Hopefully this won't count as spamming since this question has been posted many times, but I couldn't find an answer.
1. First to find out what region your phone falls under do the following:
Lock the phone but make sure it lights up.
press menu back back menu back menu menu back.
Inside you'll find the infos you need, (thanks to pabling19)
2. Now if you're like me and followed Bina4ry's debranding and rooting guide from: (delete the space after the h-->) h ttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=71190
My phone now shows this in the system info:
Model X10a
Country: Generic
Brand: Customized
Now I don't need to know the release date for 2.1, as I keep up to date with that info. My question is: with my current system info, what region would that count as? Once I know what region it falls under I can find the release date for 2.1 myself. Thanks!

Then you've not looked hard enough, as the answer is on one or two threads, and the same threads you've obviously seen the question that "has been posted many times".

Hi all,
Hope you can help.
My X10 is fantastic BUT.....the clock has stopped updating itself and only works by manually adjusting the time and not having it set to 'automatic network-provided values'.
Could this be related to my problem I had last week? I was updating my security and was locked out of my phone, now each time I switch my mobile on I have to enter the PUK Code!
Very frustrating I cannot figure it out,my internet setting are default and turned on, I have a 3G signal...etc...can anyone help?
Many thanks
JP
Holy ....
Did you even think about using the forum search engine?
Example:

Both topics have been discussed a few times...
@Mods: PLEASE close....
Hi McKebapp,
Thanks for your replay, sorry a late reply been out all day.
I did use the search engine and read the earlier posts however didn't feel I have obtained the answer I require.
Some suggest it is the network provider, debranding mobile, using task killer, none of which apply to me. It seems the only option or solution is to manually set the time?
I too have contacted Sony for support but no reply.
I have also searched for an answer to why my mobile is Sim PUK Locked each time I resart it?
Any help is appreciated.
JP
O.k., then I won't be that mean.
Could you please note some specs of your phone?
Whats the exact firmware version?
Do you make use of a taskkiller or not?
To you PUK problem: Please put you SIM card into another phone to check out if its a problem of the SIM itself...
Thanks McKebapp,
Glad Im not in trouble I do appreciate the help.
Mobile Info...
Model: X10i
BaseBand: 1.0.14
Kernal: 2.6.29-rel [email protected]#2
Build No: R1FA014
Firmware version: 1.6
As for task killer, I have no evidence of this or a simlar software on the mobile applications. Packages I have installed only include games, Swype & application installer)
I inserted the sim into my LG Viewty and it required the PUK to access the phone.
Thanks
JP
O.k. .14 is the oldest offical Firmware. Search the forum or xperiax10.net for the debranding tutorial and whip that thing atleast to .16 or directly to. 21 if there really is no task manager or killer or so running.
To your PUK: Talk to your provider, what is to do...
Hey about clock problem, i had the same problem & i reinstalled firmaware using SEUS & it helped. My firmaware is R1FB001 now. Check, may be you can also get latest firmaware
About sim, it seems you've problem with your sim card. You can get a new one from your carrier i think
I have this problem after unbranding my phone. If I use the automatic time feature it will be about 1 hour behind real time.
Setting up the time manually keep the time correct though, but I hope they do fix the issue with the 'May' update.
Hi Mckebapp,
Thanks for the help. I will look to upgrade the firmware as you hve noted.
Regards
JP

Hey! I know I sholud not have been creating this thread but I want to know that can anybody please having the Indian Firmware(obviously living in India) can tell me the Kit Number(Customization Code) please? I need it badly!!
If you have rooted your device using the Chinese Pre-Rooted ROM, then your Kit number must have changed. Please if somebody from india here can tell me his Kit No. I will be thankful to him.
Here are the instructions to know the Kit Number(Customization Code).
Here is how to check your customization code:
1. Lock the screen of your phone. Press the menu button (left button) so that the screen is lit but still locked.
2. Press the home (central button) and back (right button) in following sequence:
home-back-back-home-back-home-home-back
Try several times if you can not do it the first time. when successful secret menu will appear. Go to Service info->Software info and find "customization version"
It should be something like 1241-3708_R3A (this is my code, your will be different but the same format).

