicely, thanks!
anytime...............
And get a better backup app than Astro.
Astro only backups the apk but not the data - so theres also no market link available. You should try backing up with "titanium backup" - it's the only app, which backups all data
I'll try that from now on, thanks guys
Thanks for the answer I'll be giving it a try. Although I just want to point out that titanium backup isn't an option if you don't have root which I was stuck without until recently.
Edit: I lost one paid app using this method. Thankfully it was an app I was going to get rid of anyway. Other then that I was able to get all my apps relinked to the market using this method. And now that I'm rooted I'll be using Titanium backup from this point on.
I uninstalled many apps through titanium backup. But whenever I go to settings>applications>manage applications the leftovers are there but when I press on them it says app not found but the name is still there. Anyway to get rid of it?

So I want to backup all my apps before 2.1 update and dont want to use a root app that might not work strait off. Question is will app monster restore apps with market links so they will still recieve updates?
Thanks

I'm not sure about app monster but the latest versions of Titanium back up can force applications to link in the market.
You could always try that, but you'll have to wait for root.

app monster just sits in the background backing up the APK as its installed basically you end up with a folder called APPMONSTER full of APK files that you have downloaded or installed from SD card in their original uninstalled state not quite sure what your getting at regarding market links but they are as they were originally nothing gets changed from the original apk its backed up as a whole file if you mean does it appear in the market download section as when you download from the market then no! no app (at least what I have reinstalled/installed) from the SD using appmonsters cache on the sd card will/have appeared in the market downloads section
I use MyBackup Pro. I started using it before I debranded my phone and obviously lost everything in the process. I restored my backup and all the apps were linked to the market.
(also restores loads of other stuff, if u want it to, Contacts, Call Log, Bookmarks, SMS, MMS, System Settings, Android Home, Alarms, Dictionary, Calendar, Music Playlist)
It's $4.99 but theres a 30 day free trial, so if it's just for one job, may be worth giving it a go.
So, prividing that after the 2.1 update we won't be able to root
(at least immediately), if I use MyBackup, will the applications be automatically re-installed via Restore option?
I know that app data recovery is not possible without root, but will at least avoid the manual re-installation?
Has someone used MyBackup is a non rooted phone to confirm how is the restore actually working?
i am being flashing different Roms all the time to try out various Roms, but everytime i flash the rom by full wipe, iam having nightmare in restoring all the apps. i have around 200 apps and i also have the titanium backup, but as everyone know i have to press install 200 times to restore all the apps. it is making me crazy.
i want to know how u guys addressing this, is there any way out or have to live with this nightmare
Latest market or android version sync your market apps when you launch market the first time. At least it did that for me stock kl7. But DON'T go to your downloads open market and press back leave the apps to get installed from notification bar if you press my downloads after a few you get a error saying you don't have space on your phone and if it stops once forget to continue it later they disappear so if you fail with it. code factory reset it and try again it is faster. Done 4 or 5 till i succeed. But works on market apps only rest manually.

Buy titanium backup pro. Installs everything automatically. I think astro file manager has a backup feature for free.

Are you talking about apps from your myapp list in the market? Or apps from titanium backup? If you have free version, you will have to install apps manually. If you have titanium pro, it will install all 200 apps automatically with no user input.
Not sure why the current apps that are installed on my device are not showing up in Google Play Store. Also, its saying that some apps are installed when I dont have them installed on my device.
Have you tried clearing data ?

Did you restore apps with Titanium Backup? Your market links may not have been updated, have TB restore market links. If you didn't restore apps with TB then disregard.

I've never needed to use TB, seems that whenever I installed a ROM, and I would go through the initial restore/setup process, I add my wifi, and then I see that my apps are usually already being downloaded. Nowadays it seems that this doesn't happen all the time. Cant figure out why this happens infrequently or what determines when it will do that. Seems based on the ROM. No?
