Mdeejay builds - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello everyone
First of all thanks to mdeejay for the amazing work he has been doing. We all really appreciate that but i suggest instead of launchin new builds everyday he shud concentrate on improving one or two builds and make them more stable and final. Like we have sound issues need to turn speaker on off for louder volume. Gsensor is not calibrating ..the vertical position is messed up..screen on off takes time..needs to be more responsive..and many other issues which we all can point out.
Thanx

he has to be. can't think of an other reason.

I love it testing the different mdeejay roms. What a stupid thread...

Yes, for example PPP.
PPP disconnection is the most actual problem. It's very strange that this problem is not resolved still. I need to use Skype. But I can't use, because PPP disconnections happen very often when Skype is running. Still only rmnet based builds works properly with Skype. But rmnet is slow for Skype using.

Why don't we tell mdeejay to put nand out today at 7pm... you ungrateful........

Thread should be deleted .............

Why is this thread created every few days? I am getting so sick of "MDJ needs to..." threads. Geez.
Somebody pleeeze!!!! Delete this thread.

I do not see sense in the numerous builds, because all of them have the same problems which developers should eliminate, but not Mdeejay. These problems aren't solved, therefore all ppp based builds are useless.

@r4yd3n
please .... just die....

I think i can speak on behalf of everyone with out people like u i would have a lame ass hd2........thank you for all ur hard work f*&^ that douche keep doing wat u do

Agree with you!

Anyone posting crap like this, you're an @sshole. How about instead of whining about what mdeejay needs to do for you, you try to put in some of the work that he does for us and create a perfect build yourself. Have you not noticed that everytime there is a fix, mdeejay is usually the first to incorporate into most of his builds? Go buy an iPhone you ingrate.

+ 1.000.000 xddddddd

i'm coming to the HD2 family of HTC products after my MyTouch Died from heavy flashing daily of builds not to mention a little water. These things were said with far more frequency there and kept a lot of sh*t going on. Please get this guy outta here. we don't need antying negative here..
btw, lets shoot for MDJ to do nand at 645

Ban ban ban ban ban!
FOR THE LOVE OF...............ban this guy..........ban ban ban ban ban

I have an idea!! If you dont like the amazing work he is doing....DO IT YOURSELF!!!! I cant stand stupid @$$ threads like this. Shot yourself in the foot? Very few of you are ungrateful and get mad about the amazing amount of good builds he put out. If your one of them, keep to yourself.
People like you are the ones that make people like him not want to do it at all. Please Mdeejay, disregard people like this.

Lol i agree

We must respect the opinion of everyone, please!

You have to respect his opinion, but if mdeejay had a camera fixed, all roms probably wouldve been fixed. So its not about focussing on one rom. If you need a camera and gsensor use a desire rom.

Help What build of Android should I use PLEASE????

Hi everyone, this is my issue I want to use the android but to tell you the truth I don't know which one to use, there are so many and each one I have read about have some sort of issue. I think if the chefs focus on working together to better one build of Android instead of recreate a new build for every little feature we all would be happy. After that is achieved the chefs can focus on working towards what they desire in their own cooked up version. I would be willing to pay a little something for all the hard work and i'm sure a lot of other users would to. It's just my stupid input but I think it would be a lot more time saving and use full than having to install 5 different cooked up roms to find out what build works the best.
By the way can anyone that has tried different builds tell me what would be best to install? I'm looking for something stable fast with Sense and I would also like to know what cooked up windows rom would work best with it. THANKS EVERYONE!!!
Oh I'm using 2.13 from tmobile!!!!
Wow did you just step into it..
Im just going to sit here with my popcorn and watch what happens..
Oh no...mods please close before this poor guy gets flamed. There was enough flaming in the 'too many mdeejay builds' thread
OP, here's the only response you're gonna get to this questions cause it's been asked 100 times before...
Try them out. Go through the different build threads and read..and read..and read. Different builds work better or worse for different people. It has a lot to do with your specific phone/winmo rom/radio/sd card/other data.
Not a single build is 100% perfect yet. Just have to find the one that works best for your usage.
On the bright side, it doesn't take much to install/uninstall/install a new Android build, so it isn't too much of a hassle trying different ones out to see what works best for you.
Good luck!