I need to change kernel but i cant.
is it REM 2 "E15i Customized IN world-1-8 CDF1241-3836" "White" R2B_2_0_1_A_0_47
Sorry to ask this question, It's a simple one but all the threads seem to go into too much info. I've hunted through numerous threads, but maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
I'm a Win 6.5 kind of person and Know nothing whatsoever about Android (Until my next upgrade (Sensation Hopefully))
In 2010 I bought my daughter a T-mobile UK Hero, unlocked it and is now running with an O2 UK sim.
She has never recieved an over the air update to 2.1, is this because it should come from T-mo and she now has O2 Apn settings??? On 1.5, I can't even find "Check for Updates" in the menu.
Is there an easy way and a step by step guide to this?
I'd like to use a stock rom, as I'll have her and everyone else to answer to if anything goes wrong.
Is there a thread or glossary that explains upgrading procedures and words like rooting etc. as all this seems a little different to Win Mo.
Thanks
a good place to start would be here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=797740
also, please post [Q] threads in the Q&A section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=511
if you never want to root your device, just flash an RUU to the device.
you should find the correct one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=559622
I expect only a T-mobile one will run. I am not certain if this will remove your sim unlock.

Thanks, I'll give that thread a go, and I hadn't thought about the simlock issue. I did an over the air update on my girlfriends desire that I unlocked from O2, and didn't have a simlock issue, or is this totally different to an RUU flash?
Sorry it went in the wrong section. I spend most of my time on the Leo forum where there's no Q&A Section.
Thanks again
Does anyone know for sure if this will re-lock the phone?
If it does, can the phone be unlocked using the same code as used last time?
I seem to recall reading that flashing a rom doesnt affect the sim lock. Dont know about an RUU though
So I have my phone locked to o2 and I wanted to unlock, when I write *#0011# I get Connection error or Invalid MMI code, I tried everything (+,) turning off the radio thing, rebooting device but it doesn't helps
TY for listening.
We have an entire thread on SIM unlocking. Read it please, especially the posts dating from November of last year or so. The solution to your dilemma is in that thread.

There is a reason I mentioned reading the thread, especially the posts from November 2014 onward. Stop using the service menu method and use RegionLock Away.

RegionLock Away can't find EFS folder
Let's go back to the beginning. I need the following information from you.
1. Model Number
2. Android Version, found by going to Settings > More > About device.
3. Firmware Version (AP, CP, CSC), found by dialing *#1234# in the dialer or by installing Phone Info from the Play Store and running it.
4. Service Provider (O2)
5. Country (UK)
6. Is the phone rooted? (Yes/No)
7. Is a custom ROM installed? (Yes/No, and the name of the ROM)
Hi,
I'm using a SM-G900F with the stock ROM LRX21T.G900FXXU1BNL9. Kernel version is 3.4.0-3624618. The phone is rooted, carrier is Vodafone Germany.
I've been made aware that there are OTA-updates that I missed because Samsung's update service refuses to run on my phone ("There were unsupported changes made..."). There seem to be newer builds out there, e.g. G900FXXU1BOH4.
What is the easiest way to get those updates? Of course I could use Kies to do a factory reset and that would probably get me current, but I would have to reinstall everything, which I'm not exactly looking forward to.
Is there an easier way that does not involve a reinstall?
(A quick pointer to a howto would be fine, I just didn't find any myself.)
Regards
No idea how you didn't find that info yourself, it is literally posted a gazillion times all over this forum
Go to sammobile . com - find the firmware you want, read instructions under the download

Two problems with that:
- I can't download from that site (after clicking on "regular download" it still wants me to join something)
and
- I only found the "how do I do it" there, not the "what will it mean". For example, will "the Odin way" preserve my data or not?
Regards
So join the site, it's free
And no, I know those threads are easily available if you take the time to read some, because this is like the 1000th time I've written these exact steps for people who want others to do the searching for them
Take some time to read some threads, sounds like you need to anyway to gain some know-how about your phone
Thank you for your kind assistance.
