Xip.bin from new build put in XIP_DONOR, and xip.bin from the old rom in XIP_DEVICE
The new xip.bin, you know where to put it.Big thanks to developers - Yad and Alexx~.

Does anyone know a good tutorial (thread) for XIP porting
Thnx in advanced
Looking for the same. Anyone please? I'm sure I'll serve the community with new ROMs if I learn..
Regards,
Carty..
If you want there is one in italian:
http://www.a1kstyle.com/ptopic17150.html&highlight=xipport
That's the same incomplete version which is similar to Garmin' English version at Atom' Section. Looking for a more detailed one. Found something in Polish at http://mobione.pl/index.php?page=porting_ROM but seems there is no online translators for polish
Anyway, as far as Ive struggled, I understood that you strip coredll from one xip, use mreloc to change v and d base, paste coredll to the xip of other device and build it. Is that it required for building a new OS? I mean, does the new OS build solely depend on coredll? Then what kind of improvements will it have?
Thanks for helping.
Regards,
Carty..
Afther patch coredll.dll yopu have to change all the SYS folder (obtained with package tool) with the newest one.
I rip a ROM and get lot of folders such as the extra packages the previous cook added. I presume those files aren't needed but the rest of the common folders such as phone,os,baseapps and so on? What about the .ROM and .VM folder? Should they also be replaced?
What do they(.ROM and .VM) folder exactly do? They just seem to have some address information inside.

Carty..

Isn't it preferrable to move over all of msxipkernel?
Yes I looked at the G'Loc thing before but no instructions on how to use it

Hi, I suggest you read the wiki's and become a little more comfortable with how ROM cooking is done even in the old Build OS kitchens.
If you are still having problems, please reply in evrius's thread, rather than starting a new one. Post all relevant details such as device, ROM you are dumping, etc.
Thanks

Hi cookers!
I'm looking for a tutorial on how to add Sense to roms I've cooked.........
Is there in the forum or somewhere out there some kind of instructions?
Thanks a lot!!!
Hi,
Welcome to Chefs Central
Could you tell for what device you are cooking?
It's requested in the 'Welcome to chefs Central' anouncement here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=612
It's important because if people don't know what resolution your device is it's impossible to give you the correct answer.
Also some info about which kitchen you are using would help a lot.

Sorry
I'm cooking for the Xperia X1 with Ervius VK....... but I'm just trying the OSKitchen right now....
I'm trying to add Sense 2.5 to my roms (WM 6.5.5 build 23563 or 23568)
Allright so that's a wvga device, thank you
Do you know how to dump a rom?
If so dump the rom which contains the Manila you want to cook in.
After dumping search in dump for initflashfiles.dat and open this file with a text editor.
Search for all Manila entries and copy them in a new .txt document.
Save this document as app.dat to a location you remember.
Next copy all Manila packages into your kitchen.
app.dat you can copy to the Core package of Manila
Done

Very simple!! I'll try! Thanks a lot!
Ok man, offcourse some other packages are depended too but this is a good start.
Run through all the Manila entries of the corresponding packages in the app.dat you create and don't forget to add them all.
After that you can cook and check how everything works.
Probably you need to update a lot more packages but that's a case of trial and effort.
Other packages you probably need are:
StartIconLoader
Settings_Improvement
Contact_Utility_Engine
HTCFramework
Menu_Enhancement
Well that's just quesing, you need to find out yourself.
Before you start make a backup of your kitchen and then start updating the packages step by step and test.
A reminder, all the packages you add extra in your kitchen in most cases also have initflashfiles.dat entries, don't forget to check that.
You can do the same with them by placing a app.dat file in the package or adding the line to initflashfiles.dat in your kitchen.

4 mark / unmark ext package
5 click on start button (play)
wait...
6 look inside the PRG folder
download the necessary radio and put in a folder TOOLS
to change the radio used respectively cmd script.
XIP porting:
very simple, change only these folders:

feropont, in my oppinion if someone starts to cook he should not use osbuilder.
It is powerfull, professional tools with a lot capabilites. Me myself only know some options I needed, but before I use it I have many hours spent with l3v5y and ffboy kitchens to analyze their work.
People saw more ROM and "go on !". Let They learn some basic steps from leston2379 tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804529
I hope nobody felt insulted

Thanks you very much for the kitchen tool. I dont speek english very well, too. I'm French Google Translator is my friend!
I already know l3v5y kitchen tool, I have make some French ROM with this tool. I want to try other method.
Osbuilder allow me to take care a bit.
If possible, I'm will support and answer questions
Thanks!
Great tool!! Easy to use! Nice work
I managed to create my French ROM build 29007 without problem. In total I 323.42mo ROM (normally it's not 350Mo?)
While creating the SE CE is now 5.2.0 whereas before I had the SE CE 5.2.29007. How to fix problem XIP?
Again, this is a great tool!

For autoport xip to the donor in a folder create a folder with a new portable xip and invest packages MXIPKernel and MXIPKernelLTK or xip.bin of build 29007.
The amount of free ROM depends on the size of the newly created IMFGS and tg01os.nb.payload.
Sorry my bad English
Thanks
Thank you for your reply.
I have put the files in the folder Donor/29007. I'll try again.
It's work. My dsm file into Mskernel have not the correct build version.
Nice work Feropont !!! I'll try now your kitchen !
@ feropont very good tool, tnx for share. exist a way to settings that make the ROM possible to full dump? without cleaning of dsm and rgu files after ROM create?
i like to re open my ROMs (made with osbuilder) for re cooking by other chefs
many tnx, miro
Go to "Settings" -> Build Dump and Rom -> Unmark "Merge all packages to one"
Create your ROM
For a dump
Extract os.nb.payload with Tgtool (-sp command)
Go to Dump mode in OsBuilder and open os.nb.payload
You can see your packages and extract.
Sorry for my poor english