do you mind if i take some of that?... i just ate all mine watching the thread by the guy who hates mdeejay lol.
seriously, people need to start getting bans/suspensions.
OP:
do what most of the adults are doing... try some builds FOR YOURSELF and see what you like or dont like.
First you are (probably) going to have to flash a new WM ROM and radio.
do some research on this or you will most likely brick your HD2.
No-one here will give you any more help than the advice here ^^^
now for the love of god.... someone beer-me... i need a drink
I agree with tgtoys...but to help you out I personally use hyperdroid and I have less issues with it than most WM roms I have flashed...nearly everything works and works good. I have minimal freeze issues (similar to WM). I use Android every single day with no regrets...and it is my business phone! GL
@op, please try the build that fits you best.
@others... stop flaming the guy for his question and post somthing useful.

There's only so many builds here. Try reading the thread of a build you might be interested in, try it. If you don't like it, try another. "Best" is very subjective. What's best for you may not be best for someone else. Switching builds is not very time consuming.
The best build is the one you didn't read about... which is all of them. You my friend should stick to windows mobile so you don't have to ask these kind of questions.
God not another one
I know its frustrating to try to find the best build, and I agree with others there isn't one best build with the variety of android types there are esp with or without sense. But the truth is there is no one solid build. I've tried like ten different ones and all have problems. Hell even a phone with stock android will have problems.
New builds come out almost daily. Figure out if you like sense out not, and find a build that is most stable for you. Then just read forums till you find one where all the reviews seem positive. Don't get in the habit of changing rooms daily though cuz it'll be a pain in the butt to reinstall everything and not much may change in builds each day. Good luck.

Yeah.....another wonderful post
hahah
haha! I f*cken love it. I can recommend mdeejay's builds and Core's core droid v0.5. Cause it seems you have no idea what your looking for, just start there, learn a few things about it and find out what you want. Many people will disagree with the recommendations given, but that just proves the above points: Everyone's taste is different. Also this is NOT saying mdeejay's and Core's series are the best, just MY recommendation.
Please....... stop....... these....... posts. Can't........ take........ anymore.

Oh f*ck off seriously, can we not start limiting sign ups?
what's the best build guidelines ?
I agree with you all guys, except we can give him tips, afterall.
For exemple:
look for what you use,
some build do not work with 5mp camera,
some are faster with data transfer
just click on them all, read what's working/not working,
forget what you don't like, try what you like.

I seriously didnt even know the forum had that option. Thanks for the tip!
I agree, that a lot of questions shouldn't be asked, because the answers are already somewhere on the forum. This question belongs to the general android forum, but it could be a nice thread, in which experiences from users can be read.
If you like HTC Sense you should use Coredroid 0.5. It has everything working, (camaraflash works properly, handsfree dialing; don't forget to fix the dialing preferences)Important is the right radio, and I experienced, that the Chucky windows ROM's (e.g. Cuckydroid) work fine with it. Some other windows ROM's caused dramatic bad Data connections.
Good luck, and read a lot!

I have no opinion what the 'best' build is, but here is how I go about working out when and what android build to install on my HD2 next.
For each post from a Chef, I read the intructions to see if it works out of the box or if I needed to be adding extra modules / making other changes. Then I read the replies. Are the majority of the replies positive or negative? Does the Chef post replies? Is the Chef active on the forum?
I install builds where the Chef is active on the forum and / or active in the irc chat. Where no additional modules have to be installed. Where the majority of the replies are positive. But that is just me, everyone is different
EDIT: Oh and the obvious one, whether it is sense or vanilla. I choose sense most times.
I agree that if you got nothing to say just ignore the post. No need to come in here and get all over the guy or gal. I for one am glad he posted as I found out all of my data connction problems were due to my ROM. I love the Elegancia ROM's but it seems that Chucky's works much much better at least with my connections. Thanks for the good info. Oh I like the Desire ROM as it was built for a phone very similar to ours, thus it incorporates a lot of HTC goodies. Flashlight, Facebook integration etc.

what rom do you prefer according your taste?

