[MOD][TASKBAR] Grey taskbar icons for DesireHD build - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I included the Matte Grey iconset into the DesireHD taskbar since the stock ones are too wierd and boring for me
(Framework is from m-deejay's DHD 3.7 build and tested on that build ONLY !)

Process :
1. Download framework-res.apk from here : http://vbnfiles.com/xda/vbn/Desire HD/MOD/framework-res.apk
2. Reboot into WM and open card as Storage device
3. Copy the apk into Android/root/system/framework (Create directory if doesnt exist)
4. Boot into Android and Enjoy !
PS : Works best with Matted themes like MattedBlues, etc.

Working on a complete matted theme on my WM Clarity (for those who know about it ) line ... lets see what I can churn up !

Works perfectly... only wish I could get a circular battery indicator

Hey Sanjeev,
I'm still running this one thing though the download indicator seems rather large.
Sent from my HD2

Sorry forgot your circular battery request...got tied up with things at home
The download indicator I can fix ... its actually best at 200dpi but breaks sense everywhere...

UPDATED !
* Charging anim converted to single icon matted blue
* Signal 0-10% icon changed to 1 bar instead of nothing
* Download icon alignment corrected and size reduced to 70%

Great work Sanjeev! Just if possible add % charge level for the battery and it will be definetely the best b/w taskbar.

I've tweaked this a little to my own preference for the DHD builds after finding some images
This preview is well crap (looks 1000x better) but should be enough to get the idea

Well done birkoff, but I think circle b/w battery metter will look better.

Its basicly a different visual clock, to read the hours see the left vertical columns and for the minutes see the right 5-rows columns.
The PDF on the site above explains it better...
To use:
---------
- 5 colors to choose from, just press the bottom bar to change colors.
- If you prefer a 12-hour clock, simply click the left numbers after 13h.
- Exit with enter (keypad) or by pressing the top-right area.
- See the "normal" digital clock and date by pressing anywhere else on the screen.
Notes:
-------
- Needs FLASH 7, if it doesnt exit properly, you dont have it.
- Attached the CAB, already with the WM6.5 icon on install.
- Also added a separated swf file, to see it run on your NOKIA, PC or Throttle Launcher..
Enjoy.
Nice idea
Love it! thanks!
it would be cool if it can be a screensaver.
thanks twolf!
WQVGA issue omnia
just wondering if there's a way to make the excess screen on my omnia to default BLACK- then your app would be awesome
maybe even add function buttons - there's some promising update potential
awesome clock - would it be possible to simulate the look of a recessed L.E.D.?
looks good on my armband at the CLUB!!!
Great...very cool with the color options!
Sorry, the software I use for the EXE only allows VGA/QVGA, he doesnt even allow any extra options for the size or screen color.
Use flash pimp clock
I need a macromediaflash for use it. someone can help me?
found it
Yes, yes my first app for the htc diamond.
it`s fantastic........... I`m cry
Standalone app?
Just wondering... what is the program you are using for these standalone apps? I could probably use the same thing to make my own FlashGadgets play as standalones, which would make them work across a broader series of device platforms. Please check out my thread, and tell me what you think. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=630985

please keep update, very good for first app!
i cant find a simple calc with digit group since WinMo (ex: 1000000 => 1.000.000) , why is this not a standard? waiting for your update
Very nice first app!
I would tone the blue down a little bit, it seems just a little too bright when compared to WP7, and the numbers look a bit stretched too.
Good luck further developing this app!

[Theme] Windows Phone 7 UI+Launcher+Music (All Droids)

Pretty Simple Theme,
You will need CM7 (Because of its T-Mobile theming engine)
You will need to know how to sideload APK's
Any Droid should work (or any phone for that matter)
Step 1 (Install Launcher 7)
Get Launcher 7 from market
(Donate version doesnt have ads, i suggest getting it. you wont be disappointed)
Change default launcher to Launcher 7
Step 2 (Make tiles Blue)
On the homescreen, press menu
Press 'Launcher7 Settings"
Change the tile color to #ff19a1e2
Click the blue swatch to confirm
(Do not set status bar options, the theme will do this)
Step 3 Install the CM Theme
In Market, get MinimalBread
The Install will go into your Theme Chooser app
One side effect of the theme is some missing features. so far i havent seen any big ones
Select it, Install then Reboot
Step 4 Music App
now what inspired me to make this tutorial was the music app i saw on Engadget,
Article Here
Download Here
Software Updates Here
Install the APK to your phone
Hold down the music Icon in Launcher7
Press the Pencil
Change the Application and look for Fede's Music App
Now your phone has the Windows Phone 7 theme,
Any questions? Feel free to PM me
You should add screenshots
+1
please add some screenshots
Looks great, thanks for your efforts.
Post some screen shots please.

Very smooth launcher for my old milestone, only Launcherpro works better.
I wont change it to other ones for a time.
But it is still a mimic, not identical to real WP7.
This is from my samsung focus:

There it is..
Well, I'm using the donation one. And yeah it's running pretty damn smooth!!
i think android is better than windows 7
Like this theme! Thanks a lot for showing us the methods to apply it.

Jelly Bean does have native battery percentage

If you modify the build.prop file and set the DPI to 160, Android will switch to a UI designed for larger screen sizes. Along with that comes a native battery percentage indicator in the notification shade.
So my question is this, if it exists in the native OS, is there a simple hack to get it to appear in the other native interfaces?

Sure would be nice if this was a system setting! Be nice to get type size larger without rooting!
No kidding! It would seem promising to me though that the operating system does, in fact, have a battery percentage indicator built in. I can't imagine it should be too much of a stretch to force it to appear in the non-tablet interfaces.

easily doable via System UI edits...decompile using apktool
need to update stat_sys_battery.xml and stat_sys_battery_charge.xml to include pngs for all files, and add in your pngs
Yeah it'd be great to have a battery indicator and the clock/notifications on the bottom, but heard of too many scare stories to even try, like the Nexus 7 bricking on boot and more incompatible apps
Having the battery percentage showing up in the tablet is not something new. I have it on my HoneyComb Tablet: it shows up the percentage near to the battery.
I don't know if it isa modification made by HTC, but I don't think so.
Sorry to revive a dead/old thread, but have any of you found a solution to this since last posting here? Or can anyone else comment on this? I'm trying to get the battery percentage showing next to/inside of the battery icon on the status bar on my friends phone for him, without rooting preferably, and without installing additional software (otherwise I'd just install GSam).
TYIA!

Android Oreo - unreadable notifications due to white background

I've updated my device to Android Oreo (AOSP Extended) and immediately noticed the new "design choices", which led to the following problem:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
That's how it looks like, when I'm trying to download an app using Google Playstore. The progress bar, the name of the app (which is showing the notification) and its icon are completely missing, is there any way to fix this?! Unfortunately I didn't find any way to change the background colour - it would be even better to get rid of the new "everything is white" design, but I would be already happy, if I could at least read my notifcations ^^
I have already spent way too much time searching for a solution, but I didn't find anything (except installing Subtratum Theme Engine, which seems to be a bit unreasonable for just changing the background colour), so you're my last hope

You don't like the new design? It's called Ultra Minimalistic Material. Deal with it, it'll grow on you soon. Besides you should know what's in the notification by now...
jokes aside, just use AEX 5.6. It worked flawlessly. You can also change color on both the rom you have and 5.6, just go to Settings - Display - more
