You can't get into bootloader at all?
If you can't get into bootloader or recovery then yes... you are bricked.
What did you do?

im not trying to hijack this thread but i didnt want to create a duplicate. mine also gets stuck on the splash screen. It wont load my recovery files and the adb interface on my computer wont work. im at a loss. Previously it was rooted with cyanogen mod 6.0

Stuck at vodafone screen< HELP?!?!?!?!?!?

i rooted my mytouch and was trying to revert to the 32b board and preformed all of these commands, all of which were successful,
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot erase system -w
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RAv1.2.0G.img
but now my phone is stuck at the red vodaphone screen, please if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
how long has it been stuck at that screen for? did u keep it on for a few minutes? try taking out the battery for a few minutes, then re inserting it.
run fastboot into recovery on computer and it will wait for device. plug phone in without battery then put battery in phone and it should throw phone into recovery .
alrite i was able to get into fastboot an i reflashed sappimg, hopefully all will be good i think i'll just stick with 32a until i figure out what i did wrong, thanx all
Hang on, Firstly you said reverting back to 32B. Then you said you'll stick to 32A? Which do you have? You run a risk of bricking the phone putting the wrong firmware on it.
I have a t-mobile mytouch, when i rooted it the board ends up being 32a (im pretty sure everybodys is like that) so i started to follow the "daredevil steps" to change the board to 32b but that created the stuck vodafone screen

One problem is that you can not see the red text "Recovery Mode" on the red background. Someone had the same problem on another forum.

Can you provide a bit more info on this? This might lead to somewhere. I read some folks have red background with blur logo (maybe mean the recover text is hidden there)? I will be happy if it is in deed in recovery mode with red background. However, my bricked phone has red background with clear logo.
I have this from a german site
http://www.android-hilfe.de/vodafone-htc-magic-forum/3419-nach-flash-handy-startet-nicht-mehr-2.html
roughly translated: he thought that he stuck on the start screen but actually was in fastboot mode. he just couldn't see it trough the red Vodaphone screen. He pressed home+power and could load the backup from th PC into the phone.

Bricked Magic 32A - need help what picture means

Hi all,
I managed to brick my device during radio upgrade (check my last post on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=632869&page=2) so now my magic is showing some picture after powering on which i do not understand what it means - after few seconds this picture blacks out and that's it (display is lit but it is black).
Fastboot, recovery and goldcard process are not available.
Help is appreciated, and also suggestions to revive it as well.
P.S. I tried to give it to the service, they said "Tampered boot" and returned the unit back to me as is so I am on my own here :-(
over 100 reads and no answers? C'mon people, I am sure that there has got to be someone who knows what this picture means
The picture is a system screen. It's in the background while updating roms and what not. What version of android are you running and can you get into any boot screens ie. powering on using back and home at the same time?
To be quite honest I do not know which version of android was on before - i just know that it happened during uploading radio 6.35.08.29.
Back + Home + Power on shows same picture.
If I put same radio as update.zip on the SD card would it have any sense??

Well it's been a while for me, but it seems like that pic is from the original recovery, you require amon's recovery.
Have you gone through the steps from Cursordroid, upgrading/downgrading SPL and Radio? Follow his procedure, grab all the correct files and use Fastboot.

If it can be done by putting some files to sdcard please describe it and if successfull i am buying beer... Hell, if it works i might introduce you to my younger sister ;-)

Read carefully and follow the instruction here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=605239
then i don't think there is to much to worry about!
For me it sounds like you updated the radio and restarted the mobile before updating the SPL. OR you forgot to check the m5dsum of the radio and flashed a broken radio file to your mobile.
It's IMPORTANT that you guys remember to check md5sum of the files before flashing em cause a broken radio/spl file can brick the phone!

I see more and more threads like this and no movement in direction which could unbrick the phone without changing the motherboard...
Seems like I'm in the same situation as the OP. Got the same picture and can't do anything about it.

[Q] HTC Magic with Hero rom keeps looping on boot :(

Hi xda,
I'm sorry if this is a "common" error, but I couldn't find a thread via google or the search function - If I'm just an idiot, SORRY.
The problem is, that my little brothers HTC Magic is failing on boot. The screen keeps on showing the logo for HTC Hero. - Then he tells me that his friend told him that the Hero rom were a better choise, so the friend TRIED to flash the hero rom over at the magic, but now it loops the logo.
My questions is :
1) Is the hero rom a better rom for the Magic?
2) How do I get it to work again?
Is it rooted?
Can you get into recovery?
Can you get into fastboot?
What radio, hboot and recovery are on the phone?
If you or your brother don't know what those things are then you've got some reading to do. Google those words or search in this forum. Once you understand what those things do or if you already know, then report back.