True and I feel its very disrespectful to the developers because they put their heart and soul in these roms. This far in android development all roms are super smooth and fast. It's just a matter of preference. I tried a lot of roms both gingerbread and sense hd and believe me some of these roms run close to if not better than native android devices. So please close this thread and go find some better to do than to insult the great devs of xda.

That is simply not true, there is a lot to be done in terms of Sense Roms. However, many dev's are working hard to change that and it is only a matter of time to see Sense Roms as smooth as Stock/CM/MIUI roms...
This thread is very disrespectful to the devs indeed. +1

This thread is very disrespectful to the devs indeed. +1
you can better change the titel to ''flame me'' watching to this titel i can see that you get flames.
maybe it's better to close this thread.
Actually I think what thread starter is trying to do is to see which is the most popular ROM. Not which ROM is the best, smooth, fast, battery life etc. So I think it is ok. Most popular ROM does not mean best ROM and best Rom does not mean most popular ROM. Hence it is really about preference. No correct answer.
ill say none of the above
but this really needs closing, there is no need to make this type of thread as mentioned the devs work hard to release their roms and it isnt some sort of wang judging contest to see whos the best
according to what other people says, i want to say something.
i think also that this thread is "wrong" i think.. the title is wrong.. i'd used something that "what rom do you prefer according your taste", i think that some people at first flash can found here the first rom to try, only the first, because is needed to try all of the roms.. because all roms are great. i change rom every 2 days.. when i found a rom that i prefer.. make a donation.. and use it for a few weeks! by the way... congratulations to all dev for their great works!
EDIT: liehuo anticipadet me! and sorry for my english!

Don't spam for 10 posts. Why on Earth would anyone in the HD2 forums care about your Evo 3D? The ONLY place you should consider posting things randomly is the off-topic thread. Please either just use your knowledge to help people or use the off-topic and general threads, but do not unnecessarily clutter up the forums, especially the forums of other devices.

HTC sense 4.0 on galaxy s 2

Hi guys!
First let me say that i'm not whining but rather thinking at high voice and sharing my thoughts!
I seriously don't understand why people at SGS2 forums don't work on porting HTC sense 4.0 on this beast!
And please don't say "do it yourself" because if i knew how to do it i would have done it but i'm a civil engineer and have nothing in developing.
Imagine one of the best hardware with the best software!!!
I know sense has flaws but it's way better than Touchwiz or AOSP / AOKP / CM9 etc...
As i dare to ask that question I know you might say "hey what are you doing here then?! Go buy an HTC etc..." and will probably flame me!
But really i am very afraid of buying a HTC one X or One S coz i've been hearing and reading about the hardware flaws : signal losses, battery issues, screen issues, coating issues, sound issues etc...
The old good HTC is, unfortunately i say, gone! The good hardware build and quality of HTC desire or HD2 is gone! They are making a lot of mistakes in terms of hardware design!
Bottom line, can you try port HTC sense 4.0/ICS to our beloved S2?!?
And please don't tell me it can't be done because it is now being ported to Samsung nexus S and Samsung galaxy nexus!
If many agrees with me we can even start a bounty!
Thanks,

Yeah but these guys are left alone and no experienced developers / coders are helping in the project! That's why the project is in Coma right now!
You try hacking closed source software to work on proprietary hardware that the software was never designed for... We then can talk about "Getting sense on this beast". The day I see sense on my SGS2 (Or SGS3, or SGS4) is the day I do the zulu dance buck naked in winter.

Doubt it'll happen, cos general consensus is to do away with custom interfaces completely and even if given a choice most will have touchwiz which is less intrusive, than sense.
ports for galaxy nexus and nexus s are still very pre-alpha they barely boot and nothing usable about them. in my opinion this port will never happen and if it happened it will not be ready for daily use.

I have already posted a thread about the developers not being "actively" interesting in porting HTC sense UI to our beloved SGS II.
( For your interest : Just search SGS I and Nexus S forms and see what Qube2 and Swamp globin are doing )
Non of them even replied about what exact difficulties they might have !!
It's not " just a UI " it's UI with the best implementation of twitter, facebook, weather, email ,,,, etc.
Probably your post will be moved to Q/A subform where you will never get any chance that real developers would see it.
Again thanks for bringing this up again
