Media Hub - EVO 4G General

Is there any hope that the Media Hub will be ported to the EVO? That would be nice...

I have the media hub apk on my evo, but there is no movies in it if courses, I'm pretty sure Samsung servers have a way of telling that its not a Samsung phone. I wonder if someone knows how to modify the strings required when authenticating to make it work

post up the APK and lemme tear it apart. I am far from a pro, but we'll see.
Also, what is it lol?

a few months ago htc said in the future they would have a media service similar to that of media hub

dont have device anymore sorry
going to try and install the camera.apk and see if it works ^^
edit: lol did not work
going to try video player to see if it plays xvid .mp4 and also audiosettings to see if equilizer..
thanks
now see if you can get the upcoming garmin t mobile phone so we can try and get garmin
the xvid isn't going to work if the decoders aren't in the OS. Just because a player can play a format, the OS has to have the codecs for it before it will work.
ok video player wont install the audiotuner packes installs does nothing .. no icon.. when try to run directly from titanium it crashes
the mradio or att radio you gave us is a trial with a 10 minute trial time.. b4 it wont work
so far a bust.. but thanks anyway.
Most good stuff doesn't work.
Would love to see Music.apk or why not TW 3.0 launcher ported...
that's a shame most of them doesn't work.

RE: Samsung Device and picking the right Android phone from AT&T
What do you folks think about buying a Samsung Android phone after the last fiasco they did with their Behold II device?
I am on the AT&T network with an expired contract waiting for a good Android phone with at least a 2.1 Android OS. Has anyone heard of anything in the pipeline? Will the Desire or Legend be coming? What about the Dell Aero? Is that something that I should be taking seriously?
I've heard about the Dell Streak, but to be honest, as sharp as that looks, the thing is just too damned big to fit in my pocket and I can't picture me holding that up to my head - that is, unless I was Herman Munster.
This will be my first Android Device (coming from Blackberry) and I want it to be a good experience. Your help in picking the right phone would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

What about... the Nexus One ?
Or wait for the "Motorola Shadow" (Nexus 2 ? Droid 2 ?) if you want a physical Keyboard.
Bump this thread to ask a question.
Is there any framework-res.apk dump from the i897 or the i9000 (Galaxy S) out there? I really like the status bar icons.
As this is not a theme or an app, I'm going to follow previous methods and move it to general.

Samsung Market Place?

I don't know... I may be wrong here, but I thought that the Galaxy S phones came with a Samsung Market Place of there own as well. Am I wrong? I don't see it in my phone, and was wondering if any, or all of you are missing it as well?
Thanks.
You're referring to the Media Hub. Samsung has not launch this service yet.

Nope, I'm not talking about the Media Hub. I know about that one.
Here check this out http://androidcommunity.com/samsung-road-sms-for-galaxy-s-hands-on-video-20100715/
As you read you'll see where it says "Available exclusively through the Samsung Apps download store on the Galaxy S."
I just want that app, it looks sick! It would just freak some of my friends out.
http://www.samsungapps.com/
Not available for the U.S. market. It will launch alongside Media Hub.

PSFreedom for Android? Is it possible devs?

hi guys,
I don't know if you're familiar but for some time there are some options available to jailbreak your PS3.
The smart guys of the world managed to do so via an USB Dongle and as well via N900 and it seems PalmPre.
Would this be possible via Android/HD2? I suppose it should..
Below are some links so that you devs can have a look at it:
http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65289
http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65355
Update: it seems someone is working on an Android version: http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65246
there's a version for Nokia N900.. hope a port for Android is coming up next
great http://www.ps3news.com/PS3-Hacks/ps-jailbreak-tiny-clone-android-psgroove-port-in-development/
it's absolutely incredible what the devs and technology can do today. wish I knew all that much to do it myself!
this would end up being a app not a build , better in general section ....or better yet in the android general where all those developers are

Yeah, perhaps. I only wanted to know if it would be ported to Android if we could have it on our HD2
i found this link to screens of the guy who says he is working on an android version.
http://howtohackps3.com/psgroove-on-android-updates-openpsjailbreak/
I really want to help program, I am on the github and reviewing the code and seeing if ill be able to convert it myself. i have some free time so ill fool with it.
omg thats so amazing! after this all done all i need is the ps3 lol

There's also a Nexus One PSFreedom out but it sucks that none of them will work for the HD2

and why do you say it won't work on the HD2?
i have read that android must be on the root of the phone. so hd2 has no android root. i'm a noob so if i say it wrong than someone correct me.