U need to clear about the Hero ROM you flashed. Original Hero ROM can not run in Magic, only Cooked Hero ROM can.
Also, If u flash cooked Hero ROM for Magic, u may need the recovery for this ROM (usually suggested by the dev)

If recovery is pressing BACK+POWER, than yes At that screen it say:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32 A ENG S-OFF H HBOOT-1.33.2010 (SAPP10000) CPLD-12 RADIO-3.22.29.17
When I choose fastboot (HBOOT?) It's trying to load some images, but fails.

Recovery is home+power. Try it, if still run, u can download the Magic Rom with 3.22 radio.
If not, Download recovery Magic of RA or Seo,... use fastboot to flash the recovery image.
Or u can download official ROM and flash it.
Good luck

I think u should download the original ROM like sapphire.img, put it into sd card, start the phone in Hboot and it will automatically find the img file to flash.

The USB connection with his computer isn't working so he won't be able to just run the RUU. He'll need to extract the sappimg file from the RUU, put it on his SD card via an adapter, and flash it from hboot on the phone.
With that being said, @the OP, still grab your CID and let us know which country the phone originates from. Then I'll pull the file you'll need and post it back here for you to download with instructions on how to use it.

Wait, just realized that link require that you be able to boot into the ROM. So, we're going to take the plunge. If your wrong, the file just won't flash, so no worries about bricking.
Go here and download that file. Rename it to "sappimg.zip" and put it on your SD card. With the SD card in the phone and the phone turned off, boot into hboot holding (volume down+power). The phone will pick up the image and ask you to hit "ACTION" to continue (ACTION is pressing the trackball in). Press "ACTION" to flash the file, after its done (will take about 5 minutes) it'll ask you to hit "ACTION" again to reboot. Do that and you'll be back stock.

HELP!! HD2 stuck on "Stick Together" Screen..No Bootloader!!

I recently tried to load Magldr 1.13 and it finished loading but when the phone restarted it got stuck on the "Stick Together" screen. I tried to restart while holding the Volume Down and and Power button and also the Volume Down and Volume Up buttons but the bootloader doesn't load at all..Is there anyway to fix this?
You only need to hold down the volume down button in order to enter bootloader. Also please be sure your volume down button is working.
I tried to hold the volume down button..i'm sure my volume down button is working..but how do you know for sure?
Well from what I am reading you are unable to get to the magldr screen so it is difficult to tell if the volume down button is in fact working. Also before installing magldr did you perform a task29?

No I didnt perform a task29..before this rom I was running Android on it..then i did a hard reset which restored it back to Windows 6.5..Then I tried to run the magldr and the screen just got stuck after I ran the 1.13...I remember the screen asking me if I wanted to move from a version 3.14 to a 2.0 or something like that..Did that have anything to do with it?
Well after installing windows and before going back to magldr you needed to perform a task 29 to delete windows from the phone. Windows may still be on the phone and you may be able to force it into boot loader if it is able to connect to activesync. It has been a while since I have done it that way so I don't recall how.

It does not work fastboot recovery and reset the phone to HTC MAGIC WORDS

Welcome. I have a problem with HTC Magic, and so I'm on my phone after installing rom could not enter recovery mode. On the phone was the rom install ROM Manager app, so I used it and installed Rogers recovery or something like that. Phone came after restarting in recovery mode, but I could not after him navigate, so I turned on the phone again, ROM Manager installed ClockworkMod recovery. After installing CWM's phone starts up, it appears a few seconds to sign the HTC Magic and the phone restarts. Recovery mode does not work and fastboot. computer sees the phone for a while until I will not start again. Thanks in advance for your help. I'm sorry for text, i use google translate

Calm down...this is not a big problem and it can be fixed.
Enter in Fastboot Mode by pressing the back key + power on.
If you have unlocked your hboot.
Download RA-Hero 1.6 recovery and flash it with this command
Code:
fastboot flash recovery /location/name of the img .img
If you have a Locked hboot.
If your phone is Europe then download this RUU
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...Europe_3.05.401.3_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
If your phone is Rogers Download this Zip
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...8.55.06Q_6.35.16.19_release_144134_signed.zip
If not then search http://www.shipped-roms.com for a suitable RUU
For europe just open your phone in Fastboot and start the RUU(this will format everything on your phone)
For Rogers copy the zip to your SDCard and rename it SAPPIMG.zip, enter in hboot (VolDown + powerkey) and let it scan the zip.

Try to use RUU to downgrade to 1.5 by using one of the apps from here, after this you may enter in hboot normally. then try to change the spl and radio as you wish. this operation works for me everytime i "smash" my magic
@george.wgx
I can not do the RUU downgrade the firmware because the computer detects the phone and after 3-4 seconds of losing contact with him.
i run magic today. if someone have this same problem, you must install a recovery by RecoverX
