how did you rot, and if it said root successful, then go into the market and download superuser and then you should be able to give apps the correct permissions, hope this helped let me know if you run into problems.
There is a version of SU in the floder on your sdcard called Fission. It's in the Essential apps folder inside Fission. See if that loads if it isn't the one you tried.
I used 123 root and when trying to use the one in the fission folder it says installation unsuccessful

I have an htc incredible with 2.2 froyo installed.
version 2.2
kernel 2.6.32.15
baseband 2.15.00.07.28
and s-off
When I startup titanium backup the app says that it can not find root.
it is allowed in superuser, and super user starts up fine as well as some other root only apps.
Help?
Probably saying something about installing busybox, too. Right?

Firstly sorry for asking dumb questions, I didn't see the problems button at first.
Secondly what does busy box do. Doesn't super user already give it all the permissions it needs?

Idk but just open busybox, first time it always fails for me. Just click install again then titanium will work.

busybox is like DOS/*nix/etc prompt, only that it processes commands in the background. Even you have a working copy of Busybox installed, it's a good idea to hit said button and download a specific version of Busybox for TB (don't worry, it doesn't overwrite any existing copy of busybox).
Hi Guys,
Just used "superoneclick" to root my phone.
I have just opened the superuser app but i get the message "no apps in list"
I wanted to be able to use this to delete unwanted apps from my phone.
Or is there another way to get rid of these now its rooted.
(BTW bit of a newbie so simple instructions please lol)
Thanks for your help in advance.
Rob
If you want to remove apps install Titanium Backup from Market
If your phone is rooted, you could try using Root Explorer, then go to the app folder and delete it there maybe? Not sure haven't tried it myself, but it might just work
So I have downloaded directly to my phone bootstrap and Z4root. They are on my SD card.
I've enabled USB Debugging.
I can now run the z4root apk without loading the Android SDK and connectiing my phone to the PC, right? I came to this conclusion from reading the noobs Guide Sticky that said this:
"...If you don't want to have to mess with this method of installing, you could also download "Astro File Manager" from the android market. You would then need to save z4root.apk to your sdcard of your Droid X. Then open the Astro program and browse to your SDcard and file the z4root.1.3.0.apk...."
I ask because I read some threads about having downloaded the z4root to their PC first, then copying it to the SD & having had better luck that way.....or did I mis-read these threads?
And the kwes-chun:
The noob guide says "if you wanna remove the bootstrap...." but it doesn't 'splain why I'd wanna. What is the benefit of removing the bootstrap? And just to be clear, the bootstrap download on pg1 of the "noobs Guide" is for "removing" the bootstrap, right?
Thanky one & all.
All you have to do is install the app and run it. If it doesn't do anything let it go for 15-20 minutes then pull the battery and try again.
For the question about the bootstrap, some people may want to return completely to stock and they will no longer be rooted. I personally wouldn't ever want to do that but some people may want to do this
ah HA...so running the bootstrap apk UN-DOES the rooting the z4root does....thereby returning to Stock?
no, z4root is an app that can root and unroot you, there are options you can select. what you have described is that people download the apk onto their computer since download capability is faster, then transfer it to the sd card of their phone where they install te app and run it allowing them to root. z4root is completely stand-alone and can be downloaded and run without a computer if you so choose.
Koush's dxbootstrapper is an app that allows your phone to hijack the boot process to be able to install custom roms, and access the bootstrap recovery. it is needed if you want to customize your phone. the noobs guide tells you haw to uninstall it if you so choose so that it doesnt show up if you return your phone so you dont get in sum trouble wit vzw for example.
Awesome. I thank you very much; I understand

hi everybodye sorry for the question but im new on this, well i have a htc hd2 from tmobile, i install android nand, following directions of a forum from here, everything is working good, i install setcpu from market and it do not let me configure it,so i install root check and it said is NOT rooted, my question is how can i root my phone,, please help.. thanx a lot and sorry if my question is stupid for some of you guys
As long as you have hspl you should be rooted. I would check to make sure you have setcpu superuser permission

thanx so much for you answer and not make fun of me, well yes i installed hspl3, and when it done it said we hack it, but root checker still say, sorry you dont have root access can you please tell me how to check superuser permission, thanx so much,,
Look in your app tray and see if you have a Superuser icon. If you do then ckick in it and then find where it says allow superuser access. Most Andriod ROMs for tbe HD2 are already rooted when you install them. If you do not have a Superuser icon then Google "z4root" it is a one click root app that works. You will have to dowmload it unzip/extract the apk and copy it to your SD card and then use a file manager to navigate to the apk file and open it this will install the app to your phone. This is also what is known as "sideloading" in Andriod. Open the app and click on Root now button and it will root your phone.
Using a cpu overclock app has a downside as well as the upside of a faster response when in use.
The downside is that when downclocked and idle, the phone can take a couple of seconds to clock up to the operating speeds required - on some roms its more noticable than others. but a good solid ROM does not need this boost and there a few on here
please help
im having exactly the same problem doing my head in ,i installed a nand gingerbread rom that is faultless it cracked it and gave me a super user icon however the superuser never opens and when i install certain programmes they need root access and its saying my phone is not rooted ive checked with a rooting app and it says no root ive tried several methods that has not worked ie superoneclick gingerbreak nothing seems to work
any help would be appreciated
im not a novice ive flashed many devices etc cant seem to figure out why i havent got root though
^ try a different ROM
almost all are rooted already
I just started using DX and then i tried to use system app remover to delete something and then it says my phone is not rooted? i still have superuser and rootexplorer works. Busybox cannot be installed because its not rooted?
Any suggestions?? i need to root again or what??
Weird because root explorer works..and superuser is still there.
you have to root it again,
it wont remove any files
so if you did it once a second time wont be as hard
I also use Ginger DX, and have the same problem as yours. System App Remover seems not compatible with GingerDX. I suggest u to use Titanium Backup to uninstall system app. It works well with GingerDX.
This is a known bug... please refer to this thread..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1205566
Let's just hope the fund raiser is a success and DX will get a new X8 soon
1. try to get in terminal emulator (if you have one) and type there "su"
and check if ($ goes to # )
2. you might delete some essential app which helps system work in rooted mode so try to reinstall ROM. if still doesn't work try to root that again. (it's quite easy with super user one click)
just root it again.. only 1 click
No no no guys! It's a bug in the GingerDX series. Just wait for doixanh to fix it.