Let's just hope the smart devs will get this on our beloved HD2s. I have complete faith in them! Just look around and you'll see impossible is nothing!
But I read in a website there that people were getting banned, so it kinda beats the purpose if you want to play online games. You would only be able to play story mode games with your internet disconnected.

i'm not afraid of a ban. i think i will buy a second ps3 for backupgames. so one for online and one for backups...........

Actually no.. These things aren't actual illegal..
I remember some lawsuit from apple which they lost on this firmware modding.
All this PSFreedom thing does is load the PS3 into debug mode.
Don't really see what's illegal about that..

exactly. I'm rubbing my hands in anticipation of all the homebrew that'll be available. Proper mkv playback, better PS1/2 emulation than the original fat PS3's "hardware" PS2 emu capabilities, snes emulation, better browser (firefox?)... once it's opened up to run anything, the possibilities are endless
oooh yeaah.. 1080p mkv in PS3 willbe juuust right.. I hope someone will port xbmc to ps3..
sony released a new up date that has closed the door so dont update guys

[Q] iTunes port for Iconia?

Looking for a complete music manager i.e. iTunes, for my Iconia. Is this possible or is it out there?
I don't believe so but I've not had my tablet for very long. I used iSyncr and iSyncr WiFi to sync my music from itunes to the external SD card and use Player Pro to play the music.
I like WinAmp - simply because I can do WiFi sync from my PC to Tablet and Phone without wires or SD card swapping.
Just open Winamp on the PC and it shows my droid devices waiting for me to send music to.

Thanks to Torisen & pfc.joker for ideas. Music is the last hurdle in my conversion from everything iRelated
Currently giving Spotify a try
..and syncing my music as we speak. I will probably be able to give a better review later in the week after a bit of playtime.
Some features that drew me to it -
http://www.spotify.com/us/about/features/
...and no, I do not work for them. I too have been looking for something to consolidate music between all my devices.
Winamp was working pretty good for me, but wasn't doing so hot with the A500...
The stock Music browser is pretty and just okay, but not very powerful.
I'm hoping that the Spotify Android app can help me get all of it across all the devices...
More later!
Doubletwist is essentially itunes for android it works great

Gotcha, my bad. Still looking for an iTunes port! Haha..

Welfare tv out. Your xperia is a console now

Its very simple and works great on my phone.
What you need,
A remote client like teamviewer
A laptop
A tv
Set up your remote c
Software so that you can view your phones screen via laptop, hook up laptop to your tv,
Pwn nubs on the bigscreen
Also works good for phones that are touchpad only becaue your hands arent in the way anymore
How do I set it up?
I see my desktop on my phone, how do I switch it around?
Look for droid vnc server on market, it shows the phones screen by default
Easiest way to set it up would be rtfm
What about refresh latency? I've seen Droid VNC but it didn't refresh fast enough...

damn!....thats definitely a possibility. I hope not.
The resolution looks great I just wish it wasn't soooo slowwwww....there's gotta be a good combo of apps/programs that runs fast
EDIT: just f*cked with it for a couple hours.....android side I tried droid vnc server and remote desktop add on...both worked well connecting to PC and vice versa....PC side I used tightvnc and vncviewer.....both worked well also...
BUT yeah, the display on MY pc of my phone's screen was tinted RED, and was really slow...like 1-3 second delay on everything....
there's gotta be a way to optimize this! I wanna play emulators on my TV from my phone goddamnit!
cool, gonna follow this thread. i guess you need a pretty f-ing good internet speed to get it to run good enough for fast games.

I dunno man....the speed, or lack thereof, that it runs at is SOOOOO slow...it just seems like something is fundamentally wrong.
But yeah, I'm gonna follow this thread too. I would love to play n64oid and psxoid on my TV!! (maybe even buy some bluetooth gamepads and play w friends!)

seriously.....and on that note I'd be surprised if there wasn't a way to enable it somehow....the infuse 4g comes with an adapter that plugs into mini-USB and transfers to HDMI....there's gotta be a way to flash the phone so it can do it to?
if its a hardware issue, then yeah that's a dumb solution....but I'd be open to buying a hardware extension if someone modded it...

I just guessing here, but I would imagine that the HDMI out option is available just on the developers kit. During the demo of Desert Winds at E3. There was a port connection between the headphone jack and the usb port. I have to assume that port was placed on the dev. kit to allow for demo of the game during development on a bigger screen. The retail version of the phone probably does not have this port connection. If it did it would be a nice selling point.
HDMI out is in the service menu, but they removed the necessary hardware for the commercial release.
Hardware-wise it's not possible to enable anything because it's not there
eros78 is probably right, the service menu option is just a remnant from the dev kits.
