The easiest way I have discovered so far is to sync your phonebooks and calendar on your PC or Mac with Google's online phonebook and calendar and then sync your Android phone with your online phonebook and calendar on Google.

online calendar, contacts?

hy, anybody knows a free page, where i can sync my hermes calendar (tasks and appointments) and my contacts? i mean for example over wlan, without a computer between.
regards chief
I use Google Calendar, and Oggsync on the PDA to keep the two sync'd.
Also use SynQ for Outlook so just about every calendar I could access (work, home PC, web based, PDA) is sync'd automatically.
There is a free version of Oggsync... can't recall the limitations of the free version.
HTH.
cool, oggsync is a app i have searched for. but a need such a tool for ontacts too, can i sync them with google?

Not AFAIK.. I sync my contacts using SynQ / Outlook between work-based server. SynQ is free, BTW, if you have access to a server it can use.
I use mail2web.com to sync my contacts, agenda, tasks. I also use their push mail service but you don't have to if you don't want to.

[Question] winmo to android contacts

I just joined the android family.
And i was wondering is there is a easy way to import my contacts with pictures and appointments and sms messages from my xperia to my magic?
thnx!
Its a few steps sadly...
1. Sync your winmo with your pc and outlook, this will get your calendar and contacts in outlook.
2. export your contacts as a csv file and then import into google using web interface. Tip create a group for your phone contacts, as by default google syncs everyone you have ever emailed. I call mine 'Phone Contacts'. On the handset you can say only sync contacts in xxx groups. This way they stay nice. You can then reassign your contacts photos in the web contacts page. These will sync down to your phone.
3. install google sync (http://dl.google.com/googlecalendarsync/GoogleCalendarSync_Installer.exe), this will then sync your outlook calendar with google, which will then sync with your phone
As for sms etc, sorry can't help you there. But you might want to look at this (http://code.google.com/p/android-sms/) sms backup program. stores all your sms's in google under a label called SMS.
Thanks

Thank you for your reply!
I guess this is still faster then manual input.
For SMS: if you have or plan to have root access to your android phone: http://android.modaco.com/content/software/288916/windows-mobile-sms-migrator-beta-1/

HTC Sync Calendar to Google Calendar

Hi all.
Does anyone know of an app that can synchronise the "PC Sync" calendar created by HTC Sync on an Android phone to a specific Google calendar?
Secondly does any one know of a reliable calendar reminder app with a snooze function?
I've tried "Calendar Snooze" and following the last update it constantly triggers reminders even when it's been dismissed. It was the first app in over 3 months to cause me to restart my phone(!)
Thanks in advance
I don't know if this is what you mean.

Thanks lukehluke...but that's not quite what I was looking for.
I use HTC Sync to sync my work Outlook calendar to my phone. My company won't allow a direct sync to my google calendar.
HTC Sync creates a new calendar on my phone that just contains my work entries. This is fine but I wanted to know if there was away to sync those entries from my phone to a Google account online .
Hope that helps clear it up.
@SpartanGrey => Sorry for my bad english but for your sync problem, try Google Calendar Sync. It works fine for me in my Company.
Calendar Sync is too limited for me.

Thanks Thibault1403...but I can't use Calendar Sync.
2 reasons;
1. My company prohibits sync'ing direct to an online account.
2. Calendar Sync will only sync with the main calendar and I wanted to sync work items to a specific "sub-Calendar" in my main account.
Thanks for the advice though.

Best way to migrate data from WM6.5 to Froyo

Hi all.
With the hopeful impending arrival of my DHD, I am keen to know the best way to migrate my contacts, calendar etc to Froyo.
I know I can sync my activesync to sync with Google, but is that the best way?
I want to maintain as much as I can if possible....
oggsync does fairly good to sync contacts and calendar, but some features missing unless you use the paid version.
another alternative (free as long as you have Outlook in your PC):
activesync to desktop outlook -> export to csv from desktop outlook -> use Import feature in the gmail website -> let the data sync from google account to handset.
grateful if somebody could give an advice re tasks. the Task feature of gmail doesn't support recurrent task, and hence absolutely not my choice. Astrid looks good enough on Android, but seems i must manually re-enter all outstanding tasks.
The best way is
On WM6.x use Exchange Server from Google using the google account that you are going to use on Android, and then in Android use that google email account and everything will transfer to android. Simple as that...
thanks for your advice.
you mean this Google Sync service?

EDIT: trying it now. it's handy. thanks!
What I did, was export all my contacts and appointments, and then imported them into my Gmail account. Then synced when I was within Android on my HD2.
Works very well.
cool thread this
i have my contacts backed up on WMDC, but my phone is now dead is there any way to get them from WMDC or microsoft outlook to the DHD
I hope this might help

Syncing Music, Contacts, Calendars

I just got an HD2 and got Android running onto it without any issue. I am planning to switch over from an iPhone. I have one issue. I am a users that heavily uses Outlook on a daily basis to manage my Contacts and Calendar. Also, I use iTunes for my music.
I did some research on finding ways to sync iTunes and outlook with Android but I couldn't find any satisfying solution.
I was hoping you guys would be able to share how you guys sync Outlook's contact and calendars onto Android.
I know there are few methods out there where I can sync my Outlook with Gmail using Google Sync app, and then sync my Android with Gmail. Isn't there a more simpler method to achieve this?
This is not a solution to your problem, its just what I did to solve all this import/synch from outlook contacts / calendar which is a very frustrating task. I stoped using outlook! I imported all contacts and calendar entries to gmail - gmail calendar and now everytime I run a new android build all these get synchronized automatically. I just input gmail username and pass. It takes only a minute.
Hope this helps

Obviously it's not an option and I never understood why people still complain about a full blown Outlook solution.
I'm in the same situation as you and I solved with a couple of little programs.
Google Contacts Outlook Synchronizer and Google Calendar Sync. You only have to set things once, then everything works on the fly.
As for your music, winamp has just released a beta version which can sync music via wifi or usb. You do need a beta desktop version as well, found here

I ran into Google App Sync, https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gappssync, but it seems that I have to pay for it. Isn't there something similar to this which is free?
