Is it possible to put interactive buttons in the notification drawer, similar to how espresso puts recent apps in there?

Maybe 2.3 adds this... most of the screenshots blank out the notification bar.

I do not like miui, espresso or touchwiz. Is the default notification bar something that can be replaced? Like how you can replace the default dialer, browser, etc...
It can't be replaced without anything short of a custom ROM. CM has power controls in the shade as of 6.1, but the shade itself can't be replaced.

Hey,
On the old Touchwiz, it was heavily integrated into the phone, so much so that if you did a home replacement like LauncherPro, it still would give you the weird notification bar, etc. The dialer and contact apps were touchwiz too and couldn't be replaced.
Could one of you guys try launcherpro and tell if it does the replacement right? Or is the phone still separate in the odin images?
Thanks.

LauncherPro doesn't replace the notification bars, dialers etc. Only the launcher and the app menu I believe. I don't have a single problem with the touchwiz stuff though, and will probably go back to Touchwiz launcher too.

Ok, just one more question then, what about the settings, are they the stock settings menu or another custom UI like the old Touchwiz?
Thanks.
People have used both launcher pro and adwlauncher and they say they work perfectly fine with the phone.
Personally I'm staying with touchwiz, I love it and I love the smooth application menu, unlike other android devices where it's sluggish and strange. Also, it looks very very good, unlike the videos online, in real it's beautiful. to me anyways

Great thanks. I'll flash my nexus before deciding, but maybe Samsung got it right this time.
Sorry to be ragging on your phone guys, but touchwiz absolutely ruined the Behold 2.
yes that's what I heard that touchwiz 2222222222 ruined but the 3 is great for me. I haven't seen the 2
Is there any way to remove or hide the data/wifi toggles from the notification bar pull-down? I know most people love em' but I could really go without them.

They are built into all TW roms, only way to get rid of them is using an AOSP rom if I recall correctly...
Has anyone come across a method of removing the clock on the CM7 RC2 Lockscreen? I have wp clock installed and would like to use that, I came across a fix which only removed "half" of the clock. The method involved changing the clock font file, numbers in the clock was made transparent, but everything else is still there! I've provided a screenshot as a visual aid. Thanks in advance for anyone who can point me in the right direction of removing the rest of the clock.

I'm sorry, I was unclear. I mean in the like top half of the screen, do you see the white "AM" and "Tuesday, March 22." Not the clock in the notification area. The reason why I want to keep the stock CM7 lockscreen is because of the gestures if you're wondering.
With the "fix" I was able to remove the time itself, but just the numbers, not the remaining text.
I thought CM mod 's lock was completely customizable under CM settings

Not that I can see, it's only stuff like music control and gestures.
So I updated to 2.3 gingerbread and the Huawei UI thing is just horrible. I would much rather have the stock 2.3 android one.
I tried different themes, but most only change things like lock screen and main dock. But not most menus, the dialer etc.
Is there any way to change those? My dream choice would be an awesome Ice Cream Sandwich theme, but the complete sets seem to be only for CM7 roms.
Edit: I was looking around and it seems like my best option is to get Oxygen and this theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363518 ?
Can I change to Oxygen without formatting everything?
download from market
1. A dialer
2. A launcher
3. A lockscreen
I have a ICS lockscreen and theme for launcher. Basically..
In ICS theme:
* lockscreen
* desktop
* app drawer
Not in ICS theme:
* status bar
* notification window
* dialer
* menus
* volume control
I can't change them all anyway with just apps I think. For example the notification area.
I attached 2 files. 1 is my notifications, the other is a Oxygen. theme by skifyr123

I'm a little bit afraid of it as people seem to be having problems.
Why not install CM7/MIUI/Oxygen then?
Well, are there any solid non-buggy versions? I have found themes for both Oxygen and CM7, but there is no official port for CM7 and all of the unoffical ones seem to be having some problems. Same goes for Oxygen which seems to be having problems with the 720p video camera.
Adw launcher ex, launcher pro or go launcher maby? + you can add theme to make all launchers look different I myself prefer adw launcher.

None of them so far have updated the menus themselves. Only dock, app drawer and lock screen basically.

You could try this one.
The theme is great and removes everything that is horrible in the 2.3.5 theme, but do one backup before you try it

When I upgraded to Gingerbread I dropped down to the basic android Gb UI which I liked better than the horrible "beyond the sky" add on they pre installed.
I did this by hitting the menu key then Home Settings, then change theme.
BTW anyone know how to removed the "Beyond the Sky" theme?
Im running pure AOPK on my n7, and under ROM settings there is a nav bar option... just what i was looking for... you can put 2 more buttons on the navigation bar :laugh::laugh::laugh:
but i really dont like the phone UI...
when i change the dpi to 160, the extra buttons are gone...
any ideas?
i found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpgyNFQFAdo
that would do the trick, but it is for cm7... but i have theme choser... but i cant try it now because i dont have a computer to restore a backup if i need to...
id like to add more than 5 buttons (power, menu, go launcher, ilauncher, youtube....)
thanks

I changed my LCD density on mine too after adding buttons (running CM10), and the buttons go back to stock. Is there any way to customize the combined bar or tablet bar or combination bar or WHATEVER the heck it's called? I've been scouring the interwebs for this info and can't find it anywhere.

Yep, I'm running cookies and cream right now and I can do this

Aokp supports tablet mode without changing dpi. When you do this you are able to customize the navbar to your hearts content.
Btw dpi changes are dirty little hacks that tend to break compatability with several aokp features like this and make some apps disappear from the play store.
